Thank you. I have tried that and Visual Composer itself is working properly, but the Newspaper blocks are not. There is only one block style showing (regardless of which block I choose) and custom post types are not working…
So we will have to write our own shortcakes to implement what we need…
Hi,
There is a possibility by activating visual composer on posts from here: http://screencast.com/t/sDMHzvUr9 but visual composer is not tested on posts and could provide mixed results.
Thank you!
Hello lordmazus,
If you have the latest version of our theme (Newspaper 7.0.1), please ensure that you have updated all your plugins to the latest version of the theme -> Social Counter ->4.0, Visual Composer ->4.11.2, clear all your caches and test it again and check the results.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
It seems your site does not use thumbnails at all. It uses the full size images. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn. the regenerate thumbs again and see the results. A plugin could be interfering with the thumbnails.
Let us know how it goes and if you still have trouble with this send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can inspect this issue.
Also include a link to this topic so we can identify you.
Thank you!
Hello petjah,
Unfortunately, our theme does not work fine with Frontend editor and our developers decide to exclude it from the theme. You can enable the Visual Composer frontend editor by removing this code from theme’s functions – http://screencast.com/t/1N4LB7WhP2jR but unfortunately, will not work properly if you have tag div blocks on the page.
Thanks.
Hi guys,
Did anyone make a customization of the “Pageable Container” of Visual Composer, or knows an extension
that puts also ARROWS as navigation, additionally to the Dots. Some people also request an arrow navigation and its not always clear with the dots. And is the Newspaper Team doing paid customization? Thanks!
Hello shae101s,
First of all, I feel glad that you are excited by our new improvements for our theme and I want to thank you for your kind words.
Please notice that the fonts for our new mobile theme are loaded by default and do not exists any settings from our panel to change these fonts, sorry! If you want to change them, you will have to do only from code. So, you should try to check the style.css for mobile and then, you should use Search and Replace button to change the default fonts with your desired one by you, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/miaEOTvhL Also, if the fonts are not loaded on your theme you will have to add them using the @font-face attribute, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/wuk6OS2RaQs Please notice that this is not a simple task and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because this service is not covered by our support.
For your second request, please notice that is the mobile behaviour for your theme and the light box was disabled from the code in order to make this feature being so fast and clear. Also, do not exist any options to enable this feature, because the mobile theme has not been designed to be used in this case. If you are unhappy with this behaviour for your mobile mode, you have to disable the mobile theme plugin and then the theme will be switched to the normal mobile responsive mode and there you will find that behaviour.
If you have enabled the mobile theme, the pages will be displayed in the simple mode and you can only add your desired text which will appear on your mobile view. Please notice that this simple core for the mobile theme has been designed for a fast page loading, speed, clean content and relevant information. Also, if you are using the mobile theme, your home page will not display you the original page but only the big grid and the related articles because the Visual Composer not working for the mobile theme, though. If you do not want to have this behaviour for your mobile mode, you simply disable the tagDiv Mobile theme plugin from plugins area, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/uoSa0R9CUL6 Also, if you want to change the filtering structure for Big Grid, please notice that you will have to alter the code from front-page.php, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/kDIW2lyabJ and this involve customization services and we cannot provide this at the moment, sorry!
For more information about our new feature, please check the documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Thank you for your understanding!
Hello jkellerer,
Please ensure that you have right followed all the steps in this regard according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/ and also, please ensure that you are the latest version of the theme and our plugins (Visual Composer 4.11.2 and Social Counter 4.0), clear all your caches, purge CDN file is you are using CDN and test it again. So, if you problem is still there after this advice, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so I can further inspect it closer the setup page. Also, please provide the link of this topic so we can identify you.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hello mike6209,
Please notice that the mobile theme is too basic as the structure and do not support the Visual Composer to be edited. For more information about our new mobile theme, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ Please notice that this feature was made to be as simple, clear and very fast. If you are unhappy with this and if you want to have more customization for your mobile mode, you will have to simply disable the mobile theme and the theme will be switched to the normal mobile responsive mode.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi
This is the default functionality when Visual Composer it’s used on page template default. You can use page-builder+title and hide page’s title using this css in theme panel > custom code > custom css: http://screencast.com/t/Ykcl5S7kylOG
.page-template-page-pagebuilder-title-php .td-page-title, .page-template-page-pagebuilder-title-php .td-page-header.td-pb-padding-side {
display: none!important ;
}
.page-template-page-pagebuilder-title-php .td-page-content{
margin-top: 0px;
}
Thanks!
Hi,
for me the backend editor/ visual composer does not work at the moment. When I am working on an article and switch from classic mode to backend editor, my article does not appear anymore.
Here is a screenshot in classic mode: https://www.dropbox.com/s/z2s8qm33dk5i4p5/Screenshot1.png?dl=0
And here is what I see after clicking on “backend editor”: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1wthb0jahzx3yvc/Screenshot2.png?dl=0
In the backend editor screen I can not add any elements, after clicking on one it just does not happen anything.
First I thought the problem might occure because I havent updated to Newspaper 7 yet. But I did that now it nothing changes.
Appreciate your help!
Timo
Hi,
In my front page, I use visual composer, How do I remove the author in Big Grid 10?
I just want to show the title of the article.
Thank you.
Hi,
is there a possibility to use the visual composer and the post blocks also for posts?
We would like to show a list of posts of a certain category and tag below some posts.
Thank you
Klaus
Just installed NewsMag & Visual Composer last night, so I’m using the latest versions. My frustration is that when I follow your step-by-step instructions, something else happens.. i.e., I selected & saved header style #10, but the page shows a logo up at the top. The lite version worked fine, but I was looking forward to the additional capabilities of the paid version, but the plan seems to have gone awry. Since installing, my old settings are gone, re-buildng isn’t working well for me, and apparently, my page is being redirected. Is there a bug in the system? A little help here, please? Pretty please?
Hello Everyone,
This is the first time i am using Visual Composer and the Newspaper 7 WordPress theme. I saw some videos on Youtube about Visual composer where (for example on this video; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiTIrxGT4Dk at 1:47) have at page editing a button with Backend Editor and a button with Frontend Editor.
I have done literally everything but this damn frontend editor button is nowhere to be found.
I have a fresh install of WordPress 4.5.2
Fresh install of Newspaper V 7.0.1 with “Say What?” demo settings and content.
Fresh install (and activated) Visual Composer 4.11.2, no other plugins actived or installed.
php.ini configuration
Server software
Apache
PHP Version
5.5.32
post_max_size
50M
max_execution_time
300
max_input_vars
5000
SUHOSIN installed
false
And also the WP Memory Limit has been set to 96 MB/request.
I am out of ideas other then, its not possible to have the frontend editor work with Newspaper 7 🙁
Hi
After WordPress updated at V 4.5 there appeared a jQuery conflict in our theme, also older version of VC won’t work with it. We fixed this conflict and the current theme version available on themeforest works fine, also we included last version of Visual Composer plugin.
Try to update the theme at current version available on themeforest, also update Visual Composer at V 4.11.2 following our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ deactivate all other plugins, clear all caches and test again.
I hope this helps.
Thanks!
Hi
We don’t have any call center services as we offer support only on forum, email or themeforest dashboard. However the redirect is not related whit the theme. It may be a plugin which cause this or a rule from .htaccess. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer and also check if you have any redirect rules in .htaccess.
You can also try to setup a new wp-install on a sub-domain using this configuration:
– WordPress V 4.5.2
– Newsmag theme V 2.3.7
– Visual Composer plugin V 4.11.2
This configuration should work fine so do a few tests with it and check how it goes. Also you can check our documentation for more details about homepage setup: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-use-visual-composer/
Thanks!
Hello paolobabaglioni,
Please keep in mind that you have needed the latest version of the plugins in order to achieve best results. So, please ensure if you are using the Social Counter 4.0, Visual Composer 4.11.2 and WordPress 4.5.x. Try to clear all your caches and test it again.
If you problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect your setup page and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response in this regard. Also, please provide the link of this topic so we can identify you.
Thanks.
Hi
The colors for block title can be changed from Visual Composer page-builder for each block: http://screencast.com/t/YrOrQeqwEQAO – http://screencast.com/t/SjiJJSZE6Hd
I hope this helps.
Thanks!

Hello taco_and_co,
Please notice that even though the mobile theme does not support the Visual Composer for the shortcode, it uses the Visual Composer to display the Big Grid from the front of the page and the Latest Articles from the bottom of the page which are made in our theme with Visual Composer elements. I hope that you have understood my explanation.
Thank your message!
Hello yachtsailingcharter,
In the future, you can use the Jing for making the screencasts -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O020MfJQT3A
So, please notice that the colours of these yellow box can be changed from Visual Composer, block settings, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/jiGsYiUT For more information about these features, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/

Hi support,
When using Newspaper 7.01 with the latest version of Internet Explorer 11 (on Windows 10) I’m getting a very strange visual error. My site isn’t live yet, so I’ve created a small video for you to see for yourselves (linked below).
http://galacticbrain.com/Internet-explorer-newspaper-problem.mp4
Basically, every time the page loads, it appears that the mobile menu is trying to open – and it flashes across the header section, travelling right to left. Happens on every page load. Doesn’t matter what page is opened.
I’ve tried uninstalling all plugins (leaving only the ones you recommend) but this hasn’t fixed it. I’ve also removed any custom CSS, cleared caches, etc., all without success. I’m not running the mobile theme, just your inbuilt responsive menu in version 7. I also don’t use Visual Composer, so I know that’s not the cause. The site works fine on all other browsers.
Have you seen anything like this before in IE? Any suggestions? Is there any way I can override the mobile menu loading initially? If you think this is the cause? Have been trying to fix for awhile now and am completely stumped!
Any help appreciated. I can send you admin access if you need a closer look. I’m hoping it’s something you’ve seen before.
Thanks,
John
For the visual composer I tried to do the best practice but the plugin continues to be unable to function: http://screenshot.net/gw5rvi4?it
