Hello!

Yes, we have this option. If you use a cloud/PRO template, then you will have a settings for the header menu zone called Display and you can choose fixed top option from the list and you will have a header static when a user scrolls through the page. Also, for the mobile version you can just click on the mobile viewport and you will have the same settings as well.

Thank you!

Hello!

This situation appear when you are using the mobile theme plugin and the cache plugin that you have does not feature options for a separate mobile theme plugin therefore do not know when to deliver the mobile version and when to deliver the desktop version.
We tested with our theme the WP Super Cache and with the settings from our guide this is working correctly: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Hope that helps you!

Thank you!

Hi Vlad,

Thank you so much for the support. I appreciate it. I removed the mobile theme for the homepage and the mobile now works responsive and not show the latest articles only.

I have another problem though. After doing that, whenever I browse using the browser, the mobile page appears on the homepage. I have attached the screenshot of how it appears when it’s not in mobile and the mobile site that looks a bit stripped down. How can I resolve that? Thank you in advance.

Hello !

The content has to be inserted in the Mobile Editor as you can see here: https://www.screencast.com/t/FIlxZLKsQQFI Please note that the mobile editor does not read shortcodes.

Thank you !

Hello,

The Mobile Theme is a performance optimized theme included in the Newspaper main theme and it loads only for mobile devices. It comes with its own templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. For more details, please take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
For AMP you can use mobile theme plugin and use this option => https://www.screencast.com/t/uOOZoezrSR then the mobile theme layout will apply only for AMP, and if you want to have AMP pages, not only AMP post then you need to set for pages a page content in the mobile editor (content made without builders). => https://www.screencast.com/t/xbgZG8kH
Also, to increase the page speed you can check these similar topics for more solutions:

Please note that page speed is not covered by the support team: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-support/
Also, our developers are working to improve the page speed, so we hope in short time we will deliver the improvement in the future updates.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi, I’m still with the problem, auto-ads in AMP version are not working. The necessary codes are there (you can check with the code source). Adsense in AMP is working if I insert one amp-ad code manually in the mobile theme (inline ads). Can you check a url like this https://www.premarathon.com/garmin-instinct-esports-especial-streaming/?amp

Hi,

So if I remove the mobile theme plugin, I will see the site as is and not just see the latest articles page? Thank you.

The Newspaper theme has a really great header design. Unfortunately, with Google changing its algorithm to include Core Web Vitals in May 2021, this will penalize sites with Content Layout Shift (CLS). Is there a way to keep the header static when a user scrolls through the page (both on desktop and mobile).

My site is here.

Hi jornalosaopaulo.
Thanks for your advice, I will.
But are you sure you haven’t saved the file in woff2 format and renamed it to woff?

The icons in svg are an optimal solution to not load a font unnecessarily and not to have that small change on the rendering. At least those on mobile, where the connection is slower.

Yes, optimizing this theme should work much better on some. There are themes and page builders that are much more optimized for page loading, they should adapt too so as not to lose customers.
I am still using WP Bakery on some sites, though despite having its backend issues, it is much lighter. On two very similar sites I have WPbakery and Newspapers.
The optimized html homepage of WPbakery is heavy about 45kb (with logo in svg) and with a 110kb total .js file without advertising (there are about 40 active plugins) and 198kb with AdSense, in a test site with Newspaper theme I have 163kb of page html and 2.3MB of .js files without AdSense (there are about 10 active plugins).

Screenshot WPbakery:

Screenshot Newspaper:

How come you don’t work on this?

I have deactivated this plugin. I am not sure if it will have some negativa effects or not.

I have a link to Twitter in the mobile menu. I am not using the block called “Social Counters” anywhere since it doesn’t include the social media I want to use anyway.

It says in the plugins under the theme in red REQUIRED now. I cannot see any bad effects for the website though.

Is it safe to have it disabled?

It still persists.
The problem is Page Insights read still my page in the way as for the desktop.
For example:

In mobile version it should have default optimized mobile theme from newspaper

Hi, it works fine in that format and in most. It’s only when using the “smallest” version of the mobile sticky menu that causes the issue. Here’s another example using Google Dev Tools so you can recreate it on your end:

Hello, as I explained it is the new template for mobile, so the link is the web, but you have to pass it to mobile vision to see it, the link is https://newscaribe.com and it is at the end.

Hi, Vlad!

Not trying to be rude or anything, but you do recognize that this CDN is not mine, but from Google, right?

Something (I don’t know if from AMP plugin, or from Mobile Theme) is calling more than once this javascripts…

Hei,
when I change to mobile view, two columns out of four show up underneath each other. how can I make it show the four columns which I have already in desktop view?

what-the
tagDiv Member

It won’t work with the design layout. With mobile view the content on the 1st row right column will be in-between the title and feature image and the post content. It will look off. So I guess we are out of luck.

Hi,

I think that the problem is that you have set the “Redirect mobile visitors to AMP” -> https://www.screencast.com/t/pckkmejuXJiz if you have this option enable, please disable it, then the mobile version will no longer be redirected to the amp version.

Let me know the results!

Thank you!

Hi, so now it is different version of mobile web on my iPad – and iPhone, too than on my Macbook. Do you see this, too? I don’t understand why it is… Thank you for help.

Hello !

The Mobile theme was specially designed for optimization on mobile devices. Unfortunately on mobile theme you cannot do much changes of design. If you want to have the same design as on desktop mode you can achieve that by simply disabling the mobile theme.

You will have to recreate your pages into the Mobile editor or completely disable the mobile theme. The mobile editor will not render shortcodes: https://www.screencast.com/t/K3MRri2RjuI !

Thank you !
