I install WooCommerce Product Archive Customiser and it works pretty cool!
Actually WP Rocket wasn’t working to well with lazy load either but just on Firefox. So I went back to the theme lazy load and just uninstalling Firefox and trying out Opera. Something seriously wrong with Firefox. I use four different browser to see the website and so far Edge, IE11, and Chrome load right. See how Opera does.
Hi,
I installed the facebook comment plugin, I disabled comments counter in the theme section, I disabled comments in general > discussion section but I still have a discussion counter on the posts page, I tried several plugins and standar WP Css codes, nothing works. Using Newsmag 2.1.1, is this a known issue ?
I’m playing with this on another site project where the WP install is inside a sub-folder and that extra /category/ thing was even more annoying ! 🙂
Hello,
Since I installed the theme update this morning, the top right Social Icons on my website http://www.streethunters.net have vanished. I also can’t find how to bring them back in the admin. It is as if the option never existed.
Thanks
The script update is AFTER you install the new version of the theme.
Again, see the docs on how to upgrade.
I always upgrade via FTP myself … normal practice is delete old theme and plugin folders, as per usual; upload new theme folder and new plugins.
Hi Chris,
Thanks for the quick reply, sorry if you had to repeat the same things again.
1) So in my case, is it recommended that I run the import script, which is also known as the update script?
2) Where do I find the import/update script? (I’m in the theme panel and I can’t find the link, help)
3) Is the import/update script method no longer constitutes a clean install?
4) What is the correct sequence of events to start my update?
– Back-up entire site, database (done)
– Don’t use FTP as “there may be issues” (I have always updated using FTP method, so which is the safer method to update?)
– Please make sure that you delete the following files from Newspaper 4:
page-homepage-bg.php
page-homepage-bg-loop.php
page-homepage-blank.php
page-homepage-loop.php
page-homepage-timeline.php
(do I delete the above files via FTP first?)
– Update Visual Composer and Social Counter when updating from V4 (so do I update them before or after updating the theme?
5) Do I still need to export my current theme settings if I’m using the import/update script?
6) Can I use the 6.5.1 pack to update from 4.6.3?
Thanks again for your help.
Hello Rick,
Newspaper 6 is a whole new theme that is released for free for all of our existing customers so an update from 4 to 6 may cause the same issues as switching to another theme (but we did try to maintain compatibility where ever possible).
Always make a full backup of your current installation – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and then do a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ update also the plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugins folder. In the “how to update” guide is specified that you will have to run the script that will import from database your settings.
The shortcodes have been changed so old ones will not work anymore. Also you have to update the child theme(if you use one), please note that old files customization or custom css will not work with the new version and you will have to adjust and re-add them.
Bottom line is that newspaper 6 is a whole new theme built from scratch.
Hope this helps!
Thank you!

Hi,
That is because you did not follow the steps properly. You have to delete the plugin version you already have installed and only after deleting you can install the new version as STEP 2 suggests. The error points out exactly that: the folder already exists. There has to be no folder with that name in order for one to be created.
Thank you!
Thank you for your reply. I attempted to upload the “revolution_slide_5” from the WordPress Admin panel. However it could not be installed. Here are the results:
Installing Plugin from uploaded file: revslider.zip
Unpacking the package…
Installing the plugin…
Destination folder already exists. /home/thelit42/public_html/wp-content/plugins/revslider/
Plugin install failed.
Return to Plugins page
Most themes which auto update in WP use either a theme foundry plugin; or can be updated due to being in the WordPress theme repository (e.g., free themes).
Most commercial themes on ThemeForest and commercial plugins don’t have an “auto update” feature, and generally this is a BAD idea — for example, if people had done auto update from NP4 to NP6, and woken up to find their site broken, that would not have been good.
Similarly some plugins may change settings and require workarounds and/or a perfect example is Yoast who “updated” their old wp meta plugin, by disabling it without telling people it would disable it, even though it still worked. Then printed message on screen – “we’ve discontinued this plugin, please upgrade to Yoast SEO” — well, on one site we didn’t want to do that and had to revert to the original meta plugin. Ouch!
Envato tried to build a theme updater for their themes and you can certainly try that. But often it’s best to review the changelog and see what changed so that you don’t wipe your child theme changes if there is major child theme update, or reset your home page if VC changes, etc.
For example an auto updater today might update the entire theme by deleting old folder and any customizations, and upload new one; when only thing changed was Visual Composer update for security issue. So, today only update it the VC plugin which can be done manually via FTP.
So, while it sounds like a good idea — in practice, it’s really not that advisable.
Hope that made sense — not trying to be contrary, just some feedback from using WP for 10 years and having a lot of cock ups from “auto updates” — we turn them ALL off for our sites due to too many site crashes in middle of the night without warning, or CPU spikes crashing entire box due to a bad plugin (e.g., YOAST, often has major bugs every damn dot upgrade then rushes out 3 rounds of “oops” fixes…. seriously… never install that on “new dot upgrade” — it’s a bad bad idea!). 🙂
Hi
You need to install the whatsapp plugin: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/whatsapp then go to plugin settings and set it where you want to appear on the post/pages: http://screencast.com/t/VQ4vE5bbAI4
To make the button visible on desktop add this custom css in theme panel > custom css: http://screencast.com/t/J45jYezamgO2
@media (min-width: 1024px){
.wabtn_container {
display: block;
}
}
Also you can use the plugin’s shortcode to display the button in a different place than set by default: http://screencast.com/t/eJjvhmOUt1
Let me know how it goes!
Thanks!
Thank you for your help so far Andrei L.
I don’t know what I might be missing but I certainly need some help with this share buttons situation
What i’m trying to do: Add a whatsapp and email share button to my Newsmag theme.
Things I understand that i’m supposed to-do are
To-do 1. Add the Font Awesome Icon plugins
Attempted Solution 1: I installed this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/font-awesome/
Attempted Solution 2: I inserted the following code to (the parent theme’s) [theme folder]/function.php file.
add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'enqueue_font_awesome' );
function enqueue_font_awesome() {
wp_enqueue_style( 'font-awesome', '//maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/font-awesome/4.4.0/css/font-awesome.min.css' );
}
I got the code above from a different site while trying to figure out how to add FA icon to my site.
To-do 2: Edit “./wp-content/themes/Newsmag/includes/modules/td_module_single.php”
Attempted solution:Added the following code
<a href="//send?=' . esc_url( get_permalink() ) . '"><i class=”fa fa-whatsapp fa-lg”></i></a>
To-do 3: Add custom CSS
Attempted Solution: Added the following code to the “Your Custom CSS”
.td-social-whatsapp {
background-color: #60b82d;
}
.td-social-whatsapp .td-icon-whatsapp {
font-size: 24px;
position: relative;
top: 2px;
left: 1px;
}
.td-social-pinterest {
margin-right:8px;
}
@media (min-width: 787px){
.td-social-whatsapp {
display: none !important;
}
After all of the above nothing has worked(whatsapp button has not appeared). What am i missing?
Is there a plugin i can add to make this part easier.
I really appreciate any more help I can get.

Hi,
The updates are provided by us via the theme package, we try to deliver the latest versions with each update. The plugins are located in the ../Newspaper-tf/plugins folder – http://screencast.com/t/2Ri75hQV
There you will find the latest version: http://screencast.com/t/YSRJmjnCj5Zi
You can add it from here: http://screencast.com/t/hqRpY7td
If you already have created sliders and do not want to lose them, you should:
1. export your current sliders before you update
2. delete the current plugin and install the latest version
3. import the sliders saved on step one
For more details please check their official documentation – http://www.themepunch.com/faq/update-plugin-packaged-theme/
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
OK, there is some light at the end of the tunel! I have found this plugin that works almost as I want: https://wordpress.org/plugins/posts-in-page/installation/
By using the shortcode [ic_add_posts ignore_sticky_posts=’no’] paste on a plain text box at Visual Composer, all sticky posts are shown!
The only if is that the post does not show the post thumb! Please TagDiv, can you adapt this plugin to your theme and include it as a solution for this issue? Please??
Hi,
do the majority of your users log in ? Or the site is read only for the majority of the users. If the majority of your users do not have to log in (like it’s here on the forum) then you can get very good results with full page caching + cloudflare.

Hi
Regarding the featured image size please check this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/recommended-images-sizes/
You need to update the Social Counter plugin from Newspaper-th/plugins/td-social-counter path, also you can install the plugin using theme’s panel: http://screencast.com/t/3DQmj3Kp
Thanks!
I’ve seen this question posted a few different times but none of the solutions seem to be helping. Could someone assist me with this issue.
I’ve tried installing the latest plugin. I’ve tried other pages… Nothing works.
Hi everyone,
What is the best way to add a blog to a website with the Newspaper theme installed?
Thanks in advance!
You can easily import any font family you wish via your style.css file, and load files on your own site.

Hi
Really seeking your expertise to help on my site. firstly, I upgraded to 4.3.1 & bought the newspaper theme. the visual editor is not working, I can only use the “text” editor to writing any contents.
I tried the basic solutions:
1) disable all the plugin
2) Reinstall OS
3) Down grade version to 4.3
It still not working, please kindly help me to solve the problems.
My site is hosting on Hong Kong, have apply the cloudfare on it.
Thanks To Everyone! I have solved!
The problem was in plugins, because they were not installed in to theme. Theme were not rendered properly.
Dear Creators
I started new blog and installed Newspaper theme.
I started to install one of your predefined themes. I installed them with demo content but the page renders with errors in all of them.
Note: i did not adjust anything, i uploaded demos to the white blank site.
The web page is: http://howtomake.wiki/
Couple of this errors are:
[vc_row parallax_image=””][vc_column width=”1/1″]
[/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”” parallax=”” parallax_image=””][vc_column width=”2/3″]
[/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][td_block_social_counter custom_title=”STAY CONNECTED” facebook=”envato” twitter=”envato” youtube=”tagDiv” open_in_new_window=”y”]
I just purchased. Installed the tech demo. Opened my Android phone with 5.0.1 Android. Opened my site and I get junk. If I click the button to show the full site it works. Check it out. VRUX.co If it looks OK, go to the bottom and choose show mobile site and you’ll see it’s broken. Very disappointed that you didn’t bother to test this. Please fix it.
make sure you delete the old js-composer folder in the plugins folder, and install the NEW version that comes with WP6/6.5. Hope that helps.
Be sure to clear all caching in both website, if used, and your web browser.
