I mostly use Template 7 but I love Template 8 – but 8 seems to corrupt on mobile -the demo looks perfect on mobile – but when I use it on my site it creates a small strip of the body text to the left third of the screen (smartphone) – the large image is on the right hand two thirds. Tablet and desktop all fine. Would love to know if there’s a fix for this.

No cache no cdn no lazy load

Google Fonts not loading - topic

Hey there,

I’ve selected Open Sans as the font for the header menu and some other things, seen here: http://themedium.ca

“Latin” is checked in the theme panel for which Google Fonts subsets to load.

But at the moment I can only see Chrome actually displaying Open Sans. Firefox and Edge are showing a placeholder.

When I check sources, I see that Chrome is indeed loading the CSS and hence fonts from Google:

But FF and Edge are only loading Roboto, not Open Sans:

I’ve already purged all caches. I am using a CDN, but my htaccess allows font downloads, as you can see from Roboto and even my custom font files.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

Try to disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache and see if you still have this issue as I have checked your site and you have many js errors in the console – http://screencast.com/t/JvumqolXWQk These errors are usually caused by plugins that are in conflict with the theme javascript.

Hi

This is a very strange issue and I am not sure appears like that. On our demo, for example, the block aren’t edited from more then 1 month and also the latest post was published last year, however the posts are displayed fine in blocks.
If this happens again try to clear all caches deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer and test again.

Hello,

I tested this at my end and it changes from 3 seconds to 6 seconds. Try to input a bigger value to see if the ticker gets affected at all. Try something like 30 to make it real fast or 30000 to make it really slow and see if anything changes at all. If not, try to clear your cache or try it without plugins at all (except visual composer).

Hi,

What device do you use? I also tested this on S4 mini(android) and and did not found any issues.
Please disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache and check again. Also you could try to disable lazy load effect and see if you still have this issue – http://screencast.com/t/34AMsRuQ

So I have cleared my cache, and reloaded the site multiple times, but my most recent post still does not appear 30 minutes after I posted it. It shows on my tablet.

Any further help you could give would be appreciated.

Hi

Thanks for your suggestions. Yes, I thought it might be some kind of caching problem, but why does it only affect my site with Newspaper and not my other site which has a different theme? My other site updates instantly on the same PC.

I’ll look into WP Super Cache. but I have no idea what ‘CDN files’ are, sorry. Could you give me some more info please?

Hello,

Unfortunately we have not tested this plugin with our theme and cannot say for sure if it will work 100% or not. The recommended caching plugin to use with our theme is WP Super Cache which is tested to work.

i have a little problem with my Pageview Counter.
After the instalation of “WP Fastest Cache” https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-fastest-cache/
the counter is stopped.

What can i do?

Hello,

Please try to clear your cache and/or try using a different caching plugin: we recommend WP Super Cache for the job. You can also try to purge your CDN files if you use it as Ing Geek suggested.

Hi

Check if the media library works with a default WP theme. Also try to deactivate all plugin, clear all caches and test again. If the problem persist please provide more details.

Please disable all your plugins except Visual Composer, clear cache, re-save your permalinks and make sure you don’t have duplication(same title for posts, pages..), then check if the issue persist.
What content do you have to that page?

Hi,

Did you tried without any plugins active except Visual Composer? Also clear cache.
The theme doesn’t have an option to block text selection and I suspect that it comes from a plugin. I have checked this also on version 4 of the theme and couldn’t recreate it.

Thats not Newspaper problem.
Could be your hosting, cache, CDN, and a lot of things.

You are loading an old cached page 🙂

I’ve tested this feature on our theme and everything seems to be all right and the image is not showed twice. Please remove all active plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and try it again.
If the problem persist, please let me know.

Hello,

I’m not sure why this occurs, but you can try these following methods:
– Switch to a different theme and then reactivate newspaper,
– Clear your cache and disable all plugins (check the panel with no plugin active),
If everything else fails, try to reinstall the theme. Make a back-up of your database and also back-up your modifications if you have any and perform a clean install via FTP: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
In rare cases files can get corrupted upon install.

I’ve test this on my site and the trademark character is displayed fine on mobile devices: http://screencast.com/t/5pPyxwON I suspect that you have this issue because of a different css which applies on that character. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again. If the problem persist please provide a link so I can inspect it closer.

The sort order in search template should be by latest, you can check it also on our demo – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/?s=
Try to disable all your plugins except of Visual Composer, clear cache and see if you still have this issue. Also if you have some custom modifications to the theme files please remove them.

Hi,

Please check this without any plugins active except the Visual Composer, clear cache and check again. You should also check the max_input_vars directive from you php.ini file and make sure that it’s set above 2000, you can check this in system status section within theme’s panel: http://screencast.com/t/HPlker5y
If this doesn’t solve your issue, please contact your host and explain the situation as it could be caused by the server settings.

Hi,

Please check your console for errors I suspect the infinite load pagination doesn’t work. Also check this without any plugins active except of Visual Composer, clear cache and see if it works.
I have checked this on my side and did not found any issues, even if you use this kind of pagination instead of classic, it should load all the posts from that category. You can control only the number of posts to be displayed per page – http://screencast.com/t/RQ9JngNo
