My website http://www.observerxtra.com on mobile version displays a white screen with the text:
“The mobile theme path couldn’t be set. Please check if you already have another mobile theme plugin active and disable it (ex. Jetpack Mobile Theme or similar) If you use a cache plugin clear it before checking the results.”
When I updated the site last night, the mobile was working. I even changed the colour and it was working great. By the morning, without touching the site again the error message is displayed. Have to say when it was working I really liked it. Much faster which is super important for mobile — thank you for creating this add on. When I can get it working on our site it will be a great asset.
I don’t have another mobile theme plugin installed or Jetpack. I am hosted on WPengine and they look after cache and don’t allow cache plugins. I cleared the cache for page and object but nothing has changed. I updated all of my plugins.
After the upgrade to v7 my pages have gone wonky in the background – especially my homepage which I can’t get into anymore to edit. I read that Visual Composer was breaking these pages and not the theme, however, I have the latest visual composer and something is wonky with my current pages. If I start a fresh new page everything looks fine.
I would super appreciate if someone can take a look.
This worked for me too: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-theme-language-no-translation-available/
So everything is ok now.
greetings, frank
They say to deactivate all your plugins, clear your cache and CDN files, and then go into the Theme Panel and click on the Save Settings button.
I tried all these options and it didn’t work. The only way I was able to make it work was by hiding it via CSS. That purple gradient is actually the Mobile Menu background.
Here is the CSS code that I used to hide that background on the Desktop and Tablet versions of the site, while still having it show for Mobile Phones.
/* -==========================- DESKTOP -==========================- */
@media only screen and (min-width:1024px) {
.td-menu-background:before { display: none; }
}
/* -==========================- TABLET -==========================- */
@media only screen and (min-width:640px) and (max-width:1023px) {
.td-menu-background:before { display: none; }
}
If using a Child theme or editing the main theme, place that CSS at the very bottom of the Stylesheet (style.css). Again, this was the only way I was able to remove it while still allowing it to work on phones. Hope this helps you.
As you can see…by hiding it on the desktop version, it no longer shows. https://i.imgsafe.org/ef2118f.jpg

ps: same with SEARCH in Mobile-Theme-Header – it should be “Suche” in German.
no, its not like you wrote. theme panel-translations take no effect on the new mobile theme!
in translations i wrote a translation for “About us” in German “Über uns” – but in mobile theme on smartphone it is still “ABOUT US”.
Also no translationoption for: Latest Articles, Contact us and Follow us (in Footer).
would be nice, if i could handle the translation with theme-panel ->translation… 🙂
frank
The problem is confirmed.
Worked for me:
1. Enable mobile plugin.
2. Try manually overwrite the language strings of translation in Theme panel – Translations and Save settings.

where i can get mobile theme plugin ?
Hi, just installed v7, and after a few changes in the given config it’s working fine.
Little trouble left with the New Mobile Theme. It shows Posts with the category “Featured” on the homepage first. I would like to have Posts with a given Tag (“Top-News” in my case). Homepage for PC-Site is configurated like this. Does not show “Featured”-Posts but articles with the Tag “Top-News”.
Would you please help me? Thanks in advice. Peter
Salut,
<!-- T5 Badge -->
<span id="t5_zone_standard_b"></span>
<!-- T5 Badge --><!-- T5 JS -->
<script type="text/javascript">
var t5_wid='65763864';
var t5_badge='standard_b';
(function() {
var t5r = document.createElement('script'); t5r.type = 'text/javascript'; t5r.async = true;
t5r.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://' : 'http://') + 's.t5.ro/static/t5-stats.js';
var t5s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; t5s.parentNode.insertBefore(t5r, t5s);
})();
</script>
<!-- T5 JS --><!--/Start async trafic.ro/-->
<script type="text/javascript" id="trfc_trafic_script">
//<![CDATA[
t_rid = 'itutorial-ro';
(function(){ t_js_dw_time=new Date().getTime();
t_js_load_src=((document.location.protocol == 'http:')?'http://storage.':'https://secure.')+'trafic.ro/js/trafic.js?tk='+(Math.pow(10,16)*Math.random())+'&t_rid='+t_rid;
if (document.createElement && document.getElementsByTagName && document.insertBefore) {
t_as_js_en=true;var sn = document.createElement('script');sn.type = 'text/javascript';sn.async = true; sn.src = t_js_load_src;
var psn = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0];psn.parentNode.insertBefore(sn, psn); } else {
document.write(unescape('%3Cscri' + 'pt type="text/javascript" '+'src="'+t_js_load_src+';"%3E%3C/sc' + 'ript%3E')); }})();
//]]>
</script>
<noscript><p>Web analytics</p></noscript>

Hi,
the ads on the mobile theme are different than the ads on the desktop version so they need to be added in the mobile theme settings here: http://screencast.com/t/Fkokxgeg1
You can read more about the mobile theme here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thank you!
Hello fajrialhadi,
Please notice that this is not a problem with our Newspaper 7 !!! This is just the behaviour of this type of additional mobile theme plugin. If you have enabled the mobile theme, the pages will be displayed in the simple mode and you can only add your desired text which will appear on your mobile view. Please notice that this simple core for the mobile theme has been designed for a fast page loading, speed, clean content and relevant information. Also, if you are using the mobile theme, your home page will not display you the original page but only the big grid and the related articles because the Visual Composer not working for the mobile theme, though. If you do not want to have this behaviour for your mobile mode, you simply disable the tagDiv Mobile theme plugin from plugins area, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/uoSa0R9CUL6
For more information about our new feature, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
I did that and also deleted theme and mobile plugin settings from database. after that i did a clean install and the issue still exists. this issue didn’t appear in the old version of the theme. I don’t think it’s because of the RTL content.
Unfortunately no luck.
I have disabled ALL but your plugins,
I cleared the server cache, restarted the server (nginx+ redis + hhvm)
Installed new chrome dev browser (Google Nexus 6P) to check and the following STRINGS appear in English language instead of GERMAN:
– ABOUT US
– FOLLOW US
– LATEST ARTICLES
Other language strings are okay, meaning the translation appears. When the mobile plugin is disabled, the above mentioned languages strings are okay.
On the other hand if it is only my specific problem and not a theme BUG I will try to solve it on my own.
To update – all is well with the update now – but the mobile theme strips ads out – because they’re not Google Ads they are sold by myself to local businesses is there a way to use the mobile theme with the ads still there?
Happy either way but would be good to know – already lost native ads on AMP AND Facebook Instant Articles and so have to show them on the mobile version of the site – if not will switch it off but would be good to get speed benefits.
Thanks
Pat
Hi Catalin,
Thanks for your reply. So this is not a bug, this is really about the behavior of mobile themes.
My conclusion, if I have a site with multiple pages would be better if I do not use mobile themes Plugin, right?
If I may suggestion: Can we have more options for where and when the mobile theme to be displayed? For example: Use mobile theme for the types of posts, Use mobile theme for the types of pages, etc. IMHO
Thank you in advance,
Hello aktifje,
Please ensure that you have cleared all your caches and purge your CDN files if you are using the CDN and test it again.
For your second problem, please notice that this is just the behaviour of this type of additional mobile theme plugin. If you have enabled the mobile theme, the pages will be displayed in the simple mode and you can only add your desired text which will appear on your mobile view. Please notice that this simple core for the mobile theme has been designed for a fast page loading, speed, clean content and relevant information. Hello nurrohmat,
I have checked your website and I saw that your mobile menu is working as properly now. Please be careful in this case because I saw that you are using a lot of untested plugins which could interfere in theme and might generate a lot of unknown issues. I recommend you to use the theme only with our tested plugin for best results.
Thank you for your understanding!
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Cannot redeclare class Mobile_Detect in /home/mummysginfund/public_html/wp-content/plugins/td-mobile-plugin/Mobile_Detect.php on line 29
I am using a child theme.
Hi,
Sorry for that, the issue is only on mobiles it seems. I only checked through an emulator but on checking with mobile devices, the issue is there again. It seems the issue was not fixed neither by the new version of WP nor the theme update.
Hello mrmad,
I have done some tests in this regard and the Translations are working fine on the mobile theme, as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/5GAP61vNT Please try without any untested plugins because it might be possible to appear some interference in the theme and create this issues. Try to disable all your untested plugins, install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme, clear all your caches and check the results.
For more information about this case, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/loading-translations/
Thanks.
Hi,
I had disable all plugin and just activate the original plugin that come with the updates files but still no luck. This problem occurred after upgrading to version 7.
To make things worst, i can’t view my page in smartphone if I activated the TagDiv Mobile Theme plugin.
Hi,
@wildmercury the back-end changes if you activate the mobile theme as on pages there will be an extra mce editor for the mobile theme page. You can edit this page but not with visual composer. That is why you have the “strange” changes in tehe back-end because there are 2 editors now. One for desktop and one for mobile. If you deactivate the mobile theme, the second editor will be gone.
As for the social counter, please make sure you have version 4.0 installed and then follow this guide to properly set it up: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/
@eddycom Something might have gone wrong with the installation of the theme or the update. Please remove the theme altogether via ftp and access your wp-admin without the theme and see if there is still an error. Then install the theme following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thank you!
In my case the page has only texts in it without anything else. But, whenver I click on a page link on mobile theme, it just shows me the page title.. The text is invisible. I think that’s an issue here not simplification.
