Last gasp … is
(assuming you tried deactivating your other plugins first; some people having issues with YOAST latest edition and conflict with Visual Composer 4.5 on some servers; issue with those plugins not theme — see the support threads on wordpress.org for yoast, for more info)
1) increase default php memory for WordPress in your wp-config.php file to 256MB. I’ve found, oddly, that for some reason, on some setups, changing the amount of memory via theme panel and php.ini does *not* actually increase amount of memory WordPress will actually use … adding the setting ALSO in config file makes difference.
https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
or
2) fully delete the js_composer folder, reinstall either the latest version from theme, or install version from prior theme version.
Turn off the extension blocking update.
Try updating via FTP; delete old js_composer folder; upload new one (don’t “over-write” old one).
I follow this link for Visual Composer:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
When I try to install the plugin I get this message: “File upload stopped by extension.”
Now my theme look bad without Visual Composer.
What can I do? (It’s urgent.)
Thank you
How can I install the latest version of WP Baker?? Its not the latest version in Newspaper download. My site behaves bad – the categories dont show up att start page and in the menu. Have had this problem for two weeks at least.
After that we were forced to return to the old theme because the new version of Newsmag had problems with the visual composer plugin becouse it used too much memory of the server, we decided to restore Newsmag, but without the visual composer plugin. It looks like a blog and not a magazine, but we hope that the TagDiv technical can solve this problem as soon as possible. We wanted to ask if the same problem occurred with the Newpaper Theme or is exclusive to Newsmag and if you plan to solve this problem.
thanks a lot
Hi I recently downloaded the theme. It is excellent.
I have unusual problem, I cannot see text in text area on page editor. I only see the text when it is selected.
The Post admin panel is the same. I cannot even see the Visual Composer. I cannot change the from visual to text.
please help
My website is tugun.org
Some people on the Yoast and Visual Composer forums are reporting issues with Yoast 2.1 and 2.1.1 with Visual Composer, including v4.5. Not theme related.
Check those support forums on the WordPress.org plugin repository for more info.
Perhaps a fix for Yoast will be coming ? Dunno.
With all the changes to plugins for the XSS flaws, I have a hunch this may crop up for the next couple of weeks with bunches of stuff.

Try disabling your cache; try disabling all plugins except visual composer.
Try switching back to twenty-fifteen theme see if you can save posts.
Check to make sure you re-save permalinks; check to make sure your dbase is not overloaded, or if you have exceeded the storage space on your account, etc.
Try optimizing your WP database.
Try saving a draft post; then make sure you see the “post saved” message at top; then go to your “all posts” and see if there (be sure to make note of proper date setting on your post that you’re not saving it into the past where it would be buried on the index).
That would be my suggestion.
Worst case, reinstall theme and see if problem persists.
Hi,
@sportskp Could you please provide more details on this as I’ve tried to recreate this using Yoast’s latest version and the Visual Composer version 4.4.4 and had no errors when generating the Yoast Sitemap.
Please let me know and also try without having other plugins active and make sure you also use the latest versions of both plugins, theme also and test again.
Thanks
Hi,
Not sure how that happens. Could you please try to remove and reinstall the VC plugin and make sure you install the latest version from the full theme /plugins folder: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/
Let us know how it goes and also make sure that you empty all caches and purge files if you use CDN host.
Thanks
Hi,
Please set the Social Counter plugin using this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-set-social-counter/ and provide your site URL if you still have issues with it. Also you can check this without any plugin active, leave only Visual Composer and also clear cache. Let me know!
Thanks!
Hi,
Did you enabled top menu from Theme Panel? – http://screencast.com/t/IE1skPN9PlQO as I have checked your site and the top menu is not visible also on desktop, that css help you to show it on mobile devices(where is hidden) – http://screencast.com/t/ce6z8jXRAZSv
Please check if you have this issue with smartsidebar also without any plugins active, leave only Visual Composer active and clear cache. Also test it without js/css minification.
About loading time please test your pagespeed https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ and try to fix those errors. You can find out more about this in our documentation – https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-speed-guide/ and also Christopher topic help – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tutorial-chriss-custom-optimizations-for-functions-php-etc/
Thanks!
Hi,
I’m not sure what is the issue with that plugin. You can try to leave only Post Sorter and Visual Composer active and check if it works, maybe is a conflict with another plugin. Also you can address to plugin’s support.
Thanks!

Hi,
Please try to re-save your permalinks as I’m not sure why you have this error as I could not replicate this. Also you can check this without any plugins active, leave only Visual Composer active and re-save again you permalinks.
Thanks!
You might check with YOAST SEO support threads on WordPress.org for quick checkup.
Obviously the theme can’t update Yoast SEO in any way; as it’s not developed by TagDiv; nor is Visual Composer.
See thread on WordPress support page for the plugin:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/yoast-and-visual-composer
this fix may not apply to your use case, but apparently still some issues even with VC 4.5 and Yoast 2.1:
I found that letting the SEO WordPress "Main Keyword" empty on the backend of my homepage makes everything fine.
Hi All,
I’ve have noticed WPBakery Visual Composer has caused an issue with my theme when it comes to generating the Yoast Sitemap. It appears blank or memory errors are thrown everytime its active.
Is there any resolution?
I tried that and it didn’t fix things.
It’s strange, because none of the theme icons found in wp-content/plugins/js_composer/assets/vc appear, nor do the font icons on the front end. The images are all in the directory, and the font files are as well.
Where are we with 4.2 compatibility? Is 1.7 compatible, despite the Visual Composer version?
And just to clarify for all … issue is with Visual Composer and *not* with the theme files; meaning 1.71B is not the culprit, nor was 1.7 — it’s entirely something with VC which causes major system issues when say a page is getting 15,000 hits at once; multiply that by 20-100 pages in a one hour period, and system throws a wrench.
1.4 was ROCK SOLID; 1.5 didn’t have major hiccups. Version of VC included with 1.6 started the issues for us. And version with 1.7 killed the box (or tried to anyway).
So I only have this problem with visual composer, particularly the vc_asset_url function…
its calling my other websites complete directory URL by using this
<script type='text/javascript' src='http://urbanmusichq.co/wp-content/plugins/home/admin/domains/beatzmag.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/assets/js/js_composer_front.js'></script>
when it actually is suppose to use
<script type='text/javascript' src='http://urbanmusichq.co/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/assets/js/js_composer_front.js'></script>
Any suggestions? It use to be doing it to my CSS file but i manually added the CSS file in.
The URL link function in Visual Composer elements is broken since most recent updates. The Select URL dialog opens as normal, but after selecting URL and closing, the URL is not saved. I have Ultimate Addons for Visual Composer installed, but the problem is also pervasive in all standard VC elements (e.g., buttons).
I’ve tried all of the usual steps… Deactivated all other plugins; made sure I have the latest version of Newsmag; reinstalled your latest version of Visual Composer; cleared cache… all to no avail. The problem persists even with only Newsmag and Visual Composer activated.
What to do?
HI, just to give you an idea ….
our site CaliforniaNewswire.com running the shim “beta 2” is right now trouble free; although I have not yet switched on mod_pagespeed but will be doing that today — it shouldn’t cause any issues.
By comparison, one of our other sites eNewsChannels.com – running 1.6 + VC got a huge influx of traffic last night, and some scraping from various syndicators, and our CPU went to
Time: Wed May 6 23:12:58 2015 -0400
1 Min Load Avg: 53.57
5 Min Load Avg: 14.23
15 Min Load Avg: 5.33
Running/Total Processes: 107/1111
Based on the Apache error log, that was all from that ONE site, being scraped from “54.160.202.74”
9-0 22697 0/51/52008 W 9.85 3 0 0.0 1.12 399.32 54.160.202.74 enewschannels.com HEAD /news/news-made-in-the-usa/ HTTP/1.1
One index page being scraped for all the headlines, used 9.85% of the CPU (!). And, um them be like QUAD XEON processors, too.
So, it’s pretty clear Visual Composer when ‘under load’ really whacks the system!
Hi,
Please provide more details about this issue, to what facebook/twitter links do you refer? share buttons, social icons? I also see that you have a share plugin which adds the post top share buttons – http://screencast.com/t/XMtrBxWUsSf3
Try to disable all plugins except for visual composer and check if the issue is still there. Also try to test it on another theme and see if it’s really theme related.
We need more information and a way to replicate this, if possible also find on which devices does this issue occur (device/operating system/browser name and version).
Thank you, Emil G.
Hi all,
I’m working to make the visual composer shim work better and it will be released here in 1-2 days.
@mrmorrison @mattrock – we had searched for the slowdown issue for almost one month now. It appears sometimes on bigger sites but we where unable to reproduce it here. Chirs S helped me by testing the visual composer shim and it looks like it works…. so the slow down can be from visual composer.
I’ve searched a lot in visual composer for what may cause this but it looks like I have to look deeper. The plugin is damn HUGE, it’s bigger than our themes and it’s not our code so it’s hard to debug. Especially that we did not find anything unusual on the callstack traces / memory traces.
Chris thanks a lot for the feedback and help, I will analyze the stats from the email and I will get back to you.
