The weather changes were not a decision on our part, they have modified the implementation of the widget. We simply adapted to the said implementation (it could have also been removed entirely from the theme).

From what I can see in the screenshots, some of the composer sections are not displayed properly, for example the row layout options.

In some cases that has happened because of plugins. You could try as a quick test to deactivate them all, leave only theme plugins active. Check if this solves the issue.

The theme and theme plugins should work properly if the basic requirements are met. The newly released update now also supports PHP 7.2. Previously such PHP versions were causing issues if used with the theme.

Hi,

Facebook will use the post featured image when sharing a post, given you have installed the Yoast SEO plugin
https://forum.tagdiv.com/facebook-share/
This would be the recommended plugin to use for SEO purposes. Only through it you can control and customize the post sharing. The theme does not have any settings in the matter. The plugin has options to set an image for each post if needed
https://yoast.com/social-media-optimization-with-yoast-seo/
https://kb.yoast.com/kb/why-doesnt-facebook-display-an-image/
Note the Facebook general requirements for images as well

Hi,

These would be the requirements for WordPress
https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/
As long as WordPress is installed and running there would be no problem using a theme on a Windows based server. You could go ahead and install the theme there and test.

Thanks

FYI, I use the latest version of WP from docker
https://hub.docker.com/_/wordpress/
WordPress v.4.9.4
PHP: 7.2.0

Problem exactly with latest version PHP 7.2.0 and upper
because in version 7.2.0+ function create_function() was deprecated.

My project WIP, but I think Support team has to fix it ASAP!
Because if you check https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/
You can find best server configuration:

PHP 7.2 or greater
MySQL 5.6 or greater OR MariaDB 10.0 or greater
Nginx or Apache with mod_rewrite module
HTTPS support

Hi,

Indeed the website is not very fast, it takes a long time to be fully loaded. Also the counter is not working properly and there are errors on the website
https://www.screencast.com/t/qNZaY37Qy

Make sure the theme requirements are met
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Ask your hosting provider to increase the allocated resources if needed, according to the guide.

Then try these suggestions. Deactivate all plugins except theme plugins, clear all caching. Remove custom code added in theme panel or theme files. Make sure you are configuring the counter like mentioned in this guide
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/

Website speed optimization has to be made by you, installing the theme will not make the website blazing fast by default. It depends on many factors. There are guides provided by our users and us in order to achieve very good results. Please take a look

Hello arnaumoreno,

Please try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP with the latest version of it and check the results. Also, check the theme requirements from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ to be the same with our documentation, remove all of the untested plugins if you are using something like this, clear all the caches and check the results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

You could contact the hosting provider, have them check the logs. They might be able to identify what exactly is causing the overloading issue. The theme would function properly if the requirements are met
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Also try to use the latest theme version and WordPress version.

Thanks

Hello liberoarbitrio,

Most likely, you should update the theme via FTP way because this is the surest method in this case, according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ After theme update, check the theme requirements from here ->https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ Also, check the system status parameters to be increased according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the message!

Hello,

did you watch Requirements for Newspaper ==> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/

Oh, this is too bad. I have exactly the same requirements: implementing a category-specific fallback featured-image for the posts where it is not added. While I was able to make the fallback featured image in the post view by following the instructions here, I’m struggling to have them displayed in the blocks and modules.

I have made changes to loop-single.php and this is what it looks like:

<?php if ( has_post_thumbnail() ) : ?>

<div class="entry-thumbnail">
"><?php echo $td_mod_single->get_image(td_global::$load_featured_img_from_template); ?>
</div>

<?php else :
$category = get_the_category();
?>
<div class="entry-thumbnail">
">/wp-content/uploads/category-images/<?php echo $category[0]->category_nicename ; ?>-741x486.jpg" alt="<?php the_title(); ?>" />
</div>

<?php endif; ?>

Is there no piece of code I can write somewhere that will replicate this result in modules?

Thanking you.

Those parameters are essential in the theme and theme plugins functionality. They are not something specific to this theme, such requirements are needed in general.

If the hosting provider cannot help you with this requirement, then the theme and plugins may not work properly. Usually the hosting makes these modifications if needed, most have recommended methods.

We could provide a refund if the theme cannot be used by you. The theme has requirements that have to be met in order to work at it’s best. The ones mentioned above and these ones

Thank you!

Hi,

If you followed the instructions given by the code providers, I don’t know what advice to give you. Maybe there are more requirements, or a waiting period.
For example, I believe Adsense requires a code to be entered in the header.php file between the head tags, for website verification.

Thanks

Hello Francisco,

Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized. Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ you can increase the page speed loading and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because the speed optimization services are not covered by our support policy, as you can read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/ Check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ regarding on dedicated server to fit our requirements.

Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option to minify the style.css file and we cannot recommend any plugins with this functionality because is not tested with our theme. For minifying this file, we are using CloudFlare for our demo and works fine. If you want to read other views from our users, please check this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/

Hi,

Please note that there are logo requirements, depending on header style used
https://forum.tagdiv.com/logo-favicon/
An exception are header styles 9, 10 and 11 there is no limitation there. Using logo sizes as mentioned will produce the best results.
Also with the header style you are using the ad size would be 728×90 for best results, that is the allocated space for the header ad. The ad you are using is much larger
https://www.screencast.com/t/bXFuhDnorR
I could give you a code to increase the minimum size according to your header ad, the result is here
https://www.screencast.com/t/8TIXdoc9

.td-header-style-1 .td-header-rec-wrap {
min-height: 269px;
}

Thanks

Hi,

The theme will work properly given these requirements
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Also these recommended values for the server and WordPress
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Test with no plugins active except theme plugins, remove theme modifications, deactivate child theme if used. Additionally try a theme reinstall by FTP
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Note that the theme is tested with PHP versions up to 7.1 higher versions may cause issues.

Thanks

Hi,

Now that is unusual, posts disappearing. Posts are saved in the database, this could be caused by instability in the database of some kind. You could check with your host, have them take a look at the logs, or check for errors, mention what is happening in detail.
The theme requirements are these, the theme will not cause actual posts to disappear from WordPress once published

Hi,

The column content is a multi-purpose element, added when the multi-purpose plugin is active along with the tagDiv composer. Check if the plugin is active in order to be able to use the many available multi-purpose items.
The solution Bogdan provided is based on the column content element
https://www.screencast.com/t/As8rsjDhxmY
This is many options for styling, use them to style it as needed. The shortcode you mention would be a call to action element, tagDiv composer also has a similar item
https://www.screencast.com/t/cMMF3NQo
So you could use that element, it all depends on your requirements. These multi-purpose elements have many design options and possibilities, they may not be exactly similar to Visual composer items, they are not meant to.

Hello SERGEY ARMISHEV,

I suggest you make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way to another sub-domain for testing only with required plugins which come bundled with the theme packet. Before this, check the theme’s requirements from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-requirements-for-newsmag/ to be according to this useful guide. Check the system status parameters to be increased like this -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/

Hi,

The form seems to display at the moment from what I can see
https://www.screencast.com/t/1Uaok9geZ
I see no problem with it. You could check this tutorial about configuring the form further
https://cool-tricks.net/contact-form-7-configuration/
Check the theme system status as well
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
If needed ask your hosting provider to increase the value of those server and WordPress parameters.
The theme requirements are mentioned here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
In these circumstances the theme and theme plugins should work properly.

Thanks

Hi,

The theme requirements are mentioned here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Also these server and WordPress parameters should be according to the guide
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
The most recommended install method is by FTP
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Either than these there would be no other requirements. The theme and theme plugins should work properly. As described here the 505 error would be related to the server
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_HTTP_status_codes
You could check similar topics in the WordPress forum if the problem is still present

Hello Bharat Deo Sharma,

I suggest you make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way to another sub-domain for testing, clear all the caches and check the results. Also, make sure that you are using the latest version of the theme if you want to achieve better theme’s results. Also, check the PHP version for your dedicated server to be according to the following documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
If the recommendation was to try on a new install of WordPress, maybe the hosting provider has such a service to offer. Or you could do it, some guides here
