Hello,
I recently updated to Newspaper latest version and having problems with ad displays. I run an online journal/magazine. Even the earlier version 9.1 had the same issue. Let me outline the issue.
1. On my Home Page, just before the Featured Article/Slider, etc and below my masthead/Header, I have enabled the Header ad and placed the Google code properly. The thing is sometimes, the ads show up and sometimes they don’t
2. On the same Home Page, I have placed one ad in the middle of page. This NEVER displays.
3. On the same Home Page, I have placed one ad BEFORE the footer. This NEVER displays. I have used the “AdBox” element in the TD Composer.
4. On individual articles page, I have the following ads:
— Header Ad
— One ad BEFORE the article starts
— One inline ad (I used the code on the Inline Ad in the theme panel)
On individual articles page, the end-of-article ad displays always.
On the mobile version, ads seem to be working properly.
Please help so that ALL the ads that I have set up will display correctly.
Thanks so much!
Hi,
Unfortunately, the theme does not have any such an option for AMP custom fonts, sorry! If you want to add custom fonts for your AMP, you need to check the following topic from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/change-font-of-mobile-theme/ where was discussed this case and follow the steps from the official documentation.
Hope this helps!
Thank you!
Hi there,
Black and white buttons does not show all borders in mobile devices, just top and left.
Could you fix this?
Hi,
I’ve placed the video on the homepage and it’s working fine on PC but it’s not working on mobile.
I also don’t want the play button. It should automatically play the video as in PC version.
Thanks
Hi,
This problem is usually caused by some plugins that create some conflict ( untested plugins), please deactivate all non theme plugins, also if you are using child theme ( or cache plugin ), clear all cache deactivate the cache/child plugin and try again.
Please make sure that you set the amp like in our documentation
How to Make an AMP Ready Website with Newspaper Theme -> https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/
Mobile Theme: Automatic Optimization for Mobile with Newspaper Theme -> https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/

Also please check some similar topics -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/amp-problem-4/
Thank you!
@calin
I dont know who is @Jumich,
But Im glad you find out that if you search my website in google, it sends you to an AMP page
That means that AMP is working properly on my website
The problem that Im trying to tell you is that the mobile theme does not load AMP
In fact, mobile theme is just not loading on my site when I select the
USE MOBILE THEME FOR: AMP
And when I select the
USE MOBILE THEME FOR: MOBILE+AMP then the theme loads but does not load AMP
Hi espedfk2,
I checked again and your menu is working, but I think that you do not quiet understand how mobile theme plugin is working!
The mobile theme is a plugin that provide you a better speed then responsive version of theme, but in order to achieve that speed you’ll need to use for pages that are made with builders ( tagDiv Composer, WPBakery ) only the mobile editor, also for mobile theme the content for pages need to be set in mobile editor -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ebUIzt4se
Please check carefully our documentation for Mobile Theme: Automatic Optimization for Mobile with Newspaper Theme ->https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/
Thanks.
You see it because I’ve choose an option “Mobile + AMP” so there is a lot of post indexed by Google as an AMP. I would prefer to work with third option “AMP” only, but in my and my team opinion this option does not work properly. I would prefer it because in theory it allows me to choose post/pages, but as i mentioned before it’s not working. One of us is really wrong 😉 BTW… I use only your solutuion for AMP and have no other plugin for this. I’ll try onece again with an “AMP” option but it will be the last chance…

Hi,
I checked a few posts from your website and those was AMP ( also amp is static/html ), please check like this, in mobile go on google search for a post and if this have the amp logo will go on amp view -> https://www.screencast.com/t/qzAEQRpOiVR0
@Jumich please notice that in Newspaper c9.6.1 you have 3 options, one for only mobile, one for mobile and AMP( this option is working only with the AMP that we provide ), and AMP ( this option allow you on which page/post to make AMP, also this option is available only with provided AMP plugin and will display the mobile design ); if you choose to use others amp plugins -> https://www.screencast.com/t/klPekGTzwi0F -> https://www.screencast.com/t/EjRDB03fp
Thank you!
Hi,
That demo doesn’t have the AMP plugin active, it can be checked out on mobile as it has the mobile theme active. The AMP variant will look exactly the same.
Now after the latest update, to test AMP you can add to the URL this /?amp we have updated the documentation – https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/
There is an issue with the AMP comments currently, meaning that the fields of the comments don’t have a description or placeholder – http://prntscr.com/n2zr14
For this issue there is a quick fix in this topic – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/amp-and-mobile-theme/
I could take a look if there are problems when using our mobile theme and AMP. Please post a link to the website so I can test with the validator.
Thanks
Using official AMP plugin by WordPress but don’t want to use tagdiv mobile theme. Please tell me how to make homepage AMP ready without tagdiv mobile plugin?
Hi,
There were some more reports from our users regarding the ads size on mobile.
We did a few tests on our site,but the adsense ads were displayed correctly
– https://www.screencast.com/t/J3tQnujr – https://www.screencast.com/t/VQjC6psBHL
Please try to set a fix size for mobile ads -> https://www.screencast.com/t/bAo1WWn4KR clear all cache and see if the problem is still there.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
What kind of AMP plugin or implementation are you using? The posts and other pages seem to have AMP available – http://prntscr.com/n2z8p1 – http://prntscr.com/n2z8zh only the homepage doesn’t.
Our solution consists of mobile theme and official AMP plugins, as mentioned here
– https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/
But using these plugins is not required or forced, you can use other AMP plugins if needed.
Thanks
There were some other reports from our users with the ad sizes not being respected, especially 300px sizes, on mobile only.
We are making some tests on our side, but the adsense ads we are using are displaying properly at all times for example
– https://www.screencast.com/t/J3tQnujr – https://www.screencast.com/t/VQjC6psBHL
Something may be affecting them in specific cases, we will run some more tests. Try to set the ad sizes to a smaller size in the theme panel, below 300px, just for mobile. Let us know.
I just updated to the latest version. I updated the mobile plugin and Downloaded the WP Amp plugin. When I view the site on mobile, it looks fine, but when I add “amp” to the back of the URL as I have in the past to test amp, it’s broken. It shows hyperlinks instead of the social share icons, and my footer is now a bunch of code and HTML. See the URL here: http://goingfor2.com/running-back-perfect-pairings/?amp
In today’s Internet, more than 60% of the traffic is mobile, I can’t believe that TagDiv still makes desktop-first products
Hi,
In order to achieve that AMP layout please check our documentation for amp -> https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/
You need to use the mobile theme with amp, in this way the Amp will look like mobile theme and will have a menu and the design and functionality like mobile theme.
See the results -> https://www.screencast.com/t/1zRe9TpQaG
Thank you!
Hi,
I think that you are referring to those 3 blocks, for those you’ll need to have set seam feature posts (that have set feature category) -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-posts-2/ -> https://www.screencast.com/t/QsJ6ppY4
You’ll need to add some post in feature category -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-posts-2/ if you do not have this category you can create it, just make sure that you set the category name to be
Featured
Mobile Theme: Automatic Optimization for Mobile with Newspaper Theme -> https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/
You can change the “Latest Article” from Theme panel translations ( this will work only if you do not have any text set in latest articles title ) -> https://www.screencast.com/t/HHSIjsak
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/BBRAQPvo
Thank you!
Hi,
In order to remove the footer logo from mobile theme you can use this custom css
.td-footer-wrap .td-footer-logo{
display: none;
}
Thank you!
Hi,
In order to remove the “About Us” section please set this custom css in Theme panel>Mobile theme>Custom code>Custom css
.td-footer-wrap .td-footer-description {
display: none;
}
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/3kvF3IwD
Thank you!
Hello,
Please first make sure amp is properly implemented as shown here: https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/
The YouTube video shows the old implementation.
This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except the page builder, mobile theme and AMP clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Thank you!
Thanks for your answer. But I mean the caroussel of google search results on the mobile
Previously to change in the mobile plugin, it pulled the logo used in the yoast for webpage
as the links below explain:
https://www.seroundtable.com/google-posts-about-amp-logo-guidelines-22232.html
Hey guys,
1. I was wondering if your plugin already makes our AMP pages discoverable, or we have to do something like this: https://www.ampproject.org/docs/fundamentals/discovery
2. Another question, if I’d like to force all my mobile pages to be AMP, how can I do that? Isn’t that the best practise? Otherwise, when will my AMP pages be used?
3. Should caching on mobile be disabled when using AMP?
Cheers
Hello,
The amp logo on the footer can only be removed by removing this code from the mobile theme: https://www.screencast.com/t/Yk2eGAyDOMi
Thank you!
