I’m Trying to convert and customize AMP using NewsPaperX theme but the changes were not reflecting on AMP what ever I did.
It showing only default articles without any sidebar and form as it used to show on desk top version.
Below are the list of queries :
1.Which Template is loading in AMP version ?
2.If I make changes to that Layout does it support ?
3.Can we convert NewsPaperX theme in AMP ?
Please suggest how can I proceed for converting it into AMP.

Hi there, I’m unable to get comments working with the Newpaper theme and Jetpack social comments installed. It shows the Google and Facebook icons but when I click the Facebook login icon to leave a comment, the loading bar just keeps loading, never allowing me to comment. Please help. Example page:

I was reading Jetpack’s documentation and they mention that if the comments.php file of my theme doesn’t have “comment_form()” in it then the theme is using an old way of commenting. I did the search in the Newspaper theme comments.php and it doesn’t have the comment form piece, meaning it’s doing commenting in the old WordPress way (pre 3.0).

For the newsletter form, there’s no validation provided at the frontend. For example, users can click the subscribe button without filling in the form, and the tagDiv newsletter form will submit it and take the user to a new page without asking them to fill it first.
So it will be good to add required in the HTML code at least for an email address. Because one cannot subscribe to the newsletter without providing their email address. Name field, city field, etc can be left empty but not the email address field.
And if it’s possible, we should be able to select if we want to keep the field required or not. For example, the checkbox field. Some checkboxes should be required like the “agreement to privacy policy” checkbox and some should be not required like the option to select if users want marketing tips etc. I know this requires a little more work because it would require some changes to be made with tagDiv composer or you have to fetch if the field is required or not from the form embed code from their classes or keywords, etc, but the email address one(the first one) is easy because it always has to be required and it only needs a word to be added in HTML — required.

Usually the problem that you descried appear when you have a plugin conflict, for example when you are using tagDiv Cloud Library with WPBakery.
Please try only with theme plugins, if the problem persists, please provide a link where I can inspect the situation.

He said to insert a shortcode from wpforms and that it would work with the mobile theme and AMP — you’re saying it will not work. This is confusing coming from the same team.
All I need to do is add a simple form with an email field that’s connected to my Mailchimp account to the AMP version of my site. Is this possible or not?

The Mobile theme was specially designed for optimization on mobile devices. Unfortunately on mobile theme you cannot do much changes of design. If you want to have the same design as on desktop mode you can achieve that by simply disabling the mobile theme.
You will have to recreate your pages into the Mobile editor or completely disable the mobile theme. The mobile editor will not render shortcodes !
Also you can disable mobile theme on certain pages or posts by following this setting:

I deleted the MintyPro template that I was working on. It just seemed like it was more trouble than it was worth. I also was having save problems in TagDiv Composer. I could only save once and then it would not save again.
I have given up on trying a separate template for mobile. Now I would just like my desktop template to display in Mobile. I can’t seem to do that. Right now for my desktop home page the editing screen for mobile is blank. However mobile display’s something that I don’t seem to have much control over. I have my Amp plug-in set to transitional. Should I set it to something else?

Currently, I am using Newspaper 10.3 Theme. Can I just buy a new license to update it to 10.3.2 ?
Or if I install the new theme, will I have to completely rebuild the website? In otherwords,
I would like to update from 10.3 to 10.3.2 without having to do anything to the design of the website.
Is this a “turn-key” update so to speak, or will this update disrupt the current build of the website?
ALSO: Is there anything I need to do to prepare for the new WordPress 5.6 update?

Hello Vlad. Thank you for the response. Unfortunately, it has proven to be challenging for me to do all the resizing – certainly not practical and kind of impossible in reality. This is why I did ample research on your theme, including speaking with your colleague on my requirements prior to purchase.
However, this didn’t turn out well. And I tried various ways to see how I can make it work, but to no avail. In the end, I had to approach you for your kind assistance.
Will a custom plugin that forces the generation of images (to my needs) be a possible solution for Newspaper theme? In detail, I was using such a plugin to generate the right thumbnails for my current theme.

It’s look like the problem is that the code is not working for amp, I tested it in amp header files wp-content/plugins/td-composer/mobile/header-amp.php and the script is not working with amp. Therefore this code can not be display on amp version that is coming with our theme, sorry! but this code will work for desktop and responsive version.

The post view count from our theme is count all enters on posts, for example if you refresh a post this will be count, for standard post template -> https://i.imgur.com/IxB1jfM.png if you are using cache plugins you need to use this option -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/ajax-view-count/
The view counter can be change, stop or reset, also you have the possibility to set manually the number of view, go in posts and enable the custom fields -> https://i.imgur.com/NavHTFn.png after that down in post will appear the the custom field options -> https://i.imgur.com/waKZBHe.png chnage it -> https://i.imgur.com/NAFEi9p.png and check the results.
The theme will count using the theme counter and analytics counts using it’s own counter. There is no simple way to make them both work using the same parameters. The real and unique value for your visitors is given by Google Analytics. Our post view counter will count any post-visualization, even if the post is visited twice by the same person and that’s why appear that difference.
