I have a problem with the correct position of sidebar. I do not know why but the under home content is my sidebar. It doesn’t matter what I set Row layout in Visual Composer but sidebar is always under the cotent only in home page.
Earlier page looked properly.
You can chec this: naszawyspa.com

Also,

The shortcode look normal on the homepage Homepage.
When I use that block shortcode into the single loop page, the layout look different with 3 columns instead 2 columns with medium thumbnails Single Post page

Hi,

I’ve noticed that any PAGE which uses “Homepage Full Post Featured” has the H1 tag nested within a script tag

Example

http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/homepage-full-post-featured/

As I understand (and I am happy to be corrected) this is not good for seo as search engines may find this hard/harder to read or not read it at all

Thanks!

Hi

Sorry for the delay but we answer the topics from the oldest to newest.
From this screen https://gyazo.com/70b904c98cadd75bf7192ea0bf9bc13a it seems that you’re on a static page not on a category page. The settings from this section: https://gyazo.com/5e40d330a65a961681bb3bd575f11d4e are applied only for category pages, not on static pages. Static pages can be edited using Visual Composer if you want to change the elements. For more details please check our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-use-visual-composer/
If you still can’t manage to solve this please provide your site url and more details about your issue so I can have a closer look and get back to you with a more accurate answer.

Thanks!

@Andrei L. I have my team working on it and when we disabled VC. the homepage is now working http://butthatsnoneofmybusiness.com any thoughts on this?

Hey Catalin,

Maybe I’m not explaining it the right way to you.
I’m not using a 700px image. I upload every image with a size of 1920 x 1080px. I understand that the theme makes different sizes images.

On the homepage I use block 4. The theme uses the 324x160px created images for this block. For bigger screens you have 3 posts next to eachother on regular sized screens. Looks perfect. For the smaller screens you get one post under another screen wide. This works perfect to.

Unless the screen is between about 400px and 750px. You still get one post under another screen wide, but because the theme uses the 324x160px created image, that small image has to cover a width of up to 750px on for example a tablet. And thats when it looks bad. And that’s what I want to fix.

Hi,
If you want to remove the breadcrumbs on the homepage, you can use css to hide it:
.home .entry-crumbs{
display:none!important;
}

Thank you!

Edit:

I wanted to replicate the homepage. But the background image is still not shown. Watch here: http://gefrierschrank24.net/testhomepage/

I followed this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-stop-top-header-image-from-stretching/ (except copying the code, because it cannot be copied from a image”http://screencast.com/t/SUt9ItUc” )

But everything is the same. Also td travel code is set, as it should be. Why is the background image not shown? watch here: http://abload.de/img/unbenanntj3q9q.png

Thanks for helping 🙂

Hi,
There is a visual composer element that does exactly what you request. It;s called the homepage post element: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/homepage-one-top-post/
You can simply add it to your page in visual composer: http://screencast.com/t/Z2h2Sdx8x6GX
Thank you!

Hi

I’ve checked your site and seems that there is setup a redirect for homepage: http://screencast.com/t/thkXafdsJnlo As @Chris mentioned above the theme don’t set any redirect so make sure you don’t use a plugin which may cause this. Also check if among the rules from .htaccess file you have one which may set a redirect.

Thanks!

Hello,

yesterday we bought Newspaper and installed the theme – problem: The plugins Visual Composer and Rev Slider can’t be installed – also Woo Commerce – we got error messages like:

Visual Composer
Das Plugin hat keinen validen Header.
Die Datei konnte nicht kopiert werden. js_composer/assets/lib/prettyphoto/css/prettyPhoto.min.css

Rev Slider
Verzeichnis konnte nicht angelegt werden. /homepages/16/d254593094/htdocs/clickandbuilds/Cadzand/wp-content/plugins/revslider/rs-plugin

We did the installing like in tutorial…other plugins can be installed…

Thanks for your support

Hello,
I’m not sure about how you want to view the post as a page, but you can add a homepage post element from visual composer: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/homepage-one-top-post/
Thank you!

Hello,
That is the homepage post element from visual composer. The style is a bit different for the newsmag theme though. Here is how it will display on newspaper:

Hello Newspaper, I love the theme! One thing I am trying to accomplish is to have the same “Post Template (8)” as my homepage. I have tried:

1) Putting the Post Template Styling into a Page, however, could not figure out how to do this.

2) Making a post the front page. The problem is that when I assign my Front Page Display to “Latest Post”, the styling does not transfer.

Example of what I am trying to make the front page look like (mainly interested in the top image header styling): http://lyvesports.com/twhs/

Any ideas?

Hello.. Please visit http://www.Tathaastu.com

That is our website..

You gave us a css to remove it.. and it took off that gray filter over the images and that zoom feature.. but it does not have that gray bar under the text like the first big grid on top of the homepage.

So what we want is that the entire website/all grids and everything would have no zoom hover feature, and no dark filter on the images, but the text would still have that gray bar running across. Can you please do that.

Thank you!

Hey guys,

For my homepage I’m using Block 4. For my category page Module M2. Everything looks great on both big and smaller screens. My question is about the display of the featured images in smaller to medium sized screens. Up until a width of about 768px the theme still uses the 324x160px generated image. As the image is as wide as the screen, this results in a very ugly low res thumb from about 400px to 768px width. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hi,
The travel demo uses the background image a bit different. It has it set on the row in visual composer. You need to edit your homepage and access row settings: http://screencast.com/t/Z2VHdgzUTuV3

Hi,
Please check every single ad spot filed and see if the ad is duplicated anywhere: http://screencast.com/t/szchgVVTnjo
A block 1 can be inserted through visual composer so you would generally find the block were you insert it. This is very confusing to me because you are asking us to find ads or elements that you (or someone else) inserted in the site. These do not have fixed positions so you will not only find them in a specific place. The ads or the theme blocks can be inserted in different ways in different places. It’s up to the site admin where these places will be.
An ad inserted inside a block 1, now that is something we have not heard before. Maybe there is custom code involved in the theme files.
In this case, we recommend doing a theme update as you use a very old version of our theme (3.4) we are now at version 6.7.2 This will require a bit of work though as all the code was changed in the theme since that version so you are better off deleting the theme files and installing a fresh version via ftp.
(I could not find any block 1 on your homepage)
Thanks.

Hi,
If you want to have a different element besides the big grid, you can edit the homepage in visual composer and use a ‘homepage post’ element. This comes very close to your request: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/homepage-one-top-post/
Thank you!

Okayyy, had to go into “Homepage” page and visual composer all of a sudden appeared and started working again, all fixed

Update: Yep, I got it done!
Following your instructions I:
– Cloned the homepage (with a plugin for that) and worked on the clone to try
– Move the contents of all parts of the sidebar to the main (left) column
– Changed layout to single row
– Created a left sidebar, and changed again layout to 1/3, 2/3 (custom settings)
– Dragged the previous contents of the main column to the right column,

done, and working perfect now,
Again, a million thanks!

Hi,
I have checked your website and everything seems to be in order. The slider is there, the blocks and all the elements of the homepage: http://screencast.com/t/QHC2teb3sg
Let us know if you require any further assistance.
Thank you!

Bogdan B.

Ok, now I’m lost.
If you place an ad in custom ad 3, then that is the place your ad is. It does not move to an other place. You can use the ad spot in different parts of your site but the ad code is still in custom ad 3 no matter the device you set it to display in. I’m sorry but I’m just not getting it. You have only one instance of the custom ad 3 on your homepage and it;s the one I pointed out in my previous reply.
Thank you!
