I just bought the Newspaper theme and I am overstrained with everything! I want my theme to look exactly like http://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/full_screen_preview/5489609
But if I choose the theme option for “Travel”, every single post appears and not the “portfolio-like” order of the pictures. Where should I start? Or can the support team help me in installing/ setting up my theme like in the option “travel” as an admin? Thanks
1) Do you include a free update WPBakery Visual Composer from version 4.9 to 4.11 in the theme package? If yes, please educate.
2) How to increase the size of block title in all block settings?
3) Is it possible to customise the look of the block title?
4) How can I increase the height of the header? Now I’m using “full dark menu with logo”.
5) Under ‘Latest articles’ section in http://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/full_screen_preview/5489609 , which content block do you use? Block 5? If it’s block 5, then why the dimensions of the featured images look more rectangular than mine (www.feelthecar.com)

I suppose that you are referring to these marked up, like this -> https://developers.google.com/structured-data/rich-snippets/ Being a theme designed for news/advertising, our product uses only the marked up specific for this kind of niche (Review, Article) and we are not going to introduce to the future other types of marked up. If you want to have more types of these you have to introduce them but please notice that is not a simple task and involves custom work. If you want to display more levels in our theme and you are not aware to the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to do this for you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!

Version 6.6.5 is the latest version of the theme. There is no update released yet. You probably saw the last updated status on themeforest. That is because we updated the preview image for our theme description and the date was changed automatically, but there was no theme update uploaded.

I’m working in WP 4.4.2 & Newspaper 6.6.4.
The theme settings are set to auto Lightbox pictures… In one instance I have an ad at the bottom of a post that rather than wanting it to go to Lightbox, I want it to a custom url – this is set – I cannot attach anything to this post so I cannot show the settings.
Needless to say that the ‘modal image’ is set to off and the image set to ‘custom url’.

Of course I understand that the theme is setting a default action, but I cannot understand how to override it.

I have just purchased and installed the newspappers theme. Also, the demo content was just installed, but it dont appears to be as it is on the Preview. Here : http://struma24.com I want to be just like on the Demo (http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/) , so I can just start to change the button names.
Also, there are some codes, which appears on the page ( above the Trending now line for example ).

Well in the end I went for Yoast Glue – WP Auttomatic AMP AND PageFrog – saw the combo recommended (then saw you warn about PF today) but it is all working well – logo/images/previews so will see if they come through ok

Read the docs on the AMP plugin as good first step.
AMP only loads content in the actual content box. Anything else “outside” the post, you have to add by editing the AMP plugin template. This solution makes it easier for people with different needs, templates, custom post types, etc., to enable what they want — which varies from site to site.
AMP is not required, but will get some bump in mobile search with the little AMP lightning bolt next to SERPS listings and also appear in the news carousel, where non-AMP versions will not.
YOAST SEO and Glue addon are useful for dropping in additional things to align the AMP version with the main version of post, default image, etc.
It’s all still a work in progress obviously. First step is actually having AMP pages so Google can see you’re moving to AMP, then they will “see” that and add AMP spidering to your Search Console for review.
The setting right below Admin is supposed to have rights to edit, change posts, unless you have plugin or function which broke that. Admin level allows adding plugins, removing plugins, changing main settings, changing theme. The user role below that allows all content options except main “admin” functions.
Summary of Roles
Super Admin – somebody with access to the site network administration features and all other features. See the Create a Network article.
Administrator – somebody who has access to all the administration features within a single site.
Editor – somebody who can publish and manage posts including the posts of other users.
Author – somebody who can publish and manage their own posts.
Contributor – somebody who can write and manage their own posts but cannot publish them.
Subscriber – somebody who can only manage their profile.

You can create a new user role, or change the setting of each user role.
But “editor” by default can make changes.
To change the settings for Visual Composer, which is not part of the theme or WordPress, you can change the user roles for Visual Composer also.

Re-read the Google page
the canonical tag tells Google which version of the URL to any page on your site is the correct one
e.g.,
http://www.yoursite.ooo/name-of-post/
vs
http//yoursite.ooo/name-of-post/
are two different URLs
and if you move to https, that introduces yet another variation.
Using the canonical link on all your pages — as per the Google docs, and hundreds of online articles you can review to self-educate yourself, tells the world “which version” is the “primary actual defacto official one and only best link to use page” … this is how you remove any confusion for which is which, and also ensures no duplicate content issues. And if you move to https, changing the canonical helps instantly identify the new corrected URL to use for an existing page, regardless of 301 redirects.

Sites are built something like this

so theme not critical – the plugin is usually what adds the functionality to create accounts, shopping, directories, forums, etc.
Just like WooCommerce is a plugin, not a ‘theme’ — point is, you have a great theme. You just need to look at the plugins, or forms/addon systems that do this. After 12 years of WordPress, you’re not first person to build a directory, so there are LOTS of resources online for “how to” do this.
Not theme specific, in other words.

Last week I started having trouble with uploading media such as the featured images –was getting an “Http Error”.
On “larger” images 125k+ was getting “Internal Server Error” (see images included in folder link below)
Tried both WP image upload methods and still had the problem.
I thought it might be a server problem timing out or something. I Called the host company GoDaddy, they found no problem.
I then turned off ALL plugins and the problem still continued.
Then, I uninstalled the NewsMag Theme and put in the generic WP theme and the uploading problem was solved.
Reinstalled NewsMag and it started again.
I managed to get some images to upload but… Oddly… when they do upload, the file name but not the actual thumbnail preview appears in the in the library.
I ran the Regenerate Thumbnail plugin on individual images and that fixed it –I was able to post normally.
With the most recent post though, I can’t get it to appear on mobile (yes more complicated! haha)
I sent three images below for you to see.
One is of the post. You can see the main image of the girl with glasses smiling. When I try to post on Facebook, it’s not reading the featured image.
And in the other screenshot I sent you can see that the featured image is not appearing on in the Block (it does on PC but not on mobile –tried Safari and Chrome and cleared caches on both.
In other words, I’ve tried everything and something is still wrong.

Hi, We use DFP to power our ads on our site.
We have about 6 different types of pages (Home, Movie Reviews, Photos, Box Office numbers, Polls, Videos), and will need to serve different ad tags depending on mobile or web.
On a given page, we would want to have 3 or 4 locations for an ad – e.g. header, footer, sidebar, in-article ads
And there would be different tags for mobile and desktop.
1) How do you recommend the ad slots are declared ? Would it be necessary to define 6 X 4 x 2 ad slots ?
2) Correspondingly, how would you recommend the ad slots are defined in your themes / page types, to get called per device and page type ?
Our primary goal is to be able to report and target based on page type and device, without having to lose too much hair managing the multiple ad slots.

You can change the review font size with this custom css:
.td-review .td-review-desc, .td-review-summary-content{
font-size:20px!important
}
You simply add the code in the theme panel ->custom css box. If you want to revert changes, you simply delete it from there.

Hello Bogan, I have tried to use the youtube video playlist in the visual composer component on newspaper 6
When I add the videos as directed by the instructions, no videos show.
I emailed support for visual composer and this was their response. Can you help me as far as is this a newspaper component?

The “Youtube video playlist” is not our standard element. It is most likely added by your theme author to enhance the theme functionality or is coming from a third party add-on. You can check our standard elements/features by creating an online demo here: http://vcpreview.com/

Not sure if this has to do with WordPress or Newspaper, but I noted a strange thing. While editing individual post setting https://gyazo.com/0e3d62f1f50b69054865e704547b8286 if I click on a different template and Preview changes and leave the page *without* clicking on Update, the new setting becomes permanent. To ensure it wasn’t due to cache, I went back and forth and seems like there is an issue. You may want to look into it. Thanks.
So on the home page of my website, near the top I am using the “Tabs” under “Structure” in Visual Composer. Under each of the four tabs I’m using, there’s a Block 14, with each tab’s Block 14 having posts from a different category.
(Hopefully that much makes sense, but have a look if you need a more clarification.)
The first tab (“Reviews”) shows up by default and anytime you click on that tab, the browser window will scroll so that the reviews tab is at the top of the window. However, when you click on any of the other tabs, the window scrolls past the tabbed content and stops basically underneath of it, making a viewer have to then scroll back up a couple clicks to see the content in the tab he or she just clicked.
Is there a way to fix this?
