Hello,
Please make sure you use version 9.2.2 of the theme. If you do not have this version, please update using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
If you already have version 9.2.2 please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to your site and wp-admin so we can login and investigate why this happens.
Thank you!
Hi,
Indeed the rel next and prev even though present in the theme code, does not reflect on the front-end. I have checked this and indeed the code does not get through. We have already added this to our list for future updates and we will fix this in future releases of the theme.
Thank you!

Hi,
Please make sure that you have the latest version of theme, and all theme plugins are updated.
Also the screenshot that you provide is “Forbidden ”
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/na8tSZosH , and we can not investigate the problem;
Thank you for your understanding.
Hi,

Also please provide a link were we can inspect the problem, in this way we’ll be able to provide you a better answer.
Thank you for your understanding.
Hi,
Please clear all cache, and make a test, set a new block with those posts, and sort theme alphabetically, see if the problem persist.
If the problem is still there please try to change the name of post update and see if the alphabetically sort is working.
Thank you for your understanding.
Hi, the new dec 12 updates solved the issue. Thanks
Hi,
You can edit the post templates safely in a child theme, this way the modifications made to them will not be lost after a theme update
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
So you could do it like this, a child theme is considered a safe method to modify the theme files (the ones that are supported as mentioned in the guide).
Hi, Bogdam B. Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post.
I use the Yoast SEO plugin and it does not fix the problem, it works great for category and tags but the problem still persists on home page paginations.
And as for theme already including this in its codes, well it probably not working properly because the rel=”prev” and rel=”next” aren’t even generated in the demos provided by TagDiv themselves, which you can even check it yourself: view-source:https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_tech/page/3/
Also I made the mistake of double posting this question and another developer/support staff confirmed that this is the case, that is is a problem that has to be fixed at the theme level through an update: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/broken-canonical-tag-on-home-page/#post-268988
Anyway, if I am mistaken in any part please let me know, as I am not a theme developer and my understanding of the theme is very limited. But I have searched this whole forums to try to see if there’s fix for this but have only come up to the conclusion given by TagDiv staff Simion C.
Hi,
We ran the developers page speed test by Google and it has aksed us to do couple of things to fasten things up.
How can we do the following? Any options in the theme?
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gadgetbridge.com%2F&tab=mobile
websites: http://www.gadgetbridge.com
1) Eliminate render-blocking resources
2) Defer offscreen images
3) Defer unused CSS
4) Serve images in next-gen formats (does newspaper support webp image format?, I think I read somewhere it does not)
5) Minimize main-thread work and Reduce JavaScript execution time
Because of these the google mobile traffic has become lower, is there an update coming which is going to take of these?
Thanks
Hello Bogdan,
I did an automatic update through Envato’s Market plugin and then manually uploaded the plugins. The only theme in my WP admin area under “Appearance” > “Themes” is Newspaper.
Any other ideas as to how this happened and how I can possibly recover those text widgets? I do have a backup of the site prior to the update — is it possible to find the missing text widgets somewhere in the backup database and use that to recreate the widgets?
Thank you Bogdan…
I have updated the theme and still it is not working. Can you guys please help me?
after refreshing pages mega-menu items not showing thumbnails. https://www.davao.life How to get it to show them again? This happened after the update.
Hello,
Updated to the latest version, cleared cache but the featured image and thumbnail for the standard post is not working. All my new posts seem to be suffering from this issue. Here’s a sample of my post
http://www.pinoyhiphopsuperstar.com/pikaso-mnl-hip-hop-festival-2018/
My website: http://www.pinoyhiphopsuperstar.com/
http://prntscr.com/m070vq
http://prntscr.com/m07194
Also when shared to Facebook http://prntscr.com/m06zpi other image is being previewed. I have a featured image, enabled too and used the classic editor in WordPress.
What seems to be the problem.
Please help
Hi,
If you identified that the mobile is the cause in your case, deactivate it until the issue is solved by us and the theme is updated.
As I mentioned above, the settings or modifications you make in the page will be saved regardless of this issue, just that there will not be a success message and the saving animation will keep going.
But for a proper functionality, deactivate the mobile theme for the time being. Sorry again for this inconvenience.
Thanks
Hello,
It depends on the way you updated the theme If you kept the old theme and renamed it and then uploaded the new version and now have 2 versions of the theme in the appearance – themes section, this is not the correct way of updating and a practice we see used a lot. Please delete all of the theme versions from your install and then upload newspaper again. Your sidebars are kept with the old version and if you rename it and upload another version, the sidebars will not get moved over to the new theme. Only y deleting and uploading the new version will the sidebars be kept. Please use this guide to update properly: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Thank you!
Hi,
That was a known issue in the cloud library plugin, we investigated at the time and provided a fix for it which eventually got implemented in the them in update 9.2.
So you could either try the fix as provided in this topic, if updating is not an option for you at the moment
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/templates-resetting/
Or update the theme to the latest version.
Thanks
Hi,
Please update all the them plugins that you use as well, there should be an update button for each of them in the theme plugins panel
– https://www.screencast.com/t/NDCrYUV8Vd
Then the issues should be fixed. The tagDiv composer and social counter will try to update automatically when the theme is updated, but sometimes it fails. If this happens they have to be update manual as mentioned above.
Let us know if there are any further issues.
Thanks
Hi,
The lazyload issues were fixed in theme version 9.2.1, changelog here
– https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609
– https://www.screencast.com/t/PpqJRYrZRo
After updating most users reported the issue is fixed.
If you have updated to that version, cleared all caches including browser cache and there is still a problem when the lazyload is active, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, also cPanel or FTP if possible. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.
Thanks
Hi,
1. Should be same as before if the same database is used. If that was not the case, I imagine it would take a lot of time to set them again if there are many posts, categories tags etc.
Most users recommend the duplicator plugin which should migrate/move the database, WordPress, theme etc without losing anything.
I don’t have much experience with databases unfortunately, so I can’t gibe you an advice in the matter.
2. The tagDiv composer and the social counter plugin have an automated update implementation, so when the theme is updated they should do the same automatically. However in some cases this fails and they will deactivate themselves, so they will have to be updated manually in the theme plugins panel for example (there will be an update button)
Thanks
Hi,
maybe you installed a theme demo. This is the default behavior when switching demos as it will set the theme to the demo default settings. You do not have to switch demos after a theme update. If you do decide to make the switch, then these issues will happen each time you make the switch.
Thank you!
Hi,
That seems to be the case, the pagination in the latest section does not have rel next/prev.
I will add this on our list, we will see what can be done about it for a future update.
Thanks
Hi turanika,
Please notice that any license support updates. There’s no problem in this case! Check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ We recommend the FTP way because this is the surest method in this case.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
So while saving the page in the composer the save animation keeps spinning? There is an issue currently with the mobile theme plugin, which causes this to happen.
The content or settings in the page will be saved, but the animation will be unresponsive and there will be no success message.
We try to fix issues that are identified as quickly as possible. We make many tests before releasing updates containing new additions or fixes, but sometimes issues still happen. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks
Hi,
1. Why exactly can’t the WPBakery page builder be used anymore? It is provided in the theme package and we test it periodically, usually when it is updated
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
There is no need to active the WPBakery plugin, only purchased versions from the plugin author will have a license key. The bundled version with the theme doesn’t have to be activated.
What are the problems you are having with the WPBakery page builder?
2. Here are some guides – https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
Block settings guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/’
The tagDiv composer is a front-end builder only. It’s possibilities were greatly increased by the addition of the cloud library plugin
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
If you have more questions please let us know.
Thanks
