is there a setting that removes the option for a main menu to have a drop down. i want to be able to just click the main menu items.. i don’t want a drop down of sub-menus. i don’t see any option to remove that and i don’t see any cloud menus to download that are not drop down. thank you.

I have an error with a filter in the header,
It is not showing the latest posts, and I can’t change the filter as it won’t let me select it. I had already presented this error, and you had to enter the site because it does not allow me to select the section where the filter appears. Do I need to email your login details again to fix this before my support ends?

Where it says “No posts” is where the image of the most recent post should appear as a background, but I can’t select it to change the filter.

I’ve been through the archives of this forum and many people have had the problem of mobile version showing on desktop, desktop version showing on mobile, etc.

From my tests, this all comes down to Cloudflare rather than any plugins. I may be wrong, but this is my experience.

Here is what causes it:

Firstly, enabling Cloudflare, using minify, Browli, etc., is fine.

What causes the mobile/desktop problem is the Page Rule: yoururl.com/* – Cache Everything

As soon as that rule which many find essential to running their site – is enabled, the problem starts.

One recommendation I saw was to select ‘Respect Existing Headers’ under Browser Cache TTL. However, that did not fix the problem for me.

So the issue is, Cloudflare + Cache Everything can break Newspaper by mixing up mobile and desktop.

I’d be interested to know if the developers have any new insight on this besides the recommended Cloudflare settings (they do not fix this problem). Could there be a work around/fix?

I would also be interested to hear from those who do have Cache Everything set and *don’t* have the mobile/desktop theme mix-up. Do you have any idea why it could break some Newspaper themes and not others?

I am using Leaky Paywall to restrict content on this page, but as you can see it doesn’t display properly.

I am using Single Post Template 49 – Art Magazine (unmodified). But if I use Style 1 (Theme Panel/Post Settings) the post displays properly.

Does this mean all Single Post Templates are incompatible with Leaky Paywall? Is there a solution or am I trapped with Theme Panel templates only, meaning no ad placement possible within posts, and no customisation?

I had a similar problem with bad display of posts using Leaky Paywall when I created a custom footer as a page. That was solved by using the Theme Panel footer template, again limiting design. It seems the more one used cloud templates the more problems arise.

I recently read through the post settings documentation, and followed the instructions. However, when I go to cloud templates, click add new, select the template I want in single post and try to create template it comes up this error below

I can find no cloud template that offers to put the featured image indented in first para as WP Style 1 does.

I want the image top left cut into the post text like this – https://jazzjournal.co.uk/2020/05/22/ibrahim-ferrer-buenos-hermanos/ – but it seems the only option is to have the featured image large above the text. In other words to have Single Post Featured Image in a row above Single Post Content – far too large!

I can’t believe it’s not possible to replicate the WP template. Seems obvious customers might want this. My site depends on it.

I can’t import templates from the cloud. I click on import but nothing happens.

I’ve been having the problem many have had on here – the mobile theme will show randomly on the desktop, the desktop theme will show randomly on mobile, and both look horrible (moreso the mobile theme on desktop!).

However, disabling Cloudflare (Developer Mode) has helped with the mobile/desktop theme swap problem (touch wood). So does anyone have any theories which Cloudflare setting might cause that problem? I have Rocket Loader disabled as well as Minify options, which I thought could be an issue.

Secondly, does anyone know what might break a series of functions, namely ‘Update’ (post/page), ‘Preview’ and ‘Load More’ buttons to show more articles. Is it ‘Ajax’ related? I literally can’t update pages or posts at the moment.

Before I get the response I’ve seen many times, I have disabled caching software and all plugins. It’s incredibly frustrating as I wasn’t having these issues until a few days ago.

I did upgrade yesterday to v10 of newspaper template and since this moment, my CPU goes crazy and my website takes at least 20 seconds to display!
I did follow all optimization stuffs and site is hosted with Siteground which has a great speed optimizer + a cloudflare integration…
Seriously, what’s wrong with Newspaper 10 theme ?
