- TutorialsDefault Block Settings Guide
Hi,
The first thing to check would be the theme requirements, system status section
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
It is imperative that the parameters mentioned in the guide are configured properly. Insufficient resources can cause many issues with the theme or the plugins, if needed ask your hosting provider to increase them as specified.
If there is no need for modifications in that matter, in some cases the solutions from these topics worked for blank pages and other composer problems, you could give them a try if possible
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/gray-page-tagdiv/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/javascript-error-td-composer-wont-load/
Additionally try deactivating all plugins as a quick test, leave only theme plugins active. Check if this has any effect.
Let us know the results after trying these suggestions. Be sure to use the tagDiv composer on pages that were created with it only. All the elements in the page have to be added through it.
Thanks
Hi,
If you keep replying in your own topic it will only delay our answer unfortunately. The topics will be answered by oldest to newest.
Issues with the composer can be caused by many factors. The most common cause is simply insufficient resources. As you install more plugins the WP memory will be depleted and this will cause problems with the theme and plugins.
Please check the theme requirements guide carefully
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-requirements-for-newsmag/
The theme has a system status panel you can check to see if everything is set properly. This would be the first step to try and fix the problem. If needed contact the hosting provider again and ask them to increase them according to the guide.
The next possible cause would be plugins. Deactivate them all except the theme plugins. Check if this has any effect. Also test on a new page.
If there is still a problem after doing this, we could take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin access, FTP and cPanel as well if possible. Include a link to this topic in the email.
Thanks
Hi,
Now that is unusual, so the newsletter settings are not appearing for you
– https://www.screencast.com/t/Y9dI6w8Lpf
There are a few things you can check. First would be to check in a different browser. Next would be to test with no plugins active, only theme plugins.
Also check the theme system status
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If you made modifications to the theme files or added code in them, try to temporarily remove them and check if this has any effect. Let us know.
Thanks
Hi,
Please check if the same error is displayed when trying to edit a different page or a new page. It usually is displayed when there is content in the page that was not added with the tagDiv composer. By trying on a new page, we can see if that is the case.
Also if you use an older version of the Yoast SEO plugin, there was a setting know to cause problems
– https://www.screencast.com/t/n8Cc35EofLh
Please check as well the theme system status, if there are sufficient resources
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If needed, ask your hosting provider to increase these parameters to the recommended values.
Let us know.
Thanks
Hi,
You can provide us any admin account you have or create a testing admin user. This is required for us to investigate. Send this information by email only, do not share it on the forum.
Regarding the issue with the composer, the first thing to check would be the theme requirements, system status section
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
It is imperative that the parameters mentioned in the guide are configured properly. Insufficient resources can cause many issues with the theme, the plugins or other issues. If needed ask your hosting provider to increase them as specified.
Does the composer work if you create a new page and use it? What exactly happens when it is not working? Is it fixed if you deactivate all plugins except theme plugins?
In some cases the solutions from these topics worked for tagDiv composer problems, you could give them a try if possible
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/gray-page-tagdiv/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/javascript-error-td-composer-wont-load/
Let us know the results.
Thanks
Hi,
Maybe you are trying to edit pages that were not initially built with the tagDiv composer, or contain content that was not added through it. Check if the same thing happens on a new page when you edit it with the composer.
There was another circumstance when this happened, related to an older version of the Yoast SEO plugin if you use it. This setting in the plugin
– https://www.screencast.com/t/n8Cc35EofLh
Also be sure to check the theme system status panel
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Check if there are sufficient resources allocated. If needed ask your hosting provider to increase them.
Let us know the results.
Thanks
Hi,
In some cases when 500 messages are displayed it is caused by low WP memory. The minimum recommended value would be 96M but it should be as high as possible. Many users have resolved similar issues by increasing the memory
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Gradually he memory is depleted, as plugins will consume most of it. That could be why there is no problem with WPBakery disabled, and a problem with it enabled.
@EddyCool Then you should contact your hosting provider as well, let them know what is happening.
The theme requirements are mentioned here, they could take a look at them as well
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
4. Maybe I am misunderstanding the problem. So you are inserting images in the post content, then publish the post. Are the images visible when you enter them in the post content? From what I can see that post contains no images, none that I checked have. They also do not have featured images, so no thumbnails will be created
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image-or-video/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
The latest version of the theme supports PHP versions up to 7.2 so this would not be a problem. If you get the detect encoding error, your PHP web server is lacking support for the function: mb_detect_encoding.
Please ask the host if this can be enabled.
5. Does the admin bar show if you use a default WordPress theme? Test if possible. The theme does not have a setting for disabling the admin bar, so it would only be affected by the WordPress setting I mentioned.
In the footer you can choose one of the available templates, or use a footer page
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
Widgets you enter in the footer sections will be displayed below the predefined ones (if you use a style that has them) or you can choose an empty template and display them only. They should appear once you enter them. I see that you seem to be using footer style 1, so the additional widgets you enter here will be shown below
– https://www.screencast.com/t/800M0njCv
So basically the theme and theme plugins should work if the requirements mentioned in my previous reply are met. Check them carefully. However most issues that happen are related to server configurations, limitations etc.
The composer issues were fixed in some cases with these solutions
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/gray-page-tagdiv/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/javascript-error-td-composer-wont-load/
Let us know the results.
Hi there, tagDiv boys and girls !
And first of all, I’d like to say that it’s been two years now since my first use of the Newspaper theme, and everything is working like a charm so far.
I think it’s important to recognize the highly qualitative and greatly satisfying job when it exists, and thank the people behind the scene who working hard to reach that level of requirements.
So, thank you. 🙂
I’m reaching you today for something that looks simple said like that, but actually isn’t (I guess like most requests people are asking) :
– In fact, I’d like my Homepage post block on my homepage to be fully clickable (like the Big Grid Full 1).
It doesn’t matter if the Homepage post block becomes clickable everywhere else on my website, since I can use the css pointer-events trick to bypass it.
I guess it’s “just” an html copy-paste matter, but what to copy and where to past is my question.
– Lastly, how can I make the Big Grid Full blocks go true fullwidth ? I didn’t find any way in hell to do so yet.
Even with the force content stretching function of WPBakery (I know I should use tagDiv composer, but hey, old habits die hard), every blocks are boxed.
By the way, I use the same template (almost) everywhere : td-post-template-8-box. Is there a causality link ?
Well, I think it’s enough for the day.
Thank you very much in advance for your feedback, and thanks again for everything. 🙂
Hi,
There could be problems if you use both composers at the same time, this is highly not recommended. Use one only and deactivate the other. It can cause problems with the pages.
Also I don’t know how exactly you edit posts with the tagDiv composer, it can only be used for pages at the moment.
However both composers should appear as an option to edit pages
– https://www.screencast.com/t/kvA3rfMFXTHl
Please check the theme system status parameters
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Insufficient resources can cause problems.
Thanks
Hi,
So when the tagDiv composer plugin is active you cannot access you post pages. Now that is unusual. From what I know that could be caused by security plugins configurations, or server security or firewall, such as mentioned here
– http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-403-forbidden-error-in-wordpress/
The topic mentions other possible causes, like other plugins.
Check with your hosting as well, ask them to check error logs, and what exactly happens when you activate the composer plugin causing problems accessing pages on the website. Let us know the results.
Also check the theme requirements, check the theme system status panel
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Hi,
1. The most recommended method would be by FTP
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
There could be a number of reasons why WordPress displays that message, even insufficient max upload size
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
2. Please check the theme requirements mentioned in the guide provided above. Those are the number one cause for this to happen, insufficient resources. If needed ask your hosting provider to increase those parameters.
3. There will be 3 columns with the widgets, but below the Instagram section
– https://www.screencast.com/t/PBLMQPbQ
If you use footer template 1 this should have predefined widgets to display
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
In your case it seems those default widgets are not displayed. Try changing the footer template and check if it displays properly. Make sure the footer is enabled
– https://www.screencast.com/t/o1GfZHbMdfBG
4. That could be related to a plugin conflict or code entered in the theme panel. Those are the most common causes for image problems.
If you check on the bottom of the post the related articles/more from author section is also not working properly, the header search function is also not working.
Try to temporarily deactivate all non-theme plugins, check if this solves the problem. Let us know.
5. The admin bar is not controlled by the theme. Maybe you removed it by code previously or it is not enabled in your WordPress user profile settings
– https://www.screencast.com/t/smzaNr1InM
Thanks
Hi,
Maybe the demo installation was not completed or there was a problem. Note that if you install a demo without content the homepage will not be provided. Only theme panel settings and custom design will be imported
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
If you install it with content, the homepage will be imported and set automatically. Then you can customize it as you wish.
So currently there is no demo installed, what exactly happens when you install the demo you want? Are there errors displayed?
Check the theme system status as well
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Insufficient resources can cause problems using the theme properly. Let us know.
Thanks
Hi,
Demos can be installed without content as well
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
This will only import theme panel settings and demo design, a demo homepage will not be included in this case. You can build a homepage with the tagDiv composer
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/
But note that the demo custom design will only apply in the homepage if the same elements are used. Same grids, blocks etc as the demo. Changing themes would require testing, to ensure everything is set properly and works fully.
It is recommended to place the website in maintenance mode when doing this, or creating local clones of the live website and begin there by applying the new theme and testing.
The theme requirement would be these

Theme live demo here, check the Features menu item

Hello trailblazer,
Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized. Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ you can increase the page speed loading and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because the speed optimization services are not covered by our support policy, as you can read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/ Check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ regarding on dedicated server to fit our requirements.
Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option to minify the style.css file and we cannot recommend any plugins with this functionality because is not tested with our theme. For minifying this file, we are using CloudFlare for our demo and works fine. If you want to read other views from our users, please check this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/
One of our top members here on the forum wrote his own optimization tutorial here:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tutorial-chriss-custom-optimizations-for-functions-php-etc/ and here -> https://www.infophilic.com/get-almost-100-pagespeed-newspaper-theme/
Basically, these are the theme requirements
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thanks for your understanding!
I use for testing even an older version of XAMPP with PHP 5.5.19, with these recommended parameters
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Tried the theme panel in Chrome and also Firefox (latest browser versions) there are nor problems with it. It would be unusual that the problem is only happening in Chrome. There was an issue caused by Chrome with the tagDiv composer, a flickering while editing the page. This was fixed however in the latest theme version of the tagDiv composer.
Try clearing the browser cache, check if that has any effect. If it does not, check if there are any errors in the browser inspector console when accessing the ads section
– https://www.screencast.com/t/YuqYuEdruyx1
Hi,
I have not seen that error before, searching online does not provide a decent solution as well. You could try the basics, deactivate all other plugins except theme plugins, remove theme modifications or code in the theme panel, clear caching, check with different browsers, check system status panel
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Try contacting the hosting provider as well, maybe they might have an idea. Let us know what you find.
Hi,
First please check the theme system status, check if there are enough resources
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If needed ask your hosting provider to increase the parameters mentioned in the guide.
After this please try deactivating all your plugins as a quick test, leave only theme plugins active. Check if this has any effect.
If there is still a problem after trying this, send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information as well as FTP and cPanel if possible. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Hi,
Now that is unusual, I have not seen this before. Check if this happens when editing a newly created page. Check the theme system status panel as well

Check if there are errors in the browser inspector console while opening and editing pages with the tagDiv composer

Hi,
Maybe the hosting provider can specify what exactly from the theme is causing these problems. Basically the theme requirements are these
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If those are set properly then something else could be the cause. Check if the same happen if you test with only theme plugins active, maybe a plugin is o blame.
On posts I see there is a 404 on a image that is not found, that could also delay the loading of the website.
Hello alecaus,
Check if the Speed Booster is enabled in System Status. It can be disabled if you are using some untested plugins which are not tested with it. Otherwise, please check the following topic from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/security-and-backup-always-incompatible-with-speed-booster/

Hi,
Our theme would not comply with those requirements, such as for example themes that are created with this is mind and dedicated to the accessibility profile.
There are no plans that I am aware of currently to make any changes in the theme in this matter.
If you plan to create a website for this purpose, instead of modifying a theme that may not be suited for this task, maybe look for a theme that has settings and options that can be used for accessibility.
That would be much easier since there will be no need for modifications to be made, and you can focus only on the special content.
If you choose to request a refund we will approve it, and you can search for a more specialized theme that is already built with this criteria in mind.
Thanks
Hi,
The featured image can be bigger, for example the live theme demos use in some cases much bigger image sizes
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/
This will however not have an impact, these original images will not be loaded in their full size on the website. Only thumbnails created from them will be shown
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Of course images can be further optimized. If you do not set featured images the modules in block and grids will display a default placeholder thumb. Of course your hosting plan has be ready for increased content and traffic

Suggestions for website speed are many, in this forum and also online

Hi,
Something must be wrong, when you delete an element first a confirmation window should appear and as soon as you accept it will be removed
– https://www.screencast.com/t/1CagwPbA
Entire rows can be removed by dragging them to the right corner.
I would suggest that you first check the theme system status panel
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If necessary ask your hosting provider to increase the allocated resources, according to the guide. Then check if the composer works properly.
If there is still a problem, please deactivate all plugins except theme plugins, check if this has any effect. Also test with a different browser to see if the same things happens.
Let us know the results.
