I hope I am not bothering with trying to help here but I have used Adsense before on this theme and they do work on the ads section in themepanel. You have to add the ad code to where it says paste your code here. It then place the ad there in that place for the code you want it placed but there is a wait.

Now if you just signed up with Adsense as a new account, it takes up to a week to be approved and you can add the code to the site and set them up but you will not see anything for up to a week even if google says you are approved. There are chances that it could be sooner but to be warned it could take up to a week to show on your site.

As I sad that, now if you already had Adsense account and just adding the codes to your site via the theme being new to your website, it can take up to two or three days to show even if you are already approved. I have tried all the positions in the ad section of the themepanel for header, sidebar, article top, article inline, article bottom and custom ads but not the background ad. I never tried the background ad but all the other sections just add the Adsense codes and they should eventually show up.

It should never take more than a week to show on website though. I just wanted to give you my experience on using Adsense with the ad features of the theme. I stopped using Adsense because they don’t offer payout by paypal. Hope that helps. Also, for sidebars you still have to use the tagdiv ads widget. Ads for pages using the ad box element via visual composer.

There should be no need to add any code to themes templates in the theme. Just in the ad section in themepanel, unless you want different placements than the ad features then you hard code into the theme templates.

I would buy this plugin also. Or happily use it if it was integrated into the theme.

We currently have a few workarounds that help with this within Newspaper – but they aren’t perfect.

User/Author Account for “Sponsored Content” – So wherever the author’s name normally appears, including some slots on the home page, “Sponsored Content” appears. The Admin has to manually change the author from the original poster and assign it to Sponsored Content. This also allows the inclusion of a disclaimer in the Author Box at the bottom of the page. You can see it in this screen grab in the main featured image for the Oktoberfest story:

Sponsored Content Category – Our sponsored content mingles with other categories, and many items overlap across multiple categories. All paid stories are placed in all relevant categories, including “Sponsored Content.” This places a Category label at the top of the page. We keep it black so it stands out next to the multi-colored other options.

Post Expirator – We use this plug in to relocate stories after their run is over. We leave all stories up permanently, because even some out of date stories bring in a lot of traffic. However, we use this to recategorize them and move them away from visibility on the site. You could use it to archive or otherwise turn off an active story at a set time. This can be scheduled at the time the post is created.

All that said, we’d still love something that makes it more explicit/clear on all sponsored images, as shown in Loiborg’s example links in the original post.

I think there’s some confusion here. Let me be more clear with my questions:

A) I’m not saying something is blocking the ads, I mean: I would like to remove adsense on some specific posts or pages. Now i’ve got 500 pages and the ads appear on all the 500 pages, which is not good for me. I need to remove adsense ads on certain posts and leave it on some others. Please tell me how to do that.Thanks.

it works when we add link directly to the box within theme option http://screencast.com/t/jY8hjVLI, but we need to get script in to the background, just like every other ads on the web. is it possible to make the background ad same as all the others? when we use script it show the image but link doesnt work.

I would not worry too much about IE7 or WinXP at this point as that browser is so insecure that pretty much the bulk of the web is starting to kill any support for it; especially SSL connections since SSL2/SSL3, TLS1 are all insecure. Of course some folks want to keep legacy support for the old folks. However, as web heads toward “https everywhere” the oooold browsers simply will not work with TLS 1.2+ connections, probably.

Jquery 2x only works with IE9+.

I went through this last year when moving our main business site to “all https all the time” on Dec. 1, 2014, and making the jquery connection https, then deciding to load it locally for speed/caching locally.

We are using a slightly older version of the theme (4.6.3) and of WPBakery Visual Composer (4.4.4)… so I’m not sure if that makes a difference here. But I went to Settings > Visual Composer… and went under ‘Administrator’ and told it to ‘select all’ (all of the boxes were unchecked). However, that didn’t seem to fix it. The homepage still shows the incorrect modules (see screenshot). Strangely, this seems to be the only affected page. The other pages show the correct modules within the Visual Composer.

The forum is on the tagdiv web server — not Envato. Envato can’t “cut off your account” on this forum. Only cut off additional downloads from the ThemeForest repository.

I think this has become necessary for some theme developers who deal with 5 hours of tech support for folks who buy a $59 theme; then a year later want another 5 hours of support. Nobody can make a living that way. I’ve been one of many (sorry!), pushing this idea the past 3 years on ThemeForest so theme authors can make a living *and* continue to develop and support products for clients.

For example, client buys v2 of theme – works great, gets bunch of support for customizations, site is awesome. 2 years later new super version theme comes, out customer gets it free, and now wants ANOTHER bunch of support for customizations and “how do I get it to work with plugin XYZ” … that’s crazy for a company to offer for a $50-60 product.

Otherwise they would have to at some point charge for support tickets unrelated to an ‘actual” bug or theme issue. Like the guy on Newspaper them who was “furious” over problem, and got all sorts of support, turned out it was issue with Cloudflare. Wow, huge time waster for TagDiv.

So I would not panic if you’re an existing customer – sky not falling – get your site setup, and get on with your life and make great content. TagDiv has already said they will continue to support existing clients, as they have done the past couple of years — often going above and beyond for clients who REALLY need to learn to use WP before coming here at all.

Sorry – not trying to be a troll or war of words, or anything, these are just my thoughts and reflect no policy or anything from the company or anybody else — just an opinion.

We started to sell themes 6 years ago and stopped doing so due to this very issue … folks really want a theme developer to help them debug their server, their plugins, their photos, their life, their coffeecake, and that’s just not reasonable in any business case. Hopefully some middle ground will be found, and 6 months is plenty of time for a buyer to get support on setup, shoot down bugs, etc for the small amount being paid.

You’re on the right lines but I’m not sure why it’s trying to add 2 images?

To recap my method:

You are working on a normal post and not working in VC just the plain old editor

Add your title for the first page in H3 format so if your post was called 3 ways to skin a cat it would look something like this

Your post settings need to be as follows

POST STYLE 7 under the GENERAL tab
SMART LIST 3 under the SMART LIST tab

Set the side bar position as the 3rd position from the left, the one with no sidebar showing if you want it full width

Not sure if it makes a difference but I have clicked the images and set them to be “Align Centre” in the grey box above the image after I have uploaded them via the “add media” button

Your screen shot from the editor looks to be correct so I’m not sure why that isn’t working for you, I’ve tried another test on my site and everything seems to be working as it should. I am running the latest version of the theme and the older of the 2 posts in the links below was published in March so it’s been an option of the theme for a while.

I can’t replicate the double image problem you are having, maybe it’s some sort of plugin conflict?

This post setup does tend to have an effect on some other post functionality, I still can’t add google ads in the post either through the panel or via adding an ad box widget via VC

Sorry for jumping in, but again it’s related 🙂

You can make a similar smart list by selecting post template 7 and then selecting smart list 3 in the “smart list” tab in your post settings.

You start the post with a H3 heading then add your image below (I use 300×350) if I have a sidebar on the page then add your text below that, your next section of the post follows below that in the same format so your H3 heading for the next step in the article acts as your page break. If you follow? So it goes like this…

H3 heading (page break)
300×350 image
Your article text
H3 heading (page break for 2nd page)
300×350 image
Your article text
H3 heading (page break for 3rd page)
300×350 image
Your article text
H3 heading (page break for 4th page )

You get the same effect but it does look a little cramped with a small image and not a lot of space for text if you have the sidebar active.

I can’t get my Google ads to show at the bottom of the post for some reason even though they are set to show in post and at the top and bottom of a post. Maybe you can add a large image to fill the top part of the container and then push the text and a square Google ad as shown in the link so it sits beside the text? I haven’t tried that yet.

This method used to be shown on the demo but doesn’t seem to be on there now, not sure why that is? Maybe it’s obsolete or had problems???????

I’ve just tried to disable the sidebar and this makes the post full width. You can do this by disabling the sidebar in the post settings by altering the sidebar position

I’m guessing if you use a larger image and change the style of the pagination then the only other thing you need is a way of adding a Google ad to this specific post type or adding one in the editor? Not sure how you do that as I’m new to ads but I’ll give it a try

Did you test your post for errors from plugins using the ‘console’ in Chrome or similar ?

Google sometimes has problems and you have to resave, retry the share to get it to work. I run into this with Google News and the G+ and Twitter share; sometimes leads to wrong item, and then I have to go back and hit share again. Happens with all themes, not just this one.

Might not be related to your issue, but just food for thought.

If your OG tags are correct, and there are no console errors on your page, the theme cannot “change what Google grabs” — if you look at your title, description, and other meta data and it’s correct, Google will pull from those first unless they have some hiccups with your site unrelated to theme.

But I’m sure if you post a link to example page, TagDiv support will be happy to look for you 🙂
