Do the same as the preview template - topic

I purchased the template this morning and i tried the demo installation with the content at first.
Later i uninstalled and tried without the content.

Question : With the content included, the template appeared just like the preview template.
However, the template without the content looks very much different. How can i do it like the preview one?

Ok, I just installed child theme and did following.

Copied style.css from Newspaper to Newspaper-child
Made necessary changes to style.css under Newspaper-child

Hope it’s ok ?

Hi,

Unfortunately this file will be overwritten when you will update the theme. A solution is to use child theme as style.css file can be overwritten by child theme files. You can find the child theme, if you want to install it, in /code folder from package that you downloaded from themeforest – https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/

Yes, can add add xing social network to appear to your profile like I suggested above, also install Font Awesome 4 Menus plugin and use this custom css – http://screencast.com/t/qdyVUMxI

Problem with Visual composer - topic

Hello
I’m receiving the following error when trying to add an additional widget bar:

i disable all pluggin to see if the problem is any of those, but the error remains so i guess is a problem of the theme.

I just purchased this theme and a few pages are blank.
Homepage – Magazine
Homepage – Newspaper
Homepage – Sport
Homepage – Tech
Homepage – Video
News – Front Page
…..

Please have a look this screenshot ( http://screenshot.net/plvo7cr )
wp admin bar part is also blank.

We have installed on our local server.
Any solution for it?

It’s in install demos, deselect content to import settings only. Don’t forget to backup first.

Cannot install Newspaper 6.2 - topic

When trying to install this theme, it aborts installing process and just redirects me to page not found. I also tried to upload the Newspaper.zip directly on server but I got warning that the file may contain a virus.

I don’t have previous version of theme, I’m installing it from scratch.

I purchased Newspaper 6 and I want to use the TECH version. The only problem is that i cant install none of the demos. The theme is activated. When i click INSTALL it loads about 30% and freezes there. After 10 minutes i get an error “Ajax error. Could not connect to server”. Im guessing that it could not connect to the server where is the demo. Can anyone help me with this?

Great Thank’s! It funny because some pages show fine but may be due to the size of the Grid. I will try to remove the Child and Re-Install making sure its current! If not change the css code.

Couldn't install demo content into Newspaper 6.1 - reply

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I was finally able to fix the issue and this happened due to misconfiguration from my hosting provider company. But now I got another issue. After installing demo I saw everything was perfect except the top slider. There is a big white space generated on the right side of the slider and 2 posts gone below the slider which was supposed to be in 4 box grid. Here’s my website to check the issue. Please give me a solution for this issue to launch my site finally.

Hi,

You can just install the theme there and start configure it with the existing content you have now. We don’t have a specific guide on how to change themes but you can use our installation guide here: http://screencast.com/t/KgyZg4IDO – https://forum.tagdiv.com/wordpress-information/

You should also consider into the process at the following aspects:

– backup your current theme/WordPress/database: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
– setup a maintenance mode and you can use a plugin for that.
– empty all caches/purge files if you also use CDN host then disable any services of this type until you switch to the new theme
– disable all plugins
– install the theme then install the required plugins
– switch back the rest of the plugins and start other services

The theme blocks filters are based on categories and tags but you can also use authors filters: http://screencast.com/t/chg98E7KAt But to answer your question, then yes, it would be better to add tags to your posts or organize theme into several categories this would make your theme customization work easier.

Ok – after a reinstall of the theme I got the following error message when I load epictutorials.com/wp-admin:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/epictu6/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/external/class-tgm-plugin-activation.php on line 1551

The website loads… but has errors: http://epictutorials.com

Hi,

Please make sure that you have updated the theme properly using this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Also make sure that you use the latest version of Visual Composer, install and activate it from here – http://screencast.com/t/sICGwGTQXQTh and check the version – http://screencast.com/t/pSDK3ooFurWV If you need to update the Visual Composer plugin, please delete the old plugin and update the latest version. Let me know how it goes!

I tried disabling the Plugins folder via FTP – doing so results in this:

W3 Total Cache Error: some files appear to be missing or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove /home/epictu6/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/epictu6/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/external/class-tgm-plugin-activation.php on line 2238

Remove (renaming) the advanced-cache.php does nothing.

Hi,

Please make sure you delete the VC plugin folder like instructed here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/ and then install the version provided with the theme’s files. Let me know how it goes!

Issues with Optimize Press - topic

I installed Optimize Press but it’s not playing nice with Newspaper. Whenever I try to create a new page and edit that page inside the plugin I get a fancybox popup that’s empty.

Okay, I have no idea what is going on. restarted my computer and then change a few things in theme panel and now the changes are reflected but then I go back into Theme Panel and try to change a few more things and …. right back to not reflecting any changes. I didn’t have this issue before on the previous install but now it is really starting to hamper progress on the website :/ Is tagDiv doing some sort of update work on the theme or something, I don’t get it.

I have changed memory as such:

define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '96M');

no change.

It is a clean install, am using main theme not a child theme. I have turned of all plugins besides VC. As for the logo problem, I have uploaded it to the media library with WordPress admin panel so it changes the path successfully on the Theme Panel and saves just fine but then when I view the site, no changes have taken place even after I clear my cache in browser. I can change it only if I upload it directly in cPanel or FTP it in but I shouldn’t have to do that lol. And nothing else I do in Theme Panel reflects any changes either, I can modify top bar, header, ad codes and pretty much everything else and even tells me it has saved successfully but then when viewing the site… no change.

Did you increase memory in your wp-config.php file?

Did you do clean install vs just move it ?

Use main theme, not child theme.

Turn off all plugins except VC.

Make sure you changed the domain name in anything which used that, like internal links to images, etc.
