Hi,

I’ve made some investigation for import/export option from theme panel and indeed the message show that the settings was imported successfully, but there are no effects of theme, this seams to be a problem, will try to fix it for the coming update!

Thank you for your understanding and sorry for the inconvenience!

Thank you, I know this but honestly I bought WpBakery Composer a lot of time ago for two reasons:
1- I needed for another site (now closed)
2- I hate to see that it has been updated and I have to wait your theme update maybe two months later, is really annoying: now the plugin has been update to 6.0.3 but your theme as 6.0.2. I will have always the update notification and I dont know when a next theme update will come, maybe months…

So I think you should be provide the compatibility also with the payied version, maybe giving the modified files source so who whants can adapt it.

Thank you

Hi,

Please try in this way, go in wp-content>plugins>td-composer>legacy>newspaper>archives.php and set after each h1 tag this code
<?php echo term_description(); ?>
-> https://prnt.sc/o1cxa9
this code should show the description set on taxonomies, but you’ll need to make those changes after each update, sorry!

Thank you!

@calin
This has a serious impact on my traffic. Look at my article date – https://prnt.sc/o1bfwc even after I updated the article. Let me know a solution as early as possible, or give me a source where I can download the previous version, so I can roll back.

Hi, had this problem from the update, was hoping that there is something with the caching, but the problem is still here, so decided to try and get some help on the forums.

The problem is simple. When previewing a still not published post, the post format preview changes to tablet, and I am doing this form a desktop, just to be clear.

The post looks like this post preview

Is there a solutions to this ?

Thank you.

Hi,

If there are that may problems, it would be best to return to the previous theme version if that worked correctly for you.
Then if possible create a copy of the website on a staging sub-domain (with the duplicator plugin for example) in which to test the update, and try to identify the problem without affecting the working stable website.
In case that is possible, provide us with admin login to it, so we can attempt to update the theme and see for ourselves what exactly is happening.

In the 9.7.3 more of the theme files were moved in the tagDiv composer. The composer must be active at all times in order to keep using the theme at it’s fullest.

The most important currently known issues in the latest update are with the child theme, but since you don’t use a child theme that is not the cause.

Let us know.
Thanks

Any Suggestions ?

Hi,

Unfortunately those changes will be overwrite and for the moment the only way is to save you changes and set them back after you make the update.

Thank you for your understanding and sorry for the inconvenience!

Hi,

Thrive comments was working fine with NewsPaper theme before updating from last 2 years.

After the recent update plugin is not working with your theme.

https://thrivethemes.com/comments/

Can you tell did you disable the support for external comment systems?

Hi,

The theme file structure has changed starting from update 9.7. Now it is compliant with the new Envato theme requirements – https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/

The js the theme uses is now in the composer file – http://prntscr.com/o18qfm you could enter the code you want there.

Thanks

Hi,

That is correct, the post template files are now in the composer plugin. They can only be modified there – http://prntscr.com/o1878j in a child theme it isn’t possible anymore. If we should find a safer or update proof way to modify the files from the plugin, we will provide it and create documentation for it.

The child theme functionality is very limited after the recent theme updates, and the guide will be modified as soon as possible.

Thanks

UPDATE: This solution worked fine.

Now I wait that TagDiv solves the issue with who has an “external” wpbakery installation

I have created a child theme for some changes that I want to carry across updates. However, when using the child theme, any changes to using different post templates are ignored, always using the default template. I am using the latest version of the theme. Is there anything else I need to do to bring template changes through when using a child theme? (I have switched to the newspaper theme and the template changes do then work)

Ah great, thank you – however, that means that changes will get overwritten with updates of the plugin, is there a way to overwrite this via my own code?

Same here …
Updated the theme and VC is broken.

AND tagDiv Composer seems to be having an issue loading when I try to pull up my homepage so I can edit with it. All plugins have already been updated.

This is unacceptable.

Previously contacted you about the 9.7.3 update and how it’s messed up my website. Tagdiv emailed me back w/ zero helpful information, telling me that I needed to update the site using one of three methods (which I did–that’s how the sight became jacked up from your update in the first place). I’d rolled it back to 9.7.2 previously, and attempted (yet again) to update to 9.7.3 today and it STILL messes up several aspects of my website.

For example, some of my advertising areas no longer display correctly, my “Blog” page no longer even seems to exist according to the mobile version; posts, when clicked on to visit on the desktop are pulling up as though it’s trying to make it a mobile version. Plugins that previously functioned fine with your theme no longer display PDF flipbooks that I’ve made for my site. Images are not displaying correctly…

And so on.

It is blatantly apparent from the flood of complaints in the forum that this issue cannot simply be “user error.”

We need you to fix this immediately–it’s causing my site to lose its audience.

PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO TELL ME TO DO WHAT I’VE ALREADY DONE.

Best regards,

S.J. Freeze

I’va made some changes on tagdiv_theme.js file a long time ago. Yesterday I’ve updated newspaper to latest version and I can’t see this file anymore (Changed location, same filename but different content).

If I add jQuery( '.tiled-gallery' ).magnificPopup function code to includes/js/tagdiv-theme.js file, will this work? OR whic file should edit to make some changes on gallery view?

Hello,

The templates I copied from the old Newspaper theme(before 9.7) to a custom child theme no longer work, as the original templates have been moved to the td-composer plugin.

You have an old guide here on how to do exactly this, but its no longer relevant as all the templates have been moved to the td-composer plugin.

Can you help me with making this work?

Thanks
