Hi,
That’s unusual, the category name should be displayed there. If you select a different category template is the name displayed? Did you install a demo? Are you using any custom CSS or made modifications to theme files (mainly category templates)?
Let me know.
Thanks
Hi,
You should remove the previous theme install, according to Envato license terms a theme license can be used for one end product (website)
Hi, I installed the default demo. How can I make the first article in each category appear on the homepage, and not the articles in chronological order?
Hi,
All demos contain custom design and will import theme panel settings when installed. The Gadgets demo contains a customized version of header style 5. You can see how that header style looks by default here
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-styles/
That black hover color is coming from the demo. It is predefined in the demo stylesheet
– https://www.screencast.com/t/cAANl3sO53
So no theme panel setting will replace it. At the time the demo was created there were’t many theme panel color settings, so this was made with CSS in the demo stylesheet.
A solution would be to remove the customization the demo adds for the header elements. Then the theme panel colors will apply
– https://www.screencast.com/t/I5cip7b3HmMY
That would be the most recommended method to do this if you ant to keep using header style 5 with your own colors. Or you could change the header style, the customization of the demo applies only for style 5.
Thanks
Hi,
Indeed it seems all the images are loaded but not visible. Did you install a plugin before this happened? or maybe entered some code in the theme panel, or theme files? There are a few errors in the website, usually these are caused by plugins, ad codes, custom codes etc.
Deactivate all plugins as a quick test, leave only theme plugins active. Then clear your cache and check if the problem is solved.
Also temporarily remove any code entered in the theme panel. Check again. These suggestions should solve the problem. Let us know what you find.
Thanks
I have since wiped the entire slate clean, including re-installing WP and downloading another copy of the theme to use on the site and it appears that’s fixed the issue.
After reading through the forums I’ve used the process to drag / drop a new element to delete it and it’s still there. I’ve checked all my settings in WP as previously advised and it’s still there.
I’ve also sent a note off to the support team because I have other issues I’ve not been able to resolve.
One thought… I installed one of your demo theme’s thinking it would help get me started :(( are they built using tagdiv or the previous composer? I saw in your announcement from a year ago that a conversion was needed.
Could it be something that dull causing my issues?
Help!
Hi, i’m trying to translate my CHILD THEME so i installed Loco Translate plugin.
The problem is that, even if i translate the language files in the child theme, my blog still see the PARENT theme files! What shoud i do?
Perfect, that worked. Thank you.
So, a fix to consider: the active, out-of-the-box blog page template (M15) must be boxed/selected/marked after installing the theme. This lack was the origin of my problem, because I couldn’t know which template to choose in the categories to look the same as the blog page.
Thanks again, Simion.
I recently updated wordpress on my site to version 4.9.7 then I install the theme and plugins to the latest version. Then later this day I want to edit my homepage(which i didn’t touch for quite some time) the backend editor of both tagdiv and wpbakery composer disappear. I not sure if updating wordpress causes this problem or not. Try reinstalling both theme and plugins but no luck! Now I cant edit my home page. Please help!
Mysite: chiangmainews.co.th
Recently I purchased Newspaper theme and installed default demo with content. But later on I notice that I cant find out where to modify the last section (Latest Article) at the bottom of the page. I have tried out all the possible setting in Appearance > Widget and “Edit with TD Composer” but still no lucks.
Could you please point out where should I access to make changes for the last section? Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Infinite scrolling seems to work now, despite those errors. Since there are no such errors in a default theme install, something is creating them in your case.
– Deactivate all your plugins, leave only theme plugins active. If you have a cache plugin clear the cache and deactivate that as well.
– Temporarily remove all the code you entered in the theme panel (custom code, ads etc), theme files or child theme.
This should solve the problem. If it does, begin reactivating plugins and reading code, while checking for the errors.
Thanks
I suggest you also contact your hosting provider, ask them to have a look if possible. Installing plugins should not provide server errors. maybe they can identify why that is happening. I believe insufficient WP memory could cause such problems.
Hi,
What exactly do you mean by that? You could try to add that Pixel code as mentioned here
– https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-install-facebook-remarketingretargeting-pixel-in-wordpress/
Try with a plugin, or access the theme files with the WordPress editor and add them manually.
Thanks
Hi,
Installing a demo will import it’s specific theme panel settings, custom design etc. Unless you made an export of the theme panel settings or a general website backup, there would be no way to return the previous settings
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/
Glad you could sort it out in the end.
Hi,
1. Don’t know about that, we made no tests with that plugin. Maybe check with the plugin authors if that happens only with that specific plugin.
We also provide an AMP plugin in the theme package, it is a simple plugin offering basic AMP functionality. In the future it will receive more features
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-amp-plugin-tutorial/
2. Then there is a general problem if you can’t install any plugin. Check with your hosting provider and ask them to take a look. Also check the theme requirements guide and make sure there are sufficient resources
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
3. We provide a mobile theme plugin, which should improve the mobile performance. More about that here, if you would consider to use it
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Of course speed is influenced by many other factors, website optimization takes a lot of work.
Thanks
Hi,
The best way would be to simply install the demo
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
This will import theme panel settings and custom design specific to the demo. If you install it with demo content, the homepage will be provided.
If you do not want to install the demo, you could try to re-create. We have no guide for that at the moment however. These would be some similar topics
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/getting-started-from-demo-best-practises/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/wish-about-the-demo/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/is-it-possible-to-change-the-website-demo-from-one-to-another/
If you have any problems or this is not what you meant, please provide some more details about what exactly is not working or if you are not sure of something, and I will help you.
Thanks
Hi,
I would have no idea how that could be done. If you are importing the posts and also the images on your new install maybe, then wouldn’t they function same as before in the post content, with the same plugin?
Hello fgter,
We recommend making a full backup to your database before making any changes to your website. For more information for installing the theme, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello stevemanes,
The Facebook sharing should works as expected if the theme has been correctly installed via FTP way. For social sharing and general SEO, we recommend the Yoast SEO plugin. Install and activate the Open Graph data
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/facebook-share/
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
If that message is displayed, then maybe you have not update the mobile theme plugin. Delete it and install it from the latest theme package, then one you have downloaded
– https://www.screencast.com/t/YyVih6oHej
Then there would be no more problem. After each theme updates please remember to update the plugins as well. Only the tagDiv composer and social counter should update automatically.
Thanks
Hello SERGEY ARMISHEV,
Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme installed via FTP way, clear all the caches and check the results. If the problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further investigate it closer to your setup page.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks.
I try to install and configure AdSense Invalid Click Protector (AICP)but, still not working. Anyone have idea??
The theme is now working but the search is not, it shows a 500 error.
Also when i try to install a new plugin it gives error 500, then i have to manually disable every plugin and start again.
