Thanks Lucian. Yeah we just got it working by reinstalling the theme files – it was really weird. Thanks for checking up – have a great day too!

Hi guys,

We installed your theme here: http://www.goodnewsunlimited.com/

But it is not displaying. I tried uninstalling all plugins and it is still the same. Why?

Not all post templates show the captions. (Style 2 does, style 4 doesn’t, haven’t played around with the others.)

I had this same need so I installed the plugin Advanced Custom Fields, added a metabox for photographers, and manually displayed the data saved there after the author. I found this a bit of a complicated process if you’ve never done anything like it and had to do a lot of reading. I can try to walk you through it if you want.

One easy way might be to try a plugin like Better Image Credits, which can take some credit fields and automatically output it at the top or bottom of your post, or other settings.

It’s still not working. I just replied to contact@tagdiv.com with my login credentials. Thanks.

Hi,

You could try to change the theme colors to the ones you like directly into the style.css file like this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/about-default-theme-colors/#post-17657 this way just the one that you want will be loaded.
Also please try to re-install the speed booster plugin and check again.
Hope this helps!

Thanks

Hi,

I deactivated all other plugins but that didn’t work.
I also tried to delete it and then install it as you said but it still doesn’t work…

Hi,

Please make sure to have the GD library installed and also make sure you have writing permissions on /wp-content/uploads
If you have done this and still the images are not showing please try to upload an image and see if you get any errors.
Please let us know if you still have any issues also please send an link to your site.

Regarding the floating feature for the menu you can add it from theme panel like this: http://screencast.com/t/kGBBOgZgTv

Thanks

When trying to access Theme Panel of my blog it turns from blue to grey and prevent me to make any changes and also breaks the whole tab of my chrome. It has started when I installed the plugin WPematico, which automatize my posts creation. Can’t I use this plugin with your theme?

I used the demo content install button but no images are showing up and the navigation bar isn’t floating when I scroll up from the bottom of the page.

Disqus comments show up quickly, unless you have it setup to hold for approval; but the comment counts rarely are accurate. I just disable them in the templates. They do NOT work on the author template page for example and always show “0 comments” … not that most people really care how many comments a story happens to have.

Sync with comments has nothing to do with the theme, but with WordPress. So, once you install DisQus you use the tools for the plugin to sync existing comments to their server so they’ll show up at bottom of posts. It can take a couple of hours, depending on how many comments your site has.

Hope that helped 🙂

I’m having issues resolving this to be honest.

I have installed the SEO plugin by Yoast and added title and description which is showing when I right click > view page source. I have also done the same for social option in the SEO plugin by Yoast but when sharing the link to my homepage I still get this: http://take.ms/HMhfW (also happens on other social platforms)

For the sake of clarity here are screenshots of social and homepage meta information I have added in the SEO plugin by Yoast: http://take.ms/M0QpX and http://take.ms/k533C

I’d also like to add that I don’t understand the information when I add my URL here: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ Please help!!

Hi,

Try to use the Theme with only the Visual Composer plugin and deactivate all other plugins and see if stars working.
Also please delete the plugins and install like here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/

Thanks

I just installed the theme and all the plugins. It asks me to update VC but I can’t (read in another posts that it isn’t necessary). Now, the Visual Composer does not work for me.

I’ve used it before and I know there should be a button above ‘Add Media’ that you click but instead it’s opened below the text field and I can’t load templates or anything. A screenshot is here: http://i59.tinypic.com/2lwvfd4.png

How do I fix this or how do I use this?
I need the VC for a lot of stuff such as the homepage so I’m stuck now.

Hi,

Thanks @Christopher!

@charlesruelle

This may be due to Ajax.
You will get a reply via e-mail.

I have the same problem!

What’s the solution?

charlesruelle

Thanks.
I tried to remove all my plugins and to reinstall only those needed.
But it doesn’t work.
Do I have to check some php limits variables ?

simchris

This issue is typically due to
1) theme not installed properly
2) Using Internet Explorer which doesn’t always handle the Ajax properly
3) running plugin with errors, or you have leftover theme code from prior theme running, either as plugin, or using OLD version of Visual Composer that did not come with this theme
4) caching not turned off prior to theme setup, so you are loading elements of old theme in browser

Good places to start.

Could you please explain to me how i can solve this problem ? i have the same !

Thanks for that! I have installed the Yoast plugin.

For future reference could you tell me the path for the meta tags?

1. That widget looks like a normal TagDiv slider pulling from a category or tag slug. You can find this in your widgets list. I don’t want to install the demo site and check but it’ll be something like that.

2. The block options, whether widget or in the visual editor, have a setting “show child categories menu” that you can check for this effect.

1. I haven’t seen a way, but it is a little flexible; it seems to crop a little when it executes the resize. The original demo images are not actually all the same dimensions before being resized, e.g.:

http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/DeskWalls-672.jpg

http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/DeskWalls-124.jpg

And the featured images on my site, which were all 960×540 from when I imported them to this WordPress install, are cropped pretty well in the big slider. Note that you might be facing an issue that there is some documentation on:

https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-fix-strange-thumbnails/

2. The homepage is a regular WordPress page that gets marked as the front page in the WordPress settings (under “Reading”). You could have the other pages look like it by editing the homepage, switching to classic mode, copying all the shortcodes you see there, and pasting those into a new page. Then switch to the backend editor on the new page and tweak from there.

best bet is to review the docs for the theme:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-documentation/

really simple, but best way to do it is via FTP:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/

1. How to update the theme (manual)

Here are the steps required to update the theme via FTP:
◾Connect to your FTP account using Filezilla
◾It is a good idea to make a backup of your current theme installation
◾Unzip the theme downloaded from http://www.themeforest.net to a folder, in this folder you will find a file called Newspaper.zip
◾Unzip the theme (Newspaper.zip)
◾Via Filezilla go to the wordpress theme directory “your site public html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper”
◾Overwrite the files from that FTP folder with the ones from the content of Newspaper.zip

Have you managed to install it?
Please let me know if you have any other problems, specify the issues details and send a link to your site also.

Thanks @Christopher!

Hi Lucian,

You are right, reinstalling the speed booster 2.5 fixes it (in combination with theme version 4.2).

Thanks!
