Quick update, I tried the same process again(C – Update theme via WP) on a different site. When I get to the Welcome tab, the link for the update from version 4 link is not there.

Thank you for the response.
I did followed the guide step by step(version C). I did not click the update script as I imported the settings from my old website via the import/export tab.
I was confused about how to follow the steps:
– Do you follow one of the steps(A,B,C) and then run the update script?
– Do I have to delete the following files as well or does this apply to the FTP process only?

At the moment there is no plan on making the mega-menu accept woocommerce products or categories. This involves adding custom post type support to our modules and blocks. Maybe in a future update we will be able to implement it but at the moment and in the near future we have no such plan.

Make sure you do each step and run the update script so the shortcodes will be changed. (shortcodes and classes have been changed in the new version so the script must rename the ones on your website to match the new ones.)

After i have updated Newspaper 6.6, i am getting warning in Google webmasters tools as illustrated below screenshot.
But in earlier versions i did not get any warnings even i have disabled the date via theme options panel.
How can i avoid this warning even i have disabled the post date?

I had this error last year and I don’t recall what you did to fix it. I updated the social plugin via FTP after it stopped updating for Facebook. When I reinstalled and used the tutorial for FB (App ID, Key, etc…) I got the error message below.
I left the social counter on my home page alone and the problem only occurs on pages/posts. It was the same way last year when it happened. Identical error.

Please update the social counter to the latest version and use this tutorial for the facebook button https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/. The input method was changed as facebook changed some of it’s code and affected our social counter.

I will add this to our update list and hopefully in a future version we will be able to do it. Unfortunately as it is not a priority at this moment i cannot make any promises.
As an alternative, you could maybe use the yoast breadcrumbs instead of the theme’s but it will give you a bit of a headache. You will have to edit a lot of files to replace the theme breadcrumbs with yoast and i cannot say for sure that the yoast breadcrumbs have options to remove certain categories from them. Please switch to the default theme (select the newspaper theme not the child theme) and see if the problem is still there. If it is, please try to do a fresh install via ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
If the child theme was not updated it could cause issues as some parts of the code were changed in the current version of the theme. The child theme should be updated as well.

After the latest update, the website was not loading until i deleted the Folder: api-plugin. After that the website loads but some images are not properly organized.

This problem being so specific (on just iphones), it will not be so easy to find. It is not something obvious. What we recommend you to do is hire a freelancer to get a look at it as it will require a bit of time and effort. Unfortunately time does not allow us to tackle such tasks as we are a small team and we work hard on development, updates, fixes and support. Please update your theme to the latest version and update the social counter as well. The facebook option did not work anymore because facebook changed a few things and unfortunately it affected our social counter. The issue was fixed in the current version (6.6.1). The facebook id input method changed and now it requires a personal app key from facebook. To list the features one would need
– Set global advert tag (like adsense) for background by virtue of YES/NO option then area to insert JS/html
– Set global fallback background colour and/or image (this is in case there is no banner displaying)
ON CATEGORY LEVEL
– Set advert tag for category and posts in that category by virtue of YES/NO option then area to insert JS/html
– Set category fallback background colour and/or image (this is in case there is no banner displaying)
By having this either globally it can be enabled or only per category.
The site I have on now uses Adtech by it’s part of Google’s DOUBLECLICK FOR PUBLSIHERS DFP, same as adsense but publishers manages it themselves and all of them require this so going to have to do the workaround for all of them.

I see you solved your issue and found a workaround for it. Unfortunately the background click ad was not designed to work with adsense. I will add this to our list of updates and in a future update maybe we will be able to improve our ad system. Hi guys,
I’m updating the theme on my sites from v4.6 to the latest v6.6 but my homepage post are not showing. The side bar, nav bar and footer update as expected but the main content section doesn’t show anything. All the plugins have been updated and the theme settings from my v4 theme have been properly imported. Any ideas on how to solve this? Thanks!

btw I have found this ”refresh attachment” option.
It remove itself on timeline, but if you go to post page, you can find it again.
Hi, thanks for the great theme! I’m having trouble saving modifications to the translations in Newspaper WordPress theme (latest version).
I’ve tried in several browsers on two computers (firefox, chrome and edge) and whenever I press “save settings”, I get a loading screen that loads forever.
It was working this summer, here are the things that changed since: I’ve moved to a new host, I’ve updated Newspaper (and plugins, and WordPress) to the latest versions.
Can you help me out?
PS. As I’m using French, there’s no file that I can manually edit (I think it’s based on Google Translate).

we can exclude categories from showing up in an article’s category list using the following option on the categories option in the theme panel.
“HIDE CATEGORY ON POST AND ON CATEGORY PAGES” -> true
However posts falling in these categories continue to show on the breadcrumbs.
Is there a way (and also a permanent fix in a future update) so if a category is used for block building purposes – that is we want to hide it from the available categories – to also be excluded in the breadcrumbs and instead show any other category the post belong to at the breadcrumbs?
Example
Post X has categories “navigational, Sports”
where “navigational” is not to be shown
now if we hide with “HIDE CATEGORY ON POST AND ON CATEGORY PAGES” -> true, at the breadcrumbs it will show
Home > navigational
instead we want to show
Home > Sports
So how can we have breadcrumbs with categories that are not created for navigational purposes?

Please make you sure that you follow all the update steps correctly via FTP, like in this tutorial: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/ . Also, please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer and install only the plugins that come bundle with our theme, clear all your caches and try it again. If your problem is still there, please let us know.
