Hello,
Please deactivate all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then test the demos again. If the problem is still there, try to reinstall the theme via ftp and make sure you copy over all files:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hi Catalln,
Sorry for the late response.
I have the latest versions of everything.
I can ignore the notice about: “Please activate your copy of Visual Composer.” but the site is not updating automatically? Is this normal?
Also do you suggest not installing any plugins other than those in the bundle whatsoever? So plugins like Yoast, Jetpack, FB pop-up plug in, cannot be used? Or are they not required?
Sorry for all the questions but my page speed has dropped significantly since I updated to Newspaper 7, so I’m trying anything to increase it.
Thanks for your help again!
On Settings > Media page of my website on which I have installed Newspaper 7 theme, it does not show correct thumbnail sizes. It shows Thumbnail size as 0x0, Medium size as 0x0 (max) and Large size as 0x0 (max). Please see the screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xmshnrziuismtq4/Screenshot%202016-05-25%2013.48.06.png?dl=0
So, the thumbails are not properly generated, when I upload a new image.
Hi,
You may have an incompatible plugin that causes this or maybe the theme update did not go as planned. The best thing to do is delete your theme and install it again fresh via ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and rename the plugins directory of wordpress. This way only the theme will be active with no plugins. Test it out and see if the dashboard displays the same. If the problem is not there anymore, you can redo the plugin folder name and see if there is a plugin that causes this issue.(also clear any cache you might have on browser, host or cdn)
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hello sfeaton,
First of all, please notice that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.1.1) because with it will come bundled the latest version of required plugins (Social Counter 4.0 and Visual Composer ->4.11.2). So, please try to delete your old of them from Plugins Area, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/iBEN025fJP and then you will install these plugins from Theme panel->Plugins Area which comes bundled with our theme, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/cBh15u5sF Try to clear all your caches and now you have updated all these plugins. Please try to do all of these tips only via FTP because this is the surest method for updating. For more information about updating, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello kassoana,
I have checked your website and I saw that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.1.1) and that’s correct. So, this type of errors seems to come from your database. It is possible that you have some problem with database settings. So, please try to check your error log from your server because there you will have to see this error and where it comes from. I recommend you to make a new install from scratch with the latest version of the theme and check the results.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your message!
Hello surfa,
I have checked your source page again and I saw that your untested plugins are still there. Please try to DISABLE all the active plugins and leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches, purge CDN files if you are using CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme to rule out the conflicting plugins. Also, please try to bring the theme to have the default state, without any additional customization to avoid these cases. Please notice that our theme has been tested and does not have this behaviour on mobile version, as you can see in our demo here -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ Please notice that our theme is very complex and has a lot of lines of code and if you are using some plugins which are not tested with our theme might appear a lot of unknown issues, like this case. So, if your problem is still there after these tips, please try to make a new install only via FTP with the latest version of the theme and check the results in the default mode.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
I just install mobile theme and i face a weird problem. Some of my post (not all) in my laptop are from the mobile theme. Check this: http://www.dinfo.gr/?p=125121
How can i fix it?
Hello Donmartini,
Please try to do a fresh install via FTP because this is the surest method, in this case, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Also, please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.1.1) and also, the latest version of the plugins, like ->Visula Composer 4.11.2 and Social Counter 4.0. Try to clear all your caches and test it again. Also, if you problem is still there after this advice, please try to make a new install from scratch and check the results there.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
The end result is the same in both cases, it;s just the fact that the wordpress method relies on WP to unpack the archive and place the content in the themes folder. If you chose the ftp method you will have to access your files and place the newspaper folder (unzipped) inside the themes folder on your site. Generally the ftp method is safer as it does not rely on other software to install the files.
You can follow these guides to install the theme:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Thank you!
Hello OllieConnolly,
Please try to make a new install from scratch with the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.1.1) via FTP and check how the theme is working, without any customization (default state). Probably you may have some problems with your database which create these errors.
Please try this advice and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello admindoxa,
Please notice that our Big Grid element has been designed to be responsive, as you can see in our demo preview, here -> http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/ You can shrink the browser and you will see that the Big Grid is responsive one. Also, please notice that if you are using some untested plugins in your theme, these might interact with the theme’s code and might appear a lot of unknown issues. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Try to bring the theme to the default state and check the results.
If your problem is still there after these tips, please provide your website URL so I can inspect it closer your Big Grid element and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi, Mobile Search Shows Another Language in addition to main languaje at “No results”.
I use spanish languaje and another appears upside:

I have installed mobile plugin.
The second problem is in mobile theme, where the “Sign in | Join” button is not translated. I checked the translation in Theme Panel and it’s ok in Spanish. I also clear all the cache… but nothing…

Hi Catalin,
I installed it on a subdomain and it works fine. It seems to be geting into trouble only on my main domain with customisation. I would really appreciate it if you could guide me on how I could instal it in the default state without any customisations. Also, is it possible to save a copy of the customisations so that i could use later if i regret.
I installed the template and it Work But When I change the parameters to the template and I save the parameters Who shows recording runs indefinitely .

Hi,
On mobile devices it is possible to “scroll” to the right and a large white area appears on the right side. I would guess this is due to some hidden content outside the normal page border and the theme allows the user to scroll to the right because of this. I hope this can be fixed?
(I believe it has been like this since first installation, no particular changes to code or files has been done).

I have updated the theme and re-installed social counter plugin, it is still showing “0” followers.
I have sent you login details to your email address!

Hi all,
Where do I find the exact files that were updated? I’m having a few problems with my ftp server so I need to only update the files that have been changed…or is Newspaper 7 a completely fresh install?
Thanks,
Rita L
I’m also getting this error when I look at the dev tools in Chrome:
Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token ILLEGAL
/wp-admin/load-scripts.php?c=1&load%5B%5D=hoverIntent,common,admin-bar,thickbox,jquery-ui-tabs,mediaelement,wp-mediaelement,wp-ajax-response,jquery-color,wp-lists,quickta&load%5B%5D=gs,jquery-query,admin-comments,dashboard,underscore,customize-base,customize-loader,plugin-install,shortcode,media-upload,svg-pa&load%5B%5D=inter,heartbeat,wp-auth-check,wp-a11y,wplink,jquery-ui-position,jquery-ui-menu,jquery-ui-autocomplete&ver=4.5.2
Hoping I can get some help troubleshooting and fixing this issue. I installed Newspaper version 7.1.1 and shortly after I noticed the WordPress dashboard was no longer loading correctly. It basically isn’t loading JS and CSS properly any more.
Screenshot: https://gyazo.com/7e11f1966ce4272e8dadf4b7b6d6658b
This only happens if I have Newspaper active. If I switch the theme to 2015, the dashboard displays correctly.
I have tried clearing my cache, rolling back to earlier versions of the theme, disabling ALL plugins, and disabling PageSpeed. None of these fixed the issue.
However, if I add define('SCRIPT_DEBUG', true); to my wp-config, the dashboard will display correctly.
Any ideas on what is wrong and how I can fix this issue?
I have some problems after installed the new theme.
1. After install demo I cannot uninstall it.
2. Please see the pictures
3. I am really tired of these troubles please help!
And this is what I get while installing the new updated version. It was a clean upload..
Warning: Error while sending QUERY packet. PID=314491 in /home/mostwa7/public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1813
Any pointers why I am getting this?
