Hi @Radu yes, because I didn’t deinstall 3.3 in the first place. I’m new to WP so to try and avoid screwing everything up X-) I installed 3.8 under a modified theme name and that means I can switch between the two at the moment.

I did try FTP first but my Filezilla display is different to the instructional video…I will have another go.

Did you went and active the plugin after updating your files,because i ran in the same problem you have now at first and it was because the plugin need turning on after the JS Composure installs…

I had to install update via FTP, and then manually install the VisualComposer.

The best way to upgrade is found on the ThemeForest changelog for the theme.

The Header file is working fine, just not loading the images.

Currently my images folder is in the same directory as my WP install… http://demo.demofinland.org/images/…still can’t get to it. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Have tried absolute and relative paths.

Same issue here.

The fact that it works sporadically, makes me think that the account that the plug-in uses is being throttled/limited – the standard REST API has a 350 requests per hour limit.

Is the plug-in using the same twitter oauth account for each install? If not, how is that working? I don’t have time to dive into the plug-in code right now, but I will over the weekend…

When I click on, for example: “Clone text block” icon, the Console throws this error:

ReferenceError: vcvc_guid is not defined

That leads to line 232 of composer-view.js:

model_clone = Shortcodes.create({shortcode:model.get(‘shortcode’), id:vcvc_guid(), parent_id:parent_id, order:new_order, cloned:true, cloned_from:model.toJSON(), params:_.extend({}, model.get(‘params’))});

Googling for a similar error, I found it on comments on ThemeForest, http://themeforest.net/item/uberstore-nextlevel-multipurpose-theme/7009376/comments where the Visual Composer is installed along with another theme, but the same error and the Clone issue.

A good option could be in your theme setting to use yoast breadcrumbs if this plugins is installed.

Radu, thanks for your replies and the support.

I may be missing something, because I can’t make Visual Composer to work.
This is what I have done:

• Updated WP to 3.9.1,
• Then Updated The Newspaper Theme to 3.8.1
• Then deactivate and uninstall the Visual Composer, and replace it with the one included in the ZIP file. Installed and active.
• Checked if the WPbakery folder was still in the Server – nothing – only the new one.

When I start a new page or modify an existing one… I never get the Visual Composer button.

Am I missing something obvious?

Does this mean I should delete the plugin then when WP says the plugin is missing I upload from the new theme folder?

Having the same issue just updated theme and installed the VC via the plugin and VC has vanished? Homepage is now broken?
