Hi Alin,
No, I started with version 6.32 – only purchased a couple of weeks ago.
I already checked the Widgets and they are all still in the sidebars etc, just not displaying.
It’s very odd.
Looks like I will have to rebuild the site from scratch again and do a fresh install.
All was fine until I overwrote the Theme files with the latest version.
Kind Regards
Hi,
Updating the theme should not affect your sidebars, only if you upgrade from version 4 of the theme you will need to re-add widgets as they will become inactive, but the custom sidebars will be imported if you run the script – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Always make a full backup of your current installation.
Thanks!
Hi,
You can install the demo without content(just the style/stack you want) and create your own articles, pages, categories. If you install the demo, it has some predefined articles, pages, menu to help user to make an idea about what they can achieve with the theme. The documentation is a good start if you are at beginning with WordPress. – https://forum.tagdiv.com/introduction/
Thanks!
Hello,
I have newspaper theme v6.2 installed on my website.
URL : http://www.naukrinama.com
Google Page Speed URL : https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=naukrinama.com
It shows a lot of JS and CSS errors. With the steps mentioned on this URL : https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
I took out the ID’s of the various JS and CSS files and have created the code lines. But i am confused where to add then in the speed booster plugin php file.
I can already see similar code for that ID added there. Should i replace it or what ?
Hello,
I have newspaper theme v6.2 installed on my website.
URL : http://www.naukrinama.com
I have gzip compression enabled onto my website/server and have added rules for it in .htaccess file also. The other testing tools for compression is showing the gzip compression enabled, but google page speed is still showing the compression error.
How can i get it resolved.
Google Page Speed URL : https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=naukrinama.com
Other Tools URL : http://checkgzipcompression.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.naukrinama.com
https://varvy.com/tools/gzip/
http://www.gziptest.com/result/www.naukrinama.com
https://gtmetrix.com/reports/www.naukrinama.com/UZUzM84r (But gtmetric score for gzip compression is very low)
Also can you tell me how can I increase I gzip compression score.
Hi, we have just installed newest version of Newspaper theme on our development server, for testing purposes, with all demo content – and we noticed that on mobile devices, post images are not loading – other images such banners are loaded.
Also, there are issues with Ajax functionalities – and testing device was iPhone 6. On Android device, first load was ok, everything was loaded fine, but on reload, same thing, no images, Ajax not working, slide menu not working, etc.
Can you please help us out, and try it yourself, this is the URL – http://dev.fokus.ba
Thanks!
Hello,
I have newspaper theme v.62 installed on my website. Browser caching was earlier working fine on my website but suddenly it has stopped working and my google page speed has gone down.

Here is the code written in my .htaccess file.

Best way to install is by unzip on your local computer, then upload via FTP.
If installing via the method you’re attempting, make sure those files are actually in the /includes/ folder you uploaded ! “File does not exist” means the installer can’t locate the file(s) to install.
When I try to install the Visual Composer (and other plug-ins included) they do not work. Here is the error I get.

Hi,
I have checked your site again and the menu is still broken on mobile – http://screencast.com/t/DVQnJ9tev
Try to install a fresh wordpress and a clean unmodified theme on a subdomain(ex – http://clubalmafuerte.com/test/) and see if the issue still appears on this install.
Thanks!
Hi,
Now that I’ve successfully installed the default demo, complete with content, I’m wondering the best way to customise it (I hope to develop an online gardening magazine).
I thought the workflow might proceed as follows…
1.Change name of menu headings
2.Delete unwanted pages and posts
3.Create new posts and category names.
Am I heading in the right direction here or is there a better way of making the demo installation my own?
Thank you in advance.
Hi,
Always make a full backup of your current installation – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and then do a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ update also the plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugins folder. In the “how to update” guide is specified that you will have to run the script that will import from database your settings, will change the shortcodes. Unfortunately you will have to re-add your widgets in the sidebars as some of them may not be imported or don’t exist anymore, also they will become inactive.
Also that latest version is 6.4, so you can update to this version(we added more features in this version).
Hope that the new version will work properly!

I have installed the theme onto the live server migrating from a TEST SERVER but the POST IMAGES are not showing at all, even though they are present in the root.
Please help!!!!
Hi,
I have checked your site and you have the demo installed and did not found any issue with images.
Did you solved the issue?
Thanks!
I’m having a problem seeing any featured images and the menu when viewing my site on an iphone, in particular in safari. This is a new website, and recently installed newspaper theme. Everything looks ok on the computer, however on the iphone featured images do not appear. Seems to work ok on Chrome on my iphone, just not Safari.
URL is: http://www.genuinerides.com
please advise.
Thank you,
Mike
Hello,
I have installed Newspaper Theme v6.2 on my website and want to implement the following points to my website but unable to find a solution to it :
URL : http://www.naukrinama.com
1. I have implemented pagination in posts using this URL : https://forum.tagdiv.com/posts-with-pagination/
But i don’t want the pagination to come like 1,2,3,4… But it works like a slider with Next and previous buttons on top and bottom of the post and which on clicking will make the user move to next part of the post. Let me know how can this be achieved.
Example of what i want can be seen here : http://circleofindia.in/2015/Aug/17/Celebrities-who-Insulted-the-Indian-National-Flag-Pictures-1/
2. The default Next and Previous Article option that is coming below every post is not clearly visible. How can I change the Layout of it ? I want to put 2 buttons over there for Next and Previous Article instead of Text written.
3. How can i add custom News Ticker below the menu on the home page in which I can add text by myself and link it to the article I want. Currently it takes the articles by default and displays it.
4. I have implemented discus comments plugin onto my posts, but it is not getting visible in frontend. I have checked console on inspect element and unable to find a issue. How can this be resolved ? (I have disabled the default comments option of the theme, also the JS of the discus plugin is shown in the source code of the post as well.)
Let me know the resolution to these issues.

Hi
I’ve tested the latest theme’s version (2.1.1) with the social counter plugin and works fine: http://screencast.com/t/gDinwZQqaOWE
Please make sure you installed the plugin from the full theme folder -> plugins folder you’ve downloaded from themeforest, also try to deactivate all plugins, except Visual Composer and Social Counter, clear the cache and test again.
If the problem persist please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your site login details and we will inspect this issue, also include a link to this topic.
Thanks!
Hi,
The latest version of the Visual Composer plugin (4.6.2) hasn’t been tested with your theme version so in your case it would be best to continue using the 4.4.4 version if it’s working or install version 4.3.5 which should be used with theme version 4.6.1 as this version of VC plugin was provided within theme’s /plugins folder: http://screencast.com/t/s86Lh7teEW
If you want to use the latest version of Visual Composer plugin then you need to update the theme to version 6 which has support for later versions of VC plugin and it’s also included within full theme’s package.
If you decide to update please follow this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ backup your current install, run the import settings script, update plugins and check the result. You can always get back to the previous working theme version if something goes wrong as long as you backup it but doing the update as instructed the theme should work fine.
You should also consider into the process at the following aspects:
– backup your current theme/WordPress/database: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
– setup a maintenance mode and you can use a plugin for that.
– empty all caches/purge files if you also use CDN host then disable any services of this type until you switch to the new theme
– disable all plugins
– install the theme then install the required plugins
– switch back the rest of the plugins and start other services
Let us know how it goes!
Thanks
Hello,
I have installed (or tried to install) the Default template. There seems to be an issue with images. As you can see on http://www.aftenstierne.eu they only appear as broken. I have tried to upload a couple of new images and make test posts with these. The same thing seems to happen. I tried to uninstall the template and reinstall. Did not seem to hlep. Is this a common issue?
Hi
I’ve checked your site and noticed that your fonts and js files are moved to the footer, but google evaluate the page speed on mobile different than on desktop. Evan if those resources are moved to the footer for some reasons they still appear like they are blocking the page render process.
You can also see this on our demo: http://screencast.com/t/i8oicyBB
Notice that google it’s much more restrictive with the plugins on mobile site’s version, because some may cause problems for the user when visit the site on mobile devices. It’a good practice to keep only the necessary plugins installed, also chose carefully what plugins you’re using because some of them may slow down the site if are not written ok.
Thanks for the message!
Well, problem solved! 😀 The issue was exactly what you pointed out: theme version. I updated, installed the child theme and now it works flawless! FINALLY!!
Thanks so much! 🙂
Hi Chris,
Thanks for your help. I am using a static home page “home”
I checked the htaccess and here’s what it says…
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ – [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>
# END WordPress
Should there be something that changes?
I also installed a caching plugin. I am getting better results in terms of loading
speed but it’s still going to /home
Hey guys,
I got a problem after the installation of Newsmag theme, with the Social Counter block.
When i load a predefined layout, only code appears instead of the block (1st screenshot), and in the “Add Element” list, the Social Counter isn’t here, i can’t understand why.
In the theme panel, i activated the plugin (written “active”) but impossible to use it.
How to repait it ? 🙂
Here the screenshots :
