Regarding the issue, the placeholders will be displayed if no featured images are set for the posts. These placeholders can be disabled in the theme panel if required

This will remove all the placeholder images from all the modules. Could be caching for the homepage, if you use caching clear it. Clear the browser cache as well or force refresh the page (Ctrl+Shift+R). No place holder should be seen anywhere after using that setting.

I deactivated LazyLoad from Jetpack and re-activated the theme’s one; there was no problem and everything worked fine with that.
I find out that Jetpack also has the option to “optimize images” that is use their CDN to resize the images and serve them compressed.
My homepage without jetpack CDN loads in about 3-4 seconds and weights more than 10 Mb. It use only Cloudflare. With Jatpack CDN on it takes the same amount of time but weight only 2,5 mb.
It was maybe jatpack the problem serving the cripted images? I have now deactivated it because in other forum is suggested to use Cloudflare instead.
My question is: is it possible to optimize imgs without using photoshop and jatpack CDN? It seems that smush and the theme itself, despite the thumbnails auto-generating system, cannot do the job. Even the “regenerate thumbnails” plugin fails at that: the page weights 10 mb even after cleared the cache.

This is a fantastic theme first and foremost. You have done a great job with it.
We however run some stories that do not have images accompanying them and I was wondering how I would go about removing the no thumb images on the homepage?
I managed to use FTP to remove the no thumb images from there and this seems to have done the trick on the other pages, but no on the home page.
My site is not live as yet as I am still building it but I am sure you will know what I mean. I am using the Newspaper theme.

Additionally, when I upgraded to the latest version, now the top section of my homepage is broken. What do I need to do to fix this?
It suggests “Big grid 2 Please move this shortcode on a full row in order for it to work.”. However, where/how do I do this?

Let’s try to solve the problems you are having.
Should be exactly the same basically, demo vs installed version. The images might be different only. I tried installing it myself, found no problem.
In your case there seems to be some design missing. The projects page also should look exactly like in the demo.
Did you by any chance edit the demo homepage or edited the projects page with WPBakery page builder? These pages are built with the tagDiv composer and only this should be used to edit them.

I was testing my homepage speed in webpagetest and my site loads on average in 33s.
In the waterfall view I can identify that the last thing downoladed is the favicon with a difference of 22s from the previous content.

Each theme has its own elements and design and the theme used on that site it is not ours.
So no matter what demo you import, you will not have the same layout.
I can only suggest to check our live demo and import the demo you like more. Or if you have already content on your site, just try to create your homepage using tagdiv blocks – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/

I use the element “slide” in my homepage.
When I have only one article in my slider this one does not display at all. On the other hand when I have 2 articles, it works correctly.

Before starting to create your project, please read our documentation regarding on TD Composer as page builder and what exactly you can do with it. The sidebar seems to works as expected at your homepage. Also, if you want to make a new homepage from scratch you should import the demo you like without dummy content and then, all of your created content will be loaded into your database.

Issue #1:

The video is on the left side of the page, but if the post itself does not contain video, then that area would be left blank. I’d like to know how to have the left side embed thumbnail when the post does not contain video but photo posts.

On the homepage, the post preview is showing the video play icon which indicates the post contains video.

This topic is related to H1 tag for Homepage. For example: mysite.com, mysite.com/page/2/ bla bla bla…
In wordpress general settings, there is a site title and tagline.
I found heading tags on my page shows only site title: <H1> site title </H1>
But i want to show heading tags on my page site title and tagline both: <H1> site title | tagline </H1>
For example: <H1>This is my main seo title | mysite.com</H1>
On above example first one is Tagline and second one is Site Title. (This is perfect for SEO)
How can i do this? Please help me if you have any idea via CSS or Functions.php

Hi Catalin, sorry yes here is more info and screenshots:
1. When I activated the theme I Installed demo theme + content so I had a homepage straight away. (deleting all dummy posts of course)
I then tweaked the homepage to what I wanted as far as it would let me. url https://www.baldhiker.com/
2. It would let me delete rows but not the block containing latest posts at bottom of homepage as you can see in link above. I presume that is fixed in theme? As I use latest posts in block at top of homepage I would have duplicate content issues.
3. If that is the case I have tried making my own homepage page from scratch using Tagdiv in the background by copying some things from what I have. I add block at top then a row and widget sidebar but then a new row goes all way across stopping sidebar?

4. I personally feel that on desktop the content is really narrow on the articles.

Hi, I put new theme on my site using Default Memo with content and deleted dummy content. baldhiker.com
1.I have tweaked the home page more where I want it but there are some boxes I can’t get rid of, eg I have latest posts in dynamic box at top plus latest posts list at bottom of homepage I can’t seem to get rid of in TagDiv composer (I presume because they are standard in demo I installed.
2. I also notice the content is quite narrow (on a desktop) and lots of white space left and right which makes photos look small and could be more appealing for me. I can’t find option to change width? If possible?
3. If I build my own homepage using TagDiv to replace the one from Demo. And then delete the demo theme install will that have a catastrophic affect on my content throughout site?

How can I do category pages post titles as in homepage…

There should be no problem importing a cloud homepage and setting it in the WordPress settings.
The issues with the thumbnails can be solved by regenerating them

That will recreate the thumbnails needed fro blocks, grids etc

For composer problems there are a few thing to check. First would be the requirements guide

Insufficient resources most likely will cause problems.
If there is no need for modifications in that matter, in some cases the solutions from these topics worked for blank pages and other composer problems, you could give them a try if possible

Now I’ve a thing which is much more important for me: how can I hide the featured image on smart list? If I publish a smart list I want of course have this on homepage, and, also of course, with an image. But when the user opens the smart list I don’t want to have this featured image above the smart list. That’s ugly and useless. How to solve this?
