Newspaper 6 should be regarded as a new theme, that’s why we recommend to make a clean install(I recommend FTP method) and make sure that no files from old version will remain there. Please note that in version 6 any customization(to the theme files, custom css) from old version will not work and you will have to re-add them.

In the “how to update” guide is specified that you will have to run the script that will import from database your settings, will change the shortcodes. Unfortunately you will have to re-add your widgets in the sidebars as some of them may not be imported or don’t exist anymore, also they will become inactive.

Please make sure you use the latest theme version (2.0) and the Visual Composer plugin provided within it (4.5.3) and test this again and if you still experience this please let us know and provide your admin login details and a link to this tread at contact@tagdiv.com so we can have a closer look at this.

Visual composer plugin has been fixed and it’s not causing problems anymore, other than that the new version of the theme relies on the same aspects as the previous theme versions did, with the same speed recommendations and suggestions, you can see this from the pagespeed guide here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/pagespeed-guide/ and with the proper configuration the theme can get the best page speed score.

Seems that the prettyPhoto security issue was aborted in 4.5.3 update according to their update logs: http://screencast.com/t/WaCN5Zle72ow

Please make sure that you use the latest theme version 6.3 and also update the plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugins folder. Also you can check this without any plugins active, leave only Visual Composer active, clear cache and see if you still have this issue. Let me know!

I’m not sure what you mean, the theme doesn’t have such of feature for users.

Please check this also without any plugins active, leave just Visual Composer active, clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN then check it on IE older versions and see if you still have this issue. I see that you use version 4 of the theme and you still have that error, usually the javascript errors are caused by plugins that conflict with theme javascript, that why I suggest to disable the plugins and also css/js minification. As you may have also updated a plugin and it may cause this issue. What is the version of the theme and Visual Composer that you use?

Please deactivate all plugins, leave just Visual Composer enabled, clear cache and see if you still have this issue. This seems to be a caching issue please make sure that you clear all the cache and purge your files if you use CDN.
We only recommend using just page cache enabled(default settings): https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ so make sure you use the same for your cahce plugin.
Also you can check this by creating a new post, disable all the plugins except of Visual Composer, clear the cache and purge your files if you use CDN and see if you articles appears.
