Hi

This errors happens when you try to access the theme’s index.php file directly, usually it displays a Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header(). You can find more info about this in this tread: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/fatal-error-3/ and add a redirect rule for it.
That is a problem related with a WordPress file and it could be caused by some plugin. Try to login in your ftp account and rename the plugins folder from …/your-wp-install/wp-content/plugins then try to login again. Here you can find more details about this process: https://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F

First make sure you do a full backup of your current wp-install and to the database also, here is the WordPress official documentation in this regard: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups This is a security measure, just in case something goes wrong with the update process, you can always get back to the previous version.
After this step it’s done you can make the transition in two ways:
– put the site in maintenance mode using a specific plugin for that: https://www.sourcewp.com/best-wordpress-maintenance-mode-plugins/ then install our theme and make all necessary adjustments
– make test sub-domain and upload all content from your live site, with your current theme installed then switch at Newsmag and adjust the site. By making a second domain your live site won’t be affected and you can make any tests with our theme without any risk.

I think 4.5 broke Visual Composer in our install. I started a thread after yours.

My apologies. And I saw how to solve this. It has to do with the language of my WordPress installation . So do not consider this question.

I’m having the same problem. Running on wordpress 4.4.2. The homepage seem works fine but the category pages repeating posts on pagination. I don’t want to update the full theme as i have a lot of customization.

Is there a way to replace few files from the latest version of theme that would fix the problem. I didn’t install the visual composer as i don’t use any elements from that plugin, it’s very flat website.

1) I would like to have a landing page that shows the latest posts first as ‘featured posts’ across categories and then the latest posts category by category below. I installed the default demo setup but the current landing page looks nothing like it. I have worked with many themes before but this wasn’t as straight-forward as I had been hoping for. Please, help me with pointers how to set up a proper landing page.

Your suggestion to change from latest posts to static page wasn’t the solution, since the drop-down menu of static pages only included pages such as About etc.

2) It says I have the default sidebar right now and as mentioned I downloaded your default demo setup. But how come there is no sidebar showing? Where is the ‘default sidebar?

I installed Yoast SEO Glue and AMP plugin on my website http://www.bigscreenhouse.com and when i check Accelerated Mobile Pages on Google Search Console I found that one page is indexed and 3 AMP pages with errors. I checked the error but its mentioned as “Unknown syntax error” http://www.bigscreenhouse.com/videos/sai-pallavi-vanitha-cover-photoshoot-video/amp/

So can you help me?

Also as on Newspaper theme there’s a feature to select the post format b/w “Standard” and “Video”. When i choose the ‘Video’ the URL which is added to ‘Featured video’ is not showing up on /amp/ . If you can provide any solutions for these. It will be much helpful.

I found a plugin that works perfect on other themes –> https://wordpress.org/plugins/infinite-transporter/faq/
But i cant get it work on the single page (i already included the code in the functions php)
The Plugin works nearly with alle free themes on the wp repository but not with the newspaper theme 🙁

I can change the templates if you tell me wich changes i should make. I tried to include id=”content” – but it does not work. It would be awesome if you can help me out. please install the plugin and check it – it takes only 5 minutes 🙂 This is a must have for me – this was the reason why i asked before i bought the theme. Thank you so much

I’m sorry to be a stickler about this and at this point I am no longer looking for support, however, I can’t help but wonder if you are even reading my entire post or looking at my screenshot. The screenshot (link below again) clearly shows that there is a bbpresss folder FROM THE ORIGINAL DOWNLOAD OF THE THEME in the root folder. And if you look at the code of “content-single-topic.php” within that folder, you will see the following code. I am again highlighting the code that makes is clear that it was written by TagDiv since it is referring to td classes:

At this point I do not care for any support, but do not tell me that I am mistaken and that the bbpress plugin or I put that folder into theme root. There is a screenshot of the never touched unzipped newspaper theme and you can clearly see a bbpress folder in it! I will concede that it is perhaps confusing and that there is an update where that folder no longer exists or was moved, but in my case, when I purchased and downloaded and installed the theme, it did! All I was really asking was how the style the lead topic the same as the replies, which your theme does! You can even see the td classes that are being called right in the PHP. I would think that it would be an easy fix, but since you guys don’t even believe what I am saying, I will figure this out on my own.

Hi Catalin, thank you for your comment, but “this kind of video” is a normal youtube video, which must be admitted by the theme.
And for the second issue, i have installed the plugins “regenerate thumbnails” and “upscale” and still doesn´t work.
Hope you can help me to fix this, this issue is not working properly in the theme.
