Hello,
I was currently checking my site and faced the problem, that there are pretty many duplicated things.
The most problematic are URLs with the following ‘endings’ appearing from nowhere:
– ?filter_by=featured/
– ?filter_by=popular/
– ?filter_by=review_high/
– ?filter_by=random_posts/
– ?filter_by=popular7/
While writing this message I realised that recently have implemented new view of the home page, where I used this filters. But is there any way to hide this things to avoid duplication?

I have recently installed the newspaper theme and I have a problem creating pages. Every time I create a page is blank if you viewed Preview when editing. If you want to eventually access it once published, also appears blank. Even when installing the demo theme the server stayed locked and I had to delete all created pages. Creating post don’t appears to have the same problem.
Anyone know what could the problem be?

Also when I hide the author box, the error also comes up:

I had no problem with my previous theme but all my posts lose the review rating on Google now.
Media upload is managed by user roles and WordPress, not the theme. “Contributors” don’t have access to upload files unless you edit the user roles functions in WordPress — not the theme.
You may wish to spend some time reviewing all the docs on how WordPress works.

It’s a little quirky, but the nice thing is you can experiment, hit preview, go “nah” than go back and try something else. Pretty cool.
HI, I have ads running from the custom box and have them pointed at the sidebar. They don’t seem to be displaying. SOmetimes they do and other times they swicth off and on some pages they work.

I think the docs do show how to create a layout with visual composer and there are some preset styles if you start with “blank” page when creating page (choose “blank” page on right side).
Easy to play with without public seeing anything, since you can set up a working home page then create new blank page, test new layouts by using preview until you get what you want, or at least part way.
Of course there are also various tutorials online for using visual composer since it’s used by hundreds of theme developers.
I just find some error messages from nginx and mod_pagespeed.
The error messages seems related to the theme but I am not sure about that.
These errors do not affect the output, I post this topic just for reference only.

I wanted to give you a heads up. First of all, I successfully managed to implement the author box into my default sidebar. So that one is solved.
However, I do have new questions now 🙂 Sorry to bother you with this, I already invested hours into finding the solution myself, but failed sadly. So here we go:
1) Concerning my HOMEPAGE ONLY (http://misskay.tv/): How can I manage to move the sidebar up? I want it to start at the top right,next to the big slider. See screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/rv0Mu2lg I just want to change it for the page “Homepage”. I am fine with how my default sidebar is set for all remaining pages.
2) Concerning the Category Block Modules on my Homepage: How can I manage that you can slide through them, just like you can slide through the big slider? See Screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/jsMhOiAWioR
3) Concerning the Category Block Modules on my homepage: How can I make sure that only the most recent 6 posts are being displayed? I want to create a seperate page which shows all my posts ever written (similar to an archive) and I do know how to do that. But I also want to ensure that the block modules only display the most current ones.

I have one request for change; and will understand if not doable.
On our install, we have “use featured images” turned off since we have existing posts with the old-school method of posting the images into top of the story, and in oooold stories the smaller images are flush right into the post.
For *new* content with this theme, we found that using Style 2 works great, as this was also what we did with the Newspaper theme.
However (and yes, I know this is different theme), in Newspaper, I could choose to use Style 4 and 5 and the post would grab from featured image since it obviously would not pull from image in post. However in my install, this doesn’t work. I simply get solid box with gradient, and no image at all. It works as expected with style 6, but not style 4 or 5.
Any chance of a fix or hack for this as we have some stories where for a movie review or something a “big” giant photo works great, where for a book review with book jacket or author photo it does not.
Anyway, hate to do the “it works on newspaper but not on newsmag” kind of feedback, since NOT THE SAME THEME (!) 🙂 but there you are.
I am sending this as personal note to Radu by email, but also posting here just in case anybody else runs into this topic.
I have a problem with the star rating. It is showing correctly when the overall score is 3.5 but when the score is 3.8, it is showing just 3 stars. For example: http://www.techwalls.com/outdoor-technology-privates-wireless-headphone-review/

Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to add a customized facebook like button. It’ll slow down the site cause of the <iframe> and hurt the user experience.
I’ll take a look at Facebook’s APIs sometime soon though.

The theme normally shows all the “sub categories” for a master category, as found in the demo; that is normal:

To *also* have a “drop down” menu, you would need to create that in your menu setup.
So if you have 10 sub categories in “movies” and go to the movies page, it will show all the sub categories at top of page. Very cool.
So that is working normally.
SEARCH BUG/PROBLEM:
I just did a search on your website without any problem on the category pages; but it does *not* work on your home page or the post page, as you said.

Is there a way to use the reviews feature of the theme but have the stars display in the loop only ( home page , blocks , widgets )- and not in the single article view. I am using a wordpress review plugin , but with it I cant display the ratings naively . if I combine it with the theme native review feature I have a repeated content in the article.

I am updating a highly customized site from version 2.2 to 4.0. I was wondering how the best way to go about this would be. In the live preview much of the formatting and layout seems to have been removed. I have no custom CSS.
I realize this is an extremely old version of the theme, would it be easiest to simply install 4.0 and rebuild from the ground up? Is it possible to limit the reformatting if i to update 2.2 to 2.3 then to 2.4 etc? are these theme versions still available?
