HI

Please make sure that you setup WP Super Cache according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ also I’ve noticed that you’re using child theme. Try to deactivate it then test the site again using Super cache plugin.
Hope this helps.
Thanks!

Helolo Abburi,

Unfortunately a child theme is not update proof. There is no update proof method to customize the theme files. It’s like this. You have a few file sin your child theme that you copied over from the main theme and modified. Now, those files have probably been updated in the current version of the theme. (You could get lucky and they have not, but there is a strong chance they have). if you do not replace the files in the child theme with the new ones, then you will have newspaper 7 in the main theme and serve newspaper 6 files from the child theme. This will cause conflicts and ‘break’ the theme. The only safe way of doing it is to make a back-up of the customization you made, install the new theme, re-create the child theme using the current files and then re-apply the customization if it still works in the new code. A child theme is not update proof. It helps you skip a few updates but that’s it. There is no way of keeping an old file and using it indefinitely. You will have to take a look at every update since newspaper 6.7 and if your file is not on the updated files lists, then you can leave it as it is. if you find your files on any update list since newspaper 6.7, then you will have to re-apply your modification

Thank you!

Hi

1. To achieve the desired result are required some customizations ins theme’s code. Replace the code from td_module_single_base.php file with this one: http://screencast.com/t/wW7ErXmjQzjphttp://pastebin.com/5EL4ASh8
Before making any changes in your site make sure you do a full backup to your current wp-install and the database also: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

2. You will need a custom date format, try to add this parameters here: F j, Y - g:i a : http://screencast.com/t/vwIPzphAfH

3. For the moment we don’t plan to add such an option but I’ve added your suggestion on our todo list and we will consider it for future updates. I can’t say anyting fore sure regarding implementation as we have a very long lists with feature requests and we have to take them one by one.

Tanks!

Well, you should not be blocking access to your wordpress install with robots.txt – if that is what you’re asking?

I have used the revolution sliders with the plugin of the Theme Newspaper 7.3…like it is said in the documentation :
https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-revolution-sliders-on-demos/

I used also from the theme news paper 7.3 newspaper-travel.zip by the menu Theme. No possible to install. There is the message “Le thème n’a pas de fichier style.css.”. The theme has hot the “style.css”
When i open my blog, the is the message : Revolution Slider Error: Slider with alias td-travel not found.”

What i can do ???
Thanks

This error is NORMAL when changing themes as while changing things your theme directory loads, which should not normally — meaning, your theme directory is not a public page.

You can simply mark the error as fixed, and move on with your life.

This may happen EVERY time you change a theme, and this is why the theme docs, and many sites, suggest using a “maintenance” plugin while doing any major changes to themes as it shows a “working on it” message to Google vs exposing the theme folder. But that is sometimes a pain to deal with, too.

Basically, you will get an error when changing themes since the old theme is being inactivated and where does Google go where that is happening?

Nothing to worry about, unless you’re seeing dozens or hundreds of errors, which would be a mis-configuration of site, domain, hacker, etc.

Hope that helps.

ADMIN: likely good to make a note about this in the “install” and “upgrade” pages/docs if not there already, as we’re now going on 3 years of this question around here

Hi all.

I’ve installed Newspaper 7.4 on WordPress 4.6.1

I’ve created the all sets of images for no-thumb under my child theme (child/images/no-thumb/*) but I don’t see it when I reload the page where is showed one of it.

I saw that the call for no-thumb images is in td_module.php at row 273: but that call generate an URL to the parent theme, Newspaper and not Newspaper-child.

Anyone can help me?

Alex.

Hello,

This depends on whether you edited the demo content or you created your own. Lots of people prefer to edit the demo content (dummy data) and go from there without realizing that if you uninstall a demo or switch demos, the dummy data gets removed even if you edited it. That is why we always recommend a back-up beforehand.
But even if you edited the dummy data, it will not get removed if you simply update and do not uninstall or switch demos.

Thank you!

Hi

Do you use a plugin for cache? If so check its options and delete all caches. We recommend WP Super Cache in this regard as it’s tested and works fine with our theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
I assume that you’re not using a cdn service so you don’t need to worry about this. You can check this link for more details in this regard: https://gtmetrix.com/why-use-a-cdn.html
With regard at plugins try to deactivate them all, leave just Visual Composer active then test the site again, it should work properly. Then you can enable back your plugins one bey one and check which one causes the conflict.

Thanks!

Hi MarioBoriassi,

For other users who access this topic, please notice that after several investigations in this regard have concluded that this type of issue come from WP Supercache which is not fully compatible with WordPress 4.6 and that’s why this problem occur. We hope that WP Super cache plugin will be updated it as soon as possible and that problem will be fixed. Notice that this issue appears and on Mobile Theme from Jetpack when the caching plugin is active.
Please notice that we have reported this issue to Jetpack and we are waiting for an update from them. Until that, you should use our workaround posted here -> https://github.com/Automattic/wp-super-cache/issues/132
Also, please try the theme without any untested plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting in the theme.

Thanks for the message and sorry for the inconvenience!

Hello nairolf,

I asked your website and you do not provide me. If you want a deeper investigation in this regard, you have to provide your website URL. Also, if you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.

Thanks.

Hi

It seems that there is a conflict between last version of SEO Yoast an Mobile theme plugin. We found a temporary solution which seems to work fine. Try to install this version of Mobile theme plugin: http://cdn.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/td-mobile-plugin.zip clear all caches then test the site again.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

Thanks Catalin,
from my side, I uninstalled the theme, used FTP to upload the theme, installed the latest mobile plugin but the error is still there:
Note the error came only on Homepage, other pages are OK.
here is the error that came after the latest articles module at homepage:
wp booster error:
td_api_base: mark_used_on_page: a comment
with ID: td_remore_cache is not set
wp booster error:
Missing parameter: ‘file’

Hope this will help.
Meanwhile the august mobile plugin version is working fine as you can see on my site http://www.midronepro.com

Hello,

I have installed the Newspaper theme but Visual Composer is not working. I have deactivated all other plugins (as you stated in other forums) but no change.

What can I do?

Solved!

I can’t say which step specifically (as I uninstalled/re-installed WordPress). But I ended up downloading JUST the wordpress file instead of the full packaged zipped, then unzipped it to wp-content theme folder, went into Themes on my dashboard and could activate it from there instead of having to “install” and unzip through WordPress itself (very similar to Chris S’s initial advice – just needed to be with the WordPress only download).

Thanks for the help and suggestions.

Hello,

The filed you mentioned was destined for google’s analytics code. We have not tested the fb pixel code in that field.
Here is another topic on the subject: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/facebook-pixel-install/
If you want to implement the pixel code in the head tag you also have to place the code in the mobile theme head tag here: http://screencast.com/t/CunYAivt

Thank you!

Hello,

Sorry but we cannot communicate in real time as we have no chat option and our support hours are 8 to 5 gtm +2

1) and 2) This could mean some file are not working properly or the theme install did not go as planned. Please install your theme again and update to the latest version with this occasion. Please use this guide to do it:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and please also update your plugins by using this method: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

3) Our blocks are fixed. Their layout cannot be changed from the theme settings. Our blocks cannot be used in revolution slider. Only in visual composer. If you want to create a revolution slider element you must read their docs here: https://www.themepunch.com/faq/slider-revolution-beginner-video-guides-tutorials/

4) You can use wordpress to add images or video to your post. Yopu can add images from the media library and you can use oembed to add videos or other elements

Thank you!

Thanks.

Having a problem installing the theme. I’ve unzipped the download file and I do the following:

1. Appearance – Themes – Upload Theme
2. Browse to location of unzipped Newspaper theme document
3. Go into Newspaper-tf
4. Select the Newspaper compressed file
5. ‘Install Now’

The error message that keeps returning is “Are you sure you want to do this?” And the only option is to click “please try again.”

I’ve the latest version of Newspaper Theme and WordPress, and it is installed locally on my Windows machine and running off WAMP.
TIA.

Hi guys,
I have Slider Revolution Version 5.2.5.1 installed. I notice that there are later versions available but this does not seem to be included in the latest Newspaper 7.4 update. Can you advise on when the latest version will be released? It looks like the last update to Slider Revolution was on 28 June and is, I believe, version 5.2.6.

Thanks in advance
