I had to revisit this topic after testing my site on a staging site with the current version of Gutenberg plugin (2.5.0) and I hope the tagdiv team can chip in, rather than expecting the same hopeless reply of “we don’t intend to use this plugin in future”. For once, as expected, the shortcodes associated with the theme are missing from the Gutenberg editor, but I mostly only use the smart list shortcode a lot and I had to type [td_smart_list_end] in a shortcode block at every instance of a new test post which was rather annoying (and even seems complicated for existing post). Second, I don’t know if this is due to the plugin or the theme, I tried to edit a published post and sometimes it would not show preview unless I made it into a draft, where then it would work.
My request to the team is to start considering how to integrate their features that are in the classic WordPress editor to the Gutenberg editor to save their clients a lot of agony and misery when the editor rolls out in WordPress core (5.0). Though I should point out I only had installed td composer and td newsletter only plus several other plugins that do not come with the theme.
But I still like it that there is the classic editor for now (with Gutenberg installed) so I could just switch back to classic and make the changes there. Still, this should be in the tagdiv team’s priority list.
Went into several posts on my site to edit featured images. Within each post, I can see the Word Count, but regardless of either the Text or Visual tab, none of the content on the page is displayed in the backend, only the front end. so it identifies that the content is there, but there is no visual representation of content or html under either tab.
Which made me realize that there is no Visual Composer toggle option on the post or any pages, which comes standard w the theme.
I went into WPBakery Page Builder Settings and clicked Activate WPBakery Page Builder and it takes me to a landing page to pay for it. But, since it comes with theme and I paid for theme, it should be inclusive.
Please tell me how I can activate VC/WPBakery Page Builder – that should solve this issue, correct?

IF Using TagDiv composer

After downloading Apppresser plugins etc I’ve found that TagDiv will not work with the Apppresser them.
From their support –
Yes, it sounds like it is the TagDiv Composer that is causing the issue. The likelihood is that it is only set up to work with the theme it came with (the Newspaper theme?). This means that if you were to use the TagDiv Composer with any other theme, including standard WordPress themes like TwentySeventeen, then the code would not work and you would receive the same type of error messages.
What this basically means is that you will need to do one of the following:
1. Rebuild your website’s pages without that plugin for the whole site. This is not really feasible at all.
2. Create app only pages that essentially display the same content but use standard HTML, rather than that plugin, and load those pages in the app only. Technically, if you were to purchase a stand alone license of another page builder, like the Visual Composer for example, it may also work, but HTML is best.
3. Locate the feature that is causing the page to fail and remove. Basically, you would need to look through a page and remove various elements until the page works in the app. Then you know the exact feature that was breaking the page. This is not a great option though because what might find is that the overall structure of the page is the problem, not individual features.
4. Chat with the dev team of the TagDiv composer to see if it is possible to allow it work with other themes, specifically, our AP3 IonTheme as that is what is loaded in the app.
Hopefully this information helps anyway.

Hi there, were using reverse proxy and because it caused issues on wp-admin pages set-up the WP Site URL different to the WP HOME URL.

Hi. I cannot seem to figure out why categories are not showing on the flex block. I copied the shortcodes for the crypto demo homepage and edited them on my site with td composer, but the category is not showing. Kindly assist in diagnosing the problem.
Using TD composer I cannot edit the “Latest Articles” section on the home page (bottom).
Just asking how I can manage this section (title, category posts, etc…).

Please update your version of the tagdiv composer as well by deactivating and deleting the current one you have now and installing it again from the main theme package you downloaded from envato.
Also please try to install the new multi-purpose plugin and see if the error is still there.

Since I’m a layman I want to ask you something: How can I create and Image with a CTA Button with the Newspaper Theme? Something like on the Dentist Demo. I can add a new Image with the tag div composer, but i cant insert the CTA in the image.
My second question is: I want to create a Homepage. I go to pages and create the page: ”home”. But I dont want the homepage have this permalink: http://www.domain.com/home I want it to have this normal link: http://www.domain.com How can I handle this.

This would be the intended functionality in pages using the tagDiv composer.
Make sure you are using the latest composer version included in the theme package (version 2.1). If you have a problem, you could try as a first step to deactivate all plugins except theme plugins, then check if this has any effect. Let us know the results.

I still can not update Visual Composer. When following the instructions on your site i only find a js_composer.zip file from 2016. It does install the same version of Viual Composer that i have now (version 4.11).
The plugin keeps telling me that i have update to version 5.01.
I tried to download the Newspaper installation files from Themeforest but there no folder named Newspaper-tf and no js_composer.zip file.
Where do i go wrong?

The Newsletter element is only available in the tagDiv composer to be placed on pages. It is not present as a widget. You could use a HTML or text widget to display a newsletter in post sidebars for the moment.
There are plans in coming updates to change how the post templates are used and created, there will be major changes in the matter and a considerable amount of flexibility added. I cannot give you a time estimate however.

I am trying to delete a element in WordPress with TD Composer / TagDiv Composer.
After clicking on “Delete Element”, “delete row” or anything for deleting the screen goes kind of grey, but no windows appears to confirm the delete action.
So I can’t delete anything I added.
I updated to the 4.7.2 version, but also in the 4.6 version I had this behavior.

I’d like to add the CSS below that disables scrolling, but I only want it to take effect on one page of my website (the homepage, wamserforallentown.muhlenbergweekly.com) and not other pages on that domain (for example, wamserforallentown.muhlenbergweekly.com/issues). When I add it to the Live CSS, even in the TD Composer of the homepage, it still applies to the rest of the pages across the subdomain.

solved for now, open in page editor, then load TDcomposer from the page editor instead of loading from the front page. No clue why this would be effective.
The WP editor isnt loading on the front page when use TD composer, all plugins disabled. server resouces are OK this is dedicated box and has plenty of power, this issue dfid not occur until upgrade to 8.7.2 from a earlier 8.7 or 8.6 version.
This happens when adding a block called “text with title”
The editor just spins and spins and never loads.
tested in FF, chrome, safari, Mac, and PC.
Went through and disabled plugins one by one, cleared all caches, restarted browsers, tried other machines. The WP editor never loads. Although it used to load in earlier versions because I have content in there that I need to edit.
Suggestions?
