Do I need to make changes to the child-theme or the newspaper theme itself? I want to add it one time (to don’t get disturbed by updates, as the override custom modifications)

Please tell me how to add this using child theme. (What to copy to child-theme directory, I am using sing loop 2, for single post style 2)

Hi,

That could be a possibility in a future update, but I could not say for sure when this will happen. It is up to the developers however to decide what gets implemented as soon as possible and what is postponed, from the list of suggestions and recommendations. In the meantime you will have to make the modifications in the mobile theme files directly.

Home page errors. - topic

Hi there ,
I found a rare problem which is ,when I log into my account that will take me to straight to the error 404 page then I have to go back again to the home page which has shown to the next line .

I never faced his problem at all .Moreover now a days I found my website loads slowly ,for example -if I want to create a new page or post this takes ages to start and after preparing that take me to the error page instead of original page I have created .
Is there any program misfunctioned or any plugin I can use to make that faster .I even cannot having a good time after new update as this getting very slow and checking tagdiv composer is a nightmare at this moment .please advice me what to do for resolving this issues.

Hello,

Please contact us via email and provide a link to your site, wp-admin and your envato purchase code so we can inspect the activation process.
The theme activation system was changed so the reactivating is necessary after the update.

Hi,

There is no header style like the one you mention, available in the theme at the moment. More header styles could be introduced in future updates. If you would like to modify a header style to look like that one, it will have to be made custom.
Here is a guide explaining how to use the browser inspector to identify the elements on the page and their classes, in order to create custom code that you can use

Newspaper 8 update problems - topic

Hi Tagdiv Team,
Thanks for the update and making the theme more beautiful. However, I ‘m having problems with the update.
1. After update, image showing as Newspaper 7 while text showing as Newspaper 8. See here

2. I can’t add an element to the page. I can drag but that doesn’t drop on the page. See here

I have deleted and re-installed the theme multiple times using WordPress panel as well as via FTP but to no avail. I even redownloaded the theme package but that didn’t help either.

Hi,

It is possible, but I could not say that it will get implemented in the next update. Maybe in other future updates more social networks options will be available. Thank you for your suggestion.

Hi,

Please try to update the theme by FTP – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ then check if everything is working as it should.
Maybe the theme is not updating properly, this method is the surest way in this regard. Follow the steps as described and it should work properly. Please let us know how it goes.

New composer misses important elements - topic

Hello,

Since the new update, I deleted VC and swapped completely to the new composer. But the cost is quit big. I am missing basic elements that are very important
To mention just a few:
* Possibility to add a title (the “title” element is wrong as it’s used for sidebars usually. I just want a single line of text, centered. As easy as it sounds)
* Possibility to split a ray in 1/2 and 1/2 (or anything custom). 2 columns seems basic to me…
* Possibility to add simple buttons.

Is there any solutions for this basic stuff?

Dear all,

I’m going to update Newspaper from 4.6.3 to 8.

I read this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and at section “Updating from Newspaper 4:” he talks about “Update Script” to run after upgrading files.

Now, in 8.00 that function is missing, it was a deprecated function?

Problem solved! I just uninstalled the tagDiv Composer, and the website is the same as before the update. Thanks a lot jkellerer for this advice!

Hello,

with this update you only gave us a tons of many hours to work. We needed months to make our page look great and functional, and now we must recreate everything from scratch. We cant’ make a new page, which took us monts, now in just 3 minutes?!?! Are you serious.. i mean.. now we are working with it, and a lot ob functions are missing, there are only 4 row layouts, there is no searh box – we need it, because our site is based as search browser for tourism, and we had search box on every page , for visitors to see it. Fine, it looks nice for editing, looks modern, but, now we must totally change the look of our page, beacuse there are no functions that we used before.
Sorry for harsh words, but you have to understand, we invested a lot of hard work in this page, and now.. like we haven’t done anything in past months…

Hi, I recently updated to Newspaper 8 and I have set up the author card, but when the name is clicked on that it is supposed to go to the author page, but goes to the homepage instead. Could you please tell me what I’m doing wrong?

Maybe You can take an Lok to the “Include” Folder and than in the “td_config.php”.
On any Updates I must change some things. If You find differenzed sizes You sould corrected it and than You can used an Plugin like “Image resize” or so on.

Stretch not working on v8 - topic

Updated to 8 now strech isn’t working, so the site is boxed even though it’s set to stretch.

I don’t want to switch to Tag Composer yet as it lacks features VC has like alert boxes etc.

Any ideas?

Problems with Single Image after Update - topic

Hi guys,

we have a problem with the presenting of single images – maybe after the update to v8. Alle images are shown to big, there is no any more the caption (images without text) and the image link is not working – after a click on the image it is referring to itself. In the settings of newspaper everything is correct: add caption box is active, a link is added to the image…

Please for example see the website (scroll down to the end of the page with the four images):

Thanks for your support – the images are linked with booking.com – so it`s loosing revenue for us 😉

This is really disappointing. TagDiv composer would work with a lot of requirements? I’m on a business cloud hosting environment at Hostgator and some PHP settings can’t be changed. Almost all of the requirements are met but max_execution_time status – Yellow (it is 30 currently). So, now for me, TagDiv composer is basically USELESS?

How is it better than Visual Composer when it can’t work in an environment where Visual composer works just fine?

I’ll have to keep the Visual Composer installed then? And, I’ll have to keep hanging out with the Visual Composer’s old version or you will still provide updates to Visual composer plugin in the later releases?

I replaced the test server with the production server.
And updated the theme.
So, tagDiv Composer is installed automatically.
Since the same problem occurred, I was tagDiv Composer invalidated.
Currently only images are not displayed in articles.
Popup Maker is not installed currently.

Test server Newspaper – Theme panel version: 8.0

Background image problem with template post 3 - topic

Hi,

I have a background photo for my website, but since the last update, the part of the content area (where the article tag begins) shows a white background of the whole website when I using post template 3. Therefor the background image will not show in this area (this was not the case in the latest versions of 7).

How can you/I solve this problem?

I solved the problem by using the following SQL query:

UPDATE wp_postmeta dt1, wp_postmeta dt2
SET dt1.meta_value = dt2.meta_value
WHERE dt1.post_id = dt2.post_id AND dt1.meta_key = "td_post_theme_settings" AND dt2.meta_key = "td_review"

I am not sure where the error is, I am running PHP 5.6 and even if my plugins are disabled the problem persists.

I know it’s the weekend but I hope someone will be able to help before the beginning of next week 🙁

Appreciate your response here. No Conflicts existed before updating to Latest Version of Theme, which has forced us to roll back to prior version of Theme which works fine. So we suspect that something within the Update is the culprit?
