Hi,

Please try this without any plugins active, leave only Visual Composer active, empty cache and purge your files if you use CDN. Also update your theme if you don’t use the latest version 1.6 Use this guide if you need to update(FTP method): https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-theme/
Do you have this issue since you use the theme or this issue appeared from now?

I know updatet the theme and Visual Composer and JetPack. It says version 444 so I hope that is correct. It hasnt done any difference but maybe if I update Revolution slider? If I do that then I have to make the templates with animation and the post slide again.

A link to the site is: http://www.krimbloggen.no/

I will let it have the frontpage with the revolutionslider on until you have seen the problem.

Thanks!!

Hi,

Please make sure that you update the theme properly you can check version that you have in Theme Panel: http://screencast.com/t/UVDafFra as I’m not sure why this is happens and I cannot recreate(now it is happens even with less posts). Also if your theme is updated please try again without any plugins active, leave only Visual Composer active, clear cache and check again.

If this still doesn’t solve your issue please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com , paste a link to this conversation and provide wp-access so we will take a look.

Thanks!

Hi,

You can try to disable all plugins, leave just Visual Composer an Revolution Slider active, also clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN and check if the issue is still there. If you say that it worked maybe was a plugin conflict there.

Thanks!

After updating Newspaper theme to version 4.6.2 and then the plugin Visual Composer to version 4.4.2, there is no changes in the available elements that I can use. I mean, when I want to add an element, they are the same that in the previous version, I cannot see new elements such as post or portfolio grid.

I have followed the steps that you detail in the forum to update the plugin (deactivate, delete and install the new one), and, in fact, the plugin version has changed (to 4.4.2.), but the elements are the same.

Hi Support: this may be an visual composer question

1) How can I shrink the space between each visual block? I am working on my home page using your template but the there is a huge space between the header menu and the first block content
2) Do you have a block of display just to display article title and date?

Thanks

I think I discovered the issue, and I think it is a coding problem with Newsmag.

Prior to 1.6 I could have Visual Composer (Which I completely hate) disabled and everything would work fine. In 1.6 if Visual Composer is not active, even if you are not using it for ANYTHING, it breaks your website.

This is pretty sad.

Please fix your code and make Visual Composer optional like it was prior to 1.6

Note Visual Composer and JetPack have long history of on/off/on/off problems, including images, the sharing tool, publicize, etc., and nothing to do with the theme itself. Sadly TagDiv cannot “fix” any issue with VC and other plugins.

You can try going back a version on Visual Composer, as that will sometimes work.

Alternately, consider that you may need to “freeze” your setup in between versions while compatibility issues between things “catch up” to changes.

So, “go back” to what works, then wait a dot revision on everything and test again.

If you’re using a high value production site, you can also consider making a test install someplace, such as a sub-domain, or even a sub-directory of your site, and test the plugins work together after version changes — then don’t propagate to the production version if one plugin doesn’t work well with another.

The great thing about WP is having the hooks and plugins to extend what it does; the bad thing is that all you need is one “bad actor” to load jquery wrong, or use a common class name, or something else, and it breaks all the pipes.

I’m sure you already know all of that, but just some input on this which I’ve had to suffer myself with 10 years of WordPress shenanigans.

Unfortunately, I spent too much time yesterday on troubleshooting and if I turn on Jetpack I would have to turn off visual composer which would effect my site and I don’t want to keep doing this.

Right now all of the posts where I used the JETPACK photo gallery (which is a lot because we cover Red carpet events) are not transformed into thumbnail photos and I would have to go back to all of them (hundreds) to change them to something else….

I will wait for you to look at these two plugins for compatibility because I am not going to be the only one who has this problem…

hi,
I’m trying to create a page (with visual composer) with the following schedule: 2/4 + 1/4 + 1/4 but I can not understand what I have to use blocks. In fact, or the block exceeds the size available to and invades another column (for example the block 13), or moves forward a little white space (for example, using the block 4 set with the display of a single post). It seems that the blocks are only made for the size 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3, or 2/3 + 1/3. Even if I change for individual blocks, the number of posts to display, the result does not change, and the blocks do not scale based on the space to be occupied. How can I fix?

P.S. sorry but I do not know English well and I used google translator, I hope you understand

Hi,

Please try to set size for ad from Theme Panel – http://screencast.com/t/FGqZmjxKKd if this doesn’t work maybe ad has a specific size in code. Also please try to display it in other sections(article inline, bottom…) and if you still have issues.
Also deactivate all plugins and leave only Visual Composer active and check again. Also note that adsense are not responsive on the fly, you have to refresh the window in order to get the right size ads for current screen width.

Thanks!
