There are 2 ways to control the sidebars in our theme.
The first one is to use the widgets area: http://screencast.com/t/HcrgyWC0x and set a custom sidebar or edit an existing one. You can create a custom sidebar from the theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/hpspO2CE5xV and it will show up in the widgets area. Here you can add elements from the left side of the screen and configure their settings.
You can assign these sidebars to a post, category or page.
On pages if you use the default template, the sidebar will not show up: http://screencast.com/t/zl9jucvAdB4
The other way is only for pages, you can use visual composer to create another column to your content and add widgets to it: http://screencast.com/t/QmhxmLZulH7

Hi – I am pretty new to WordPress, and I have probably an easy question for most of you.
I am starting with the Sports demo and just removing and adding things to build my site. I added a Header ad just above the news ticker, but I cannot figure out how to remove the large amount of extra white space above it, and below the menu. I havent made any layout changes yet with visual composer. Thanks in advance!
After updating the Newsmag-file and the files of js_composer and td-speed-booster I get a long list of errors like the following example in the head of the page – and also in the backend:
wp booster error:
td_api_base::mark_used_on_page : a component with the ID: td_block_1 is not set.
/var/www/vhosts/domain/httpdocs/data-directory/themes/Newsmag/includes/wp_booster/td_api.php
The complete header of the page incl. the menu and backgroud-image is no more visible.
And all used blocks in the page are invalid (the tags are visible instead of the block-heads)
[td_block_text_with_title custom_title=“My Headline“ border_top=“no_border_top“] ... [/td_block_text_with_title]
In the backend I can’t see the td_blocks in the visual composer menu – the rest of the visual composer works normal.
What can I do to fix the problem.

Hello,
Usually when a problem occurs with a feature it either works on all posts or it does not work at all. Please clear your cache and disable all plugins except visual composer and see if the views increment.

I have some code created with visual composer inside a page, adding some CSS, custom bg etc. This part works very well, but I want to transfer this code inside a widget that will be placed on the main theme sidebar so it works for the whole site. Unfortunately this isn’t plain html so it is not working.
How can I achieve that?

The latest version of the theme is tested and works fine with Social counter plugin. I’ve checked your site and noticed that you’re using Visual Composer V4.4.4 with V2.3 of the theme. We always recommend to update and the plugins included in theme’s path when the theme it’s updated to a newer version.
Try deactivate all plugins, update the ones from Newsmag-tf\plugins folder, clear all caches and test again. The plugins always should be installed from the same path with the theme.
We also have some negative reports regarding cloudflare’s rocket loader usage, it seams to affect the theme’s js so if you still have issues with the images try to deactivate it and test again.

Theme’s blocks weren’t designed to display the price tag and buy buttons. You will need lots of customizations in theme files to achieve that functionality. Instead you can use Products block from Visual Composer which have a similar layout with block 15 from the theme, also have the price tag and buy buttons integrated: http://screencast.com/t/j7J4gsuUWvl – http://screencast.com/t/gLGTgKgVpg8j
If you need a different functionalities which involve other customizations and you’re not aware of the steps you need to take in this regard please consider hiring a developer or a freelancer to do this for you as we can’t offer customization services at the moment.

I’ve test your twitter ID on our theme and it seems to be all right and display the correct number of followers as you can see: http://screencast.com/t/bR2saJJEU . My advice is to try another example with other ID, like cocacola and see if the problem is the same and then try it again with your twitter ID. If the issue is still there, please disable all the active plugins except Visual Composer, clear all cashes and try it again.

Please only use this version and not other ones as they can create problems.
The post template problem comes from the update from version 4 of the theme. New post templates were added and this made the existing ones switch to another post template with the same number as the one in version 4. In order to reset your posts to the global default you can follow this topic here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/change-style-of-multiple-posts-at-once/

Yes, it is possible to create this columns without Visual Composer but you must have knowledge of HTML. First of all you have to create a new simple page with mega menu feature, then in your text editor you must put your content.

Practically, the mega menu feature allow your content in header.

Thanks Catalin for your detailed answer. But it is very long way for create a menu item. I don’t want create a page and WP custom menu for each menu item. I must use Visual Composer for this. I don’t prefer using VC except homepage. Because VC eat my cpu and memory.

Unfortunately, i cannot offer another solution without using Author Block in Visual Composer, sorry. Using this block you can exclude the authors by ID – http://screencast.com/t/j2luwRrukdp . If you want, you can search for a plugin and test it on our theme.

Yes, it is possible to make your menu with columns. To achieve this it is necessary to create a page WP Custom Menu, element in Visual Composer and create your menu, then paste your page id and make it mega menu. I see that you use Visual Composer 4.8.1, please note that this version was not tested with the theme, so if you still have issues with it I suggest to install version provided with the theme(4.7.4).
I’m not sure what settings you use for Big Grid Slider, I didn’t managed to recreate this. Also you use unique articles on page? Did you used only 2 day Jetpack sort order? Unfortunately we found that, it doesn’t work properly on blocks with pagination and also on sliders(on second page it shows the same posts), sorry!
If this is what you mean, please use Jetpack sort order on blocks without pagination until we find a fix for it.

@XS22 Here is how you can regenerate them: https://forum.tagdiv.com/existing-content/ however I doubt this will solve your issues as thumbs are used on modules and blocks, not on pages and you use visual composer’s page builder there, the css code should work. I’ve also replied you via email so please give me a working user there and I’ll take a closer look at this.

You can use the theme on multiple test sites(development) without any problems. I’m not sure what the issue is, please try to do a clean install and check this without any plugins active, except of Visual Composer, clear cache and see if you still have this issue. For some reason when I tried on a different computer, I could get the visual composer to work. But now I’m having trouble getting the “Big Grid Slide” to work like it did before. I would like to to show up to eight posts, but it only shows the first four and when it scrolls, the next block of four is blank.

Thanks for the reply! I went ahead and upgraded the theme this morning, but there are quite a few things that are wrong that I’m going to need help with.
For starters, I the Visual Composer doesn’t seem to be working. When I try to edit my front page, I don’t see any of the composer options, so there is very little I can do right now to try and fix my front page. I have tried removing and reinstalling, but that didn’t help. I edited the php.ini file per instructions I found via search and that didn’t help. I even purchased the plugin (I’ve been thinking about buying it anyways) and installed that version, but I still can’t make any changes. Please help!
