Is there a way to maintain the layout used on the pre-made theme when turning on AMP and Mobile? When I turn these on they destroy the layout of my blog posts.

Hi, I have already selected the Header Template Default PRO and what I get is this: the duplicated menu at the top and bottom, your logo and the name of my blog.

https://viajeconpablo.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/menu-error.jpg

I really don’t understand why I’m having so many problems updating to version 12. Version 12 has broken the AMP, it has broken the header and it has also changed the font of my H1, H2 titles… I don’t understand that a version change causes so many problems. I need some help.

Hello,

I’m attempting to build category pages for reviews using the new Flex Loop and related filtering features. I’ve run into a couple of roadblocks with it ->

1. There does not seem to be the ability to set a star color for the reviews like there is in all other blocks (which.. makes them invisible on my dark theme). Perhaps custom CSS is needed until this is an option?

2. With the flex loop on category pages, I want the user to go to a specific category (or, even taxonomy) of product reviews (for example, CPUs) and be presented with the default list of all CPU reviews, and be able to further filter based upon the taxonomy filters offered with the Flex Block Filtering. I do not see a way to set any sort of “default” filter for the Flex Block, thus, my readers going to a particular category/topic page will always be presented with all of the newest articles (which includes news and other content they may not specifically be looking for). It does appear that I can set this type of default filter by post type, however, that would mean I’d need to create a couple dozen sets of custom post types and then change the type of hundreds of reviews, which does not seem very appealing. Any thoughts on how to achieve this?

Hi,

We’re experiencing unexpected behavior after switching to the Newspaper child theme supplied in the Envato download package (unedited). A different template (or, that’s what it seems to be at least) is being applied to our custom post types like https://staging-qxmagazine.kinsta.cloud/listing/lgbtq-gay-london-tonight/. The correct layout is on https://www.qxmagazine.com/listing/lgbtq-gay-london-tonight/ where the parent theme is still running.

Examples of differences on staging vs live are: no sidebar, title is a linked H3 instead of h1, category is displaying, social sharing not displaying, comment count displaying, author is displaying.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Hi Guys – After more than a year of absence I am back with another question relating to this topic. I hope you can assist.

It looks like only 50 subcategory items are displayed in the mobile menu.

This issue relates mainly to the FrontPage and Category / Archive pages. Newspaper theme is engaged here with the dedicated Mobile Page (mobile theme not active). Firstly, the output is not collecting the correct mobile menu as it is set to do – it is grabbing the desktop menu. In this case only the first 50 or so categories are displayed.

On the single pages, AMP + Mobile Theme is displaying the posts. In this part, the correct mobile menu is collected and displayed with all the subcategories.

Any ideas what I can look at to get around this?

Hello,

The cloud templates are custom post types, and these can be an index or not, therefore you can use Yoast SEO to control the SEO for cloud templates, for example https://i.imgur.com/6BRLmIs.png after that you need to reindex your website on Google (or you can reindex only that link).

Let me know the results!

Thank you!

Thanks for the quick reply!
I was already using the mobile + AMP setting
I can now modify itle and tagline but only if I add a logo mobile in the settings of your screenshot.
But, I cannot replace it with some text. Where is this option ?

Thanks
Matt

Hello,

We recommend AMP + Mobile because AMP is faster and works better only with Mobile Theme plugin.
For AMP you can’t add an SVG logo, only an image or text -> https://i.imgur.com/TYU3Gyl.png

Thank you!

Thank you!

Hi,
We usually recommend for this to use a SEO plugin that will add og:image and other elements in the theme. For example you can try the steps from this guide -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/facebook-share/
Thank you!

Hi,

The mobile theme comes with its own templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout, the page content is made without builders in mobile editor => https://www.screencast.com/t/xbgZG8kH also, the options that are provided to edit the mobile theme version are limited (this keeps the things simple)).
So, if you want to use the cloud templates, then you need to disable the mobile theme and AMP plugins, and then use the responsive version.
You can use cloud templates with AMP.
Also, please check this topic where I explained each mobile version -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-version-not-working-properly-2/ and choose what mobile version you want.

Thank you!

.nullsample image
1. Please check the attached picture
2. If you look at the picture, changing the Expect length to 2 does not change the length of the text
You can change the number to 1 to make the text disappear completely, but you can’t control the area where the text is displayed by adjusting the number.

I’d like to ask for your help on the above part.

Hi

I am running the latest version 12 and I managed to change the title in all the versions (desktop, mobile etc…) by modifying the menus but, for the AMP version, I cannot find the way to do so… I modified the settings > general of wordpress and deleted cache etc… But no… I still get the same

https://prnt.sc/nIpPQhNPZuVC

Any idea?

Thanks

If you edit Header Template, you have option to change “Logo text” and “Logo text tagline”. But the tagline never shows up.

Also, if you edit your HEADER in Theme Panel, you have options to change “TEXT LOGO” and “TEXT LOGO TAGLINE”. The default option for “TEXT LOGO TAGLINE” is “DISCOVER THE ART OF PUBLISHING”. But no matter how you change, it won’t affect the tagline either in web view or mobile view.

In Mobile view, it’s always “DISCOVER THE ART OF PUBLISHING”

There’s no such settings options for MOBILE THEME settings.

I realize that all websites using Tagdiv’s Newspaper Theme experience the same problems.

For example:
https://goctram.com/

https://vattumoitruong.com/

My site: https://www.banyantimes.com/

Please help me remove the phrase “DISCOVER THE ART OF PUBLISHING”. Thank you.

There must be some way to not use very old javascript code. It makes it impossible to have other plugins on the site. For example in this picture is an event issue that was was addressed in javasript/jquery in 2018. Four years ago.

Also look at these jQuery migrate warnings. We have the newest version of the theme and plugins installed. Why is this occurring?

And lastly, there is not code in the same minified file. It is a specific file with legacy javascript.
/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/js/tagdiv_theme.min.js?ver=12′

We do not need to use any legacy stuff at all. So how can we get away from this?

Hello @edragon!

1. Let me know exactly(screenshot) what you need to align to the center.

2. In order to disable this option “Exit mobile version”, you need to disable this setting: https://i.imgur.com/LxpDtB2.png
You can’t have a global template if you use the Mobile theme plugin or AMP.
a Responsive version: A responsive version of your website looks similar to the desktop version. Edit the page with TagDiv Composer. Click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB; there you can see your mobile version and edit or adjust the elements to look better.

b Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages

c Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance-optimized theme included in the main Newspaper theme that only loads on mobile devices. It comes with its own templates and design for pages, posts, categories, etc., so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. Please see https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/ for more information.

You can add some paddings to the rows in every viewport you need the space and you can center it like that.

3. Unfortunately, there are no settings in order to change that menu.

4. We do not have any settings in order to achieve this.

We should investigate this issue and find the problem. Please contact us and provide the required details.

Thank you!

And another strange thing with mobile header/menu on mkuubis.ee/ulevaated page

If I don’t use AMP. If I do not enable AMP in page settings, it’s disabled, then Google PageSpeed Insights gives horrible score around 30. But when I enable in page settings AMP, then I get amazing score with Google PageSpeed Insights, around 85-90. But when I do it, mobile menu button on left side on screen, three lines, does not open anymore it does not show menu at all.

Hi, I solved the problem by removing the AMP version. Now the only error is that the header does not show the logo, only the name of the blog. This is the link.
https://viajeconpablo.com/
But it does not appear on mobile or desktop.
What could be the problem? Thanks

When I used search, example “avanti” it did work and preshowed me all posts, problem started when I hit enter, then your website shows page with all posts. Also notice that your website is missing lots of icons/pictures.

Hi Calin,

First, yes, I have edited responsive version on the mobile header in TagDiv. I tried both the mobile theme and amp previously but no success either.

I did notice that you have a TagDiv CSS analyzer – How can I get a copy of that? I am honestly unable to understand why just the header is creating problems on the mobile pages.

How can we avoid legacy javascript (and CSS) being used on our site? That this is used seems to result in the page crashing when there’s interaction with WooCommerce. For example,
https://staging2.frihetsnytt.se/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/js/tagdiv_theme.min.js?ver=12:192

Hi,
I’m glad to hear that the problem with the flyout menu is resolved using php 8.
About the mobile problem. The solution that we recommend and it can be used without problems if you do not have many pages disabled from amp is to disable the mobile theme plugin, edit the pages and disable the amp plugin from them -> https://i.imgur.com/hX6WjBT.png after you do this on the pages you no longer want the amp version, just set back the mobile theme and this will resolve the problem.
Now if you do not want the amp on any page, just disable it from here -> https://i.imgur.com/cKm518n.png
Thank you!

Hi,
I see that on the first link you have set a cloud header template. Did you edit the responsive version with tagDiv Composer-> https://i.imgur.com/zHGss7r.png also if you are using a mobile page template -> https://i.imgur.com/Aqx1ImM.png
In case that you are using the mobile theme plugin then please also check this section -> https://i.imgur.com/ECowvU4.png
About the amp version, we recommend to use the amp plugin with the mobile theme plugin -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-amp-plugin-tutorial/
Thank you!

Regarding the point one, the name appears indeed in the dropdown but it is not pulling the information from the custom field (it has a value). It only says “sample field data” in tagdiv preview and when opening the page, nothing is displayed indeed – https://imgur.com/rQReNrt and https://imgur.com/i74Ihrs and https://imgur.com/1hEEniQ
