Sorry but this is not as easy as it sounds. The top menu is not created with an affix class as the main menu so there is no sticky top menu. Only the main menu has this feature.
If you only want to disable just the header menu on the homepage you can use this code:

display:none;

I meant you can create as many sidebars as you want but yes, you can only select one at a time for any page (pages, categories, posts etc). You can add more ad boxes above the News Category and it will get pushed down, you can make it a dropdown list – https://www.screencast.com/t/WG2nZ7jGC – https://www.screencast.com/t/u1xp642J8 and fill the space with ad boxes, or remove it, whatever you think it’s best.
The code added for the ad on the homepage gets loaded after the theme css style, therefore there is some delay. You could try to move the code directly in the theme style.css if you want, so it loads initially from there and see how it goes.

You are talking about two different things. So, on the first side you have a homepage, and in the second one, you have a post page. If you want that the sidebar from your homepage to be displayed on your post pages you should create a new sidebar in Widgets Area from Panel, with these elements and then, from Theme panel you should add this type of sidebar. Notice that the homepage is created using Visual Composer and the post pages cannot be customized with this plugin, sorry! I;m not sure exactly what is going on with oyur block settings but you should start from the top. Make sure each post is in it;s proper category and check the category parents from the category section of wordpress. Next, check the blocks on the homepage and see if the settings for them had been changed. You can use this guide to see what each setting does: https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/
Unfortunately you are the one that has to investigate as we have no idea of how the site/blocks were set before the ‘gnomes’ came in.

1. Our theme requires featured images in order to display a thumbnail on the homepage and other blocks. I’m not sure what plugin you used for this but it could not be compatible with the theme

Unfortunately the theme was built to show categories as they are not a post type. A category is a taxonomy which is very different from a post type. You cna show posts or pages or events or other custom post types in our theme blocks using the post type filed from block settings or the latest articles section under post loop settings as you mention above, but there is no option for showing a category page on the homepage. Sorry. I do not know of a plugin that can do this.

The simplest way to do it would be to hide it with css, using something like this so it only removes it only in the homepage, try this code – enter it in Theme panel->Custom Css, after you have set a header ad
