Hello,
1. I would like to translate, using WPML, the text from this section:
Dashboard >> Newspaper >> Theme panel >> Footer >> Footer info content >> Footer Text. In the td_footer_extra.php file I’ve found this code (on line 64):
$buffy .= stripcslashes($td_footer_text);
I think I could add a method like _e() to make it tranlatable but I’m not sure and I can’t afford to make any mistakes because it’s a very big website (more than a few thousands posts).
I’ve also tried this: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/how-to-translate-my-footer-content/, but the website main language isn’t english so I wasn’t able to translate it to english.
2. How can I use the same widget ( here is: [tagDiv] Block 7 ) with different text for different languages? In Appearance >> Widgets >> [tagDiv] Block 7 >> Display on language, but when I hit save, it automatically switch the option back to All languages so the result is the same as before
3. Is it possible to translate News Ticker and Big Grid Slide from VisualComposer?
On front page I have a News Ticker with a Big Grid Slide, but on the translated version of the page it doesn’t show anymore.
Thank you in advance for your time
PS. I’m using Newspaper v8.7
Hi,
Please make sure that the theme system status is configured as mentioned in the requirements guide. Please follow the guide carefully
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
tagDiv Composer tutorial-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
With TagDiv Composer you can create pages, templates but not posts.
You can not use composer for creating posts, only templates for posts
tagDiv Cloud Library plugin -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
Thank you for your understanding.
Hi,
This can be caused by a plugin, please deactivate all plugins, clear all cache , re-save the permalinks and try again.
Also please read this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/520-error-with-td-composer-after-updating-to-newspaper-9-1/
Thank you for your understanding.
Hello, Catalin.
None of that (in that entry) works.
– Raised memory to 128
– Included recommended lines in .htaccess
– This is development server. We have no traffic
– Do not use Yoast
– Do not use Cache (This is a development server)
– It is important to note that the problem only arises if the page is selected as the blog page, otherwise it all goes fine. If I deselect the same page from a blog page, it can be edited.
Is it enough if I send you FTP server login and WP login? Or do you need server credentials?
Thanks.
NOTE: PHP error log has this: [18-Sep-2018 17:10:04 UTC] PHP Notice: Undefined index: Newsmag in /home/biotikas/public_html/noticierodigital/cms/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/includes/tdc_version_check.php on line 26
Hi,
I do not know this information for sure, but this came with WordPress and I think it will work with amp.
Unfortunately would not work if there are build with visual composer.
You can try your amp pages/post here https://validator.ampproject.org/ , but be notice that sometime take few days until google indexed your url.
Thank you for your understanding.
Hi,
You can do this in more ways, one of theme is to set a padding or margin on that element with td Composer
https://www.screencast.com/t/lkW69igE
Or you can insert a custom cee in Newspaper>theme panel>Custom code> Custom css ( or you can add it in Advanced css on device you want )
https://www.screencast.com/t/Wwr0xfdR6q
.td-block-width{
padding-left: 25px;
padding-right: 25px;
}
Thanks.
Hello rom1devweb70,
No, is not needed to use a child theme if you want to customize your page with TD Composer. The child theme is useful when you want to make some additional customizations through the code which you do not want to be lost after a theme update.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello drjeff_007,
Did you have checked all the TD Composer settings? Star reading our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/ Also, after you have read this, you should be able to properly use all of TD Composer settings. As a hint, if you want to use some elements in full-width you need to stretch the ROW from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/syLy3ze8dwCj
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello djaspreet39,
Did you are referring to this section from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/q2F3Vp5dj? Provide more details about your customize section so I can provide a more accurate response. Also, please check the following documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
Thanks for your understanding!
As I tested: installed plugins and php version doesnt matter (v7.2 has the same problem)
As I understand tagDiv composer doesnt work on “Posts” , only activated at “Pages” editor.
how can I use composer for posts?
in future how can i convert composer posts to classic wordpress posts?
Any page that we try to edit with tagdiv composer gives us a 520 error. We just cant access the composer.
Everything in the system status panel is green.
When we try to access the tagdiv composer from here (pic attached: https://prnt.sc/llfokc) – it gives a 520 error (since we are now using cloudflare CDN) (pic attached: http://prntscr.com/llfqox)
Astonishingly, we moved the website to hostgator web host and there we were able to access the tagdiv composer with ease, but once we are back to godaddy it is not working.
Very strange for us.
I recently had a problem with a plugin. After deactivating and deleting the plugin, I realized that I was now having issues with the page builder (not the tagDiv composer) and the bottom section of the page including the Newsmag sidebar was no longer showing. It shows up on posts but not on the page.
I have tried disable all plugins, reinstall the theme and WPBakery, created a new sidebar in the theme panel and switched to that but all these did not fix the issue.
Is the new Gutenberg editor considered a classic builder?
I use Visual Composer so I assume AMP will not work on my site then?
Hello, if I use tagDiv Composer for the layout and for the css, I would like to know if it resets to zero during the updates of newspaper. Is it to know if I should make a child theme or not?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
i want to customize my website using td composer but when i go to customize mode of my website i do not see td composer on wordpress toolbox
Nope, if I install the Gutenberg editor, the Tagdiv composer isn’t available anymore. So I found another work-around. It’s a bit odd but it works for me for now.
I create a page which I don’t publish. Here I compose my content with the Tagdiv composer. I close the composer, copy the code and paste it into the post. Now I have a good layout for my posts. I duplicate the post everytime I need to and change the content, the image values and download urls where necessary.
It’s workable but far from ideal so I hope you guys will make the tagdiv composer available for posts in the future.
Kind regards!
I formally had my header and footer set to be stretched so it covered full width of the screen. I now wish to narrow the screen to see inframe ad space.
I have gone into theme panels, templates, force full width, and set all settings to “No Stretch” but still the header and footer are stretched to full width of the site.
I managed to fix the blocks within TagDiv composer.
Any advice on next steps ?
The flex grids were added in theme update 9.1 – https://www.screencast.com/t/sdIGSqr3m
Changelog can be seen here, at the bottom of the page
– https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609
If you use an older theme version than 9.1 the flex grids are not available in the tagDiv composer. Here is an update guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
The suggestion I mentioned doesn’t require code modifications of any kind, that is the page content of that particular demo homepage. I have pasted the page content here for convenience
– https://pastebin.com/DRv6KAys
After you update, copy the code in a new page – https://www.screencast.com/t/4KXNmxUB
Then edit it with the tagDiv composer, that is the homepage from the gossip demo. You can then see how the top flex grid is customized. Most demos contain customized versions of default theme elements.
Hi,
Unfortunately you can not do this with tagDiv Composer, maybe something similar with revolutionary slider
Thank you for your understanding.
I’m trying to disable all unnecessary thumbnails and I’ve reduced them down to 6, which is good. However, there is one more generated – 768×512 – which is not listed in the Theme Panel options. I have only TD Composer installed.
Is the theme generating this 768px thumbnail and, if so, what is it used for and how to disable it?
Hi,
I’ve try and is working as expected.
Create a page and add with tagdiv Composer some elements
https://www.screencast.com/t/AF5AZQfGLi
https://www.screencast.com/t/BFbqaI9za
https://www.screencast.com/t/qWmn2ewI
Add some text in mobile editor:
https://www.screencast.com/t/2F0d5r71rFiH
Update the page.
Results on mobile: https://www.screencast.com/t/nCo2WPVA
on desktop: https://www.screencast.com/t/A8wqidTE6Z2U
Also please clear all cache.
Thank you.
Hi,
The most important thing to take into account would be the theme requirements guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Usually theme or composer issues are caused by insufficient resources. Note the code that is recommended to enter in the htaccess file, mentioned at the bottom of the guide.
If needed you can contact your hosting provider to help with this task. They should be able to do it for you easily.
In case there is still a problem let us know.
Thanks
Hi,
If this is what you want to achieve https://www.screencast.com/t/IJgU1p7z , then you can do it yourself.
1. Make a page with tagDiv composer and insert the below code in text.
https://www.screencast.com/t/ttbgAwPPY9v
[vc_row][vc_column][td_block_author][/vc_column][/vc_row]
2. You need to go in theme file go in wp-content>theme>newspaper> and search for page.php open the page and set the code from here like in screenshot
https://www.screencast.com/t/8YyuuDXMUCM
Also you can add the code just in all template page ( those are the template pages ) or just in dose you want to have the author box.
In all example:
https://www.screencast.com/t/TBH7jFN17
https://www.screencast.com/t/4Q3xNwRdLyeO
https://www.screencast.com/t/BCDXIfDc0T
https://www.screencast.com/t/BCDXIfDc0T
https://www.screencast.com/t/r1b79g4G
Also if you want to do not loss this change in theme files you can make this in child theme
Hope this will help you.
Thanks.
Hello,
Please notice that the TD Composer is our page builder which is continuously updated and which is powerful. I recommend you to make a new install, on the localhost for example and test our page builder product. This plugin has the entire elements from Visual Composer which are better optimized for our theme. To make this transition, read the following guide from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
There are two page builders provided with the theme. One is the WPBakery page builder (only backend usage with our theme), the other is the tagDiv composer (frontend builder created by us specifically for this theme).
We recommend that the tagDiv composer is used to build the website. All the theme demos are built with it as well
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/select_demo/select_demo_newspaper
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
Most of the latest updates have added new features that will be possible to use only with the tagDiv composer.
The cloud library plugin will also work only with the tagDiv composer
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
Here is a guide for using it – https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
Our composer should be installed and activated automatically when the theme is installed. It can be used to edit pages from multiple places, for example in the admin bar (while viewing a page)
Be sure to only edit pages that have been created with it, not pages that contain content from a different page builder for example.
If the option to edit with the tagDiv composer is missing, please check if it is active
– https://www.screencast.com/t/1R6rU7E4
Most problems that can happen are related to insufficient or limited resources, it is important that this requirements guide is taken into account
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
In case there is a problem let us know.
Thanks
