Thank you for your honest feedback. We appreciate taking the time to explain your point of view regarding our product and its functionality. We understand that you are not satisfied with the latest updates, but the other products you mentioned go beyond the functionality of a news WordPress theme. One of the aforementioned themes works with a universal page builder used by many other themes as well. In tagDiv Composer, we’ve created the functionality, the pre-built editable templates from the tagDiv Cloud Library, including the PRO demos which are totally customizable from top to bottom – everything is specially built to meet the requirements of a blog, news, magazine, or any other publishing-related websites.
The mentioned products are aimed at different industries and are sold outside the Envato Market, while their functionality and customers’ demands are totally distinct from ours. For example, some themes can be downloaded for free and to get the needed functionality you have to pay for additional plugins.
We have a list of suggestions and features’ requests and each of our updates is based on it. The more requested a feature is, the sooner we can implement it. However, we cannot implement every small feature or add compatibility with all the plugins available. I’m sorry that you feel disappointed.
If you feel that Newspaper doesn’t meet your expectations anymore, we’re really sorry to see you go. We are always here to assist you with your theme.

First of all, please start looking for a plugin conflict, deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.

Please install the theme on a staging website, and use only tagDiv plugins and see the problem persists.
Also, what demo did you install a Pro or a Standard?

In the archive file that you download from Envato, you will see this plugins folder and in it, you will find Revolution Slider: https://www.screencast.com/t/fKpw56uPo5n
. It is a bundled plugin, you can use it without need of an activation key

Most of Newsmag pre build demos have assigned a custom class on the body -> https://i.imgur.com/tpUkMHd.png and using that class are assigned some extra css, for example -> https://i.imgur.com/LkP5a5u.png -> https://i.imgur.com/BcNKHE3.png so if you want to keep the design you need to use a css to change the colors, for example -> https://i.imgur.com/F8j0JPr.png

Or you can remove the extra class and the settings from theme panel and tagDiv Composer

Thank you for reaching out. Can you please be more specific about the empty columns between the blocks? Do you refer to the usage of columns while using the tagDiv Composer page builder? If this is the case, the empty columns appear only in the editing mode and are displayed only if you have a row divided in multiple columns and you don’t add any elements in some of the columns. This will leave the columns empty and the message “empty column” will be displayed. However, this can only be seen in the editing mode. If you need help with this, please let us know and we will guide you through.

The WPBackery page builder cannot be used along with the tagDiv Composer. They are not compatible. I’m sorry for this inconvenience! You can use the WPBackery plugin if you want. But you cannot use the tagDiv Cloud Library nor the PRO demos, as well as other tools that include the Header Builder, Footer Manager, and more, because the functionality is given by the tagDiv Composer page builder. We’ve specifically created this custom page builder so you can easily edit pages and posts on the frontend using adaptive elements and amazing visuals. Unfortunately, there’s no possible way to make two different page builders work at the same time. They have distinct functionality and coding specifications.
