Please try to make a new clean install from scratch with the latest version of the theme and required plugins via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. Also, if you are using some untested plugins, please try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.

It seems to be a issue with the actual version of WordPress which do not allow you to delete the theme. You should update your theme using the FTP method, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

I have checked on my site, using the latest version of Newspaper (7.4) and all of the subcategories are displayed, as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/GGqfj9BbM0S I guess that your problem being from your side. Disable all of your untested plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out any conflicting plugins.

If you want to make these changes, please notice that you should use a bit of CSS code to do that. Try the code below and place it in Theme panel->Cusotm CSS area and you can adjust the values by your desire.

The theme is fully compatible with our tested plugins and we have not encountered any issue in this regard. If the problem is still there, please try to make a new clean install from scratch only with the required plugins and check the results. You use the theme locally so practically it is on your PC/MAC, so just check the folder where you have installed wordpress and in the following path wp-content/themes you will find the Newspaper theme so you can remove it(backup first) and then copy paste the new theme version – http://screencast.com/t/n2cmP6PRLqH – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Files#wp-content.2Fthemes
