I was using Newsmag 1.7 version and was using custom ad 2 in every article. For that short code was [td_ad_box spot_id=”custom_ad_2″]. I have inserted this shortcode in 400 articles.
Now i have updated the theme to 2.2 and what is saw was that in place of ad i see short code on all articles. Could you please tell me why and how this happens? I have inserted this code in 400 articles.

You do not need to reset the theme to it’s original layout because in order to update to version 6 we recommend doing a “clean update” which involves deleting your old theme, so resenting is redundant.

And my suggestions have no priority. I think you know best which Things can be integrated for this Theme in Future Updates.
I have One more Suggestion:
To have the ability to select in the different Categories the Color of the Article Title like it is possible for the Category Name itself or the Color Page Background.

You could try to add a new case for the sidebar layout in td_module_slide.php like this: http://screencast.com/t/5PAX4y9qWi and a new thumb size in td_config.php http://screencast.com/t/dKQrsEKOdhg that the image to be cropped at the size you want for that slide, also you will need additional css for this slide in style.css file.
This changes requires good coding skills, so I recommend you to hire a developer from sites like http://studio.envato.com/ if you don’t know how to do it yourself, because we cannot offer any type of custom work, as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support.

Unfortunately the theme does not work like that. You cannot update just the features you want. You have to update the whole theme and just ignore the features you won’t be using. If you have trouble updating you could follow this link to our documentation https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/. Make sure to update first.

yet another issue with Newspaper 6…
Since we made the update from Newspaper 5 to 6, when we have articles without featured image, an ugly “missing image” square displays on the home page (see at http://www.iphonologie.fr). We changed the post template to Type 5 and still have the issue.

I talked to Radu O. about this and he told me that it was a render bug but he cannot remember what it was. I’ve tested all version between v3.8.1 to v4.0 and the but was fixed in v4.0. If you want i can provide v4.0 and the updates made up to it to see what has changed, if you’re interested just send me a request via email.

The theme wasn’t designed to handle SVG images, you can try to find a plugin to achieve that functionality, or if that doesn’t work you can lock for a professional developer from sites like http://studio.envato.com/ to do it for you, because unfortunately we cannot offer custom work as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support.

I received an email last week saying there was an updated version of Newspaper available. I already have v6 installed which I installed back in June – this was the first time I had used the theme. How do I go about updating to this new version? I purchased it originally via Envato ThemeForest.

Theme version 2.0 had the VC version 4.5.3 included within and the most recent version offered in the theme is 4.6.2. You could try to update your vc version to 4.6.2 and test this again however that version hasn’t been tested with your theme version so I’m not sure how it will behave yet you should try it and see how it goes. You can find it in the latest theme version in /plugins folder: http://screencast.com/t/jGU40i7J
You could also test this by disabling those other plugins you sue it may be that the VC plugin is in conflict with one of your current plugins causing those issues.

I see one of the new features of version 6.4 is animation on infinite load.. i’m currently running version 6.3 of Newspaper (which i want to keep for now).. i was going to update to 6.4 but i don’t need most of the features (i only update when i see many fixs, etc)..
Anyway the only 3 features i would like is:
1. fix: IMPORTANT security issue with the ajax code that handles the sidebars.
2. misc: infinite loader now has a loading animation
3. new: all categories now have an option for infinite loading + load more instead of pagination
Could you just list the exact files to update from 6.3.0.. i’m thinking td_ajax.php will fix the security issue?

Hi there, my site is BuzzHut (http://www.buzzhut.co.uk). We’re a gaming, gadgets and mobile news, reviews and discussion site running the Newspaper theme. Founded in 2010, I updated the theme to Newspaper a couple of months ago and am so pleased with the results – hands down the best theme I’ve used. Still got plenty more to do on it but it’s given me a great foundation to get the look and user experience I was after.
Would welcome your feedback on the site and will be sure to take a look at some of yours.
