Did you save your older version? You should be saving your downloads from ThemeForest, and also making BACKUPS of your site BEFORE you update it, so you can GO BACK to prior version in case there is issue with plugin, theme, WordPress version, etc.
TagDiv is closed weekends, so you should hear back from them on Monday if you sent email request for v1.6.
Again — good idea to keep backups of all your theme and plugin installers on your local hard drive in a “work” folder for each website. This allows you to “go back” at any time you need to, such as in this case.
Ok, I’ll try requesting the previous version. Hate that I have to install two plugins to do something as simple as make sure the image fits the entire height, but since the grid has two different sized images, I couldn’t figure out a way to get it to work in css witbout it throwing everything off. Appreciate the help.

But the home page sidebar above the block section “Even More News” is not smart like the demo version. Its not freezing. The above sidebar consists Adsense ad, Must Watch Videos & Holidays.
But the sidebar section after “Even More News” block section is fine.

Recently I purchased NewsPaper4 theme for my News portal IndRead. I successfully installed and did all required settings. Its outlook is simply amazing. Here are some of my problems I am unable to find solution for. Wish I could get some help.
Mobile menu and Search button is not working and is showing # link in URL.
Latest article section page 2,3 and so on are also not opening and showing same # in URL.
Lucian – I’ve read this post and others in the form, but the question is never answered (that I can find). Is there a way to just disable this feature? Can I just rename the file “_editor-style.less” or modify another file so it’s not even called and it’s just the standard ‘visual editor’?
I tried to rename the file on a local install of the theme with the demo data, seemed OK, but I wanted to ask the question from you before doing it on our live site.

First of all i’m not a developer i’m a designer/new to wordpress:.I followed the guide by Chris S, it was little bit hard for me to understand all of that, english is not my main language.I did everything i could to improve my pagespeed.I get 89 on desktop and 74 on mobile.I asked developers at my work, they were unable to help or they just sent me away.

I’m not sure what cause this issue. Please try to upload the theme via FTP:
Installing the theme via FTP
1. Download the theme from Themeforest, extract the ZIP file contents to a folder on your local computer.
2. In the extracted folder you find newsmag.zip file.
3. Use an FTP client to access your host web server.
4. Unzip the newsmag.zip file and upload the folder Newsmag to wp-content/themes/

Hello everyone, I’m new and I just bought the issue Newspaper. I just installed without problems, but I see asking me to update Visual Composer attached to Atema. as I can find the license of Visual Composer to update? without such a license I can not update it. thanks
Hi. Just bought your theme today and have been trying to get it to upload but every attempt fails.
I browse to newsmag.zip, click “OPEN” on the browse window. File name loads into the field, I hit “Install Now”, the activity circle on the browser tab spins… approximately 3 minutes elapses with no change and then I get an error page:
This page can’t be displayed
•Make sure the web address http://ctrlp.press is correct.
•Look for the page with your search engine.
•Refresh the page in a few minutes.
Refreshing that page does nothing.
I hit the back button, try again, several times, re-navigating to the zip file each time to be sure, sometimes I get “Are you sure you want to do this”, but usually it just stays on the original error page.
Log-off, close tab, re-open and re-enter, same issue.
Deactivate all Plug-ins, same issue.
Search this site for Newsmag won’t install and Newsmag won’t upload and search returns 0 topics in Documentation and 0 on forum.
Please advise.
Try this:
a) clear all caches including your browser(s); try different web browser
b) resave permalinks
c) from your filemanager in hosting panel double check the ownership of the uploads folder (where images live); and the write permissions
d) check filename of the uploaded images that go wonky — web servers dislike file names with spaces or high ascii characters like $ or () ! etc. — might work on PC or MS Word, won’t work on server — sometimes a tilde in a filename can make it not work — just something to double check
e) if using CDN make sure you don’t have an aggressive cache which is timing out
f) disable any lazy load plugin or CDN setup to see if that is culprit
g) of course, disable plugins to see if that might be cause
h) if you’re using AdBlock plugins on browser, those can sometimes block files (and fonts!) which look like names of ads like “NIKE-SHOE-big-bunny-640×480.jpg”
i) Do a clean reinstall of WordPress — delete the admin and includes folders; upload news ones; then over-write the WP files in root (always keep back up of config); sometimes a single file can get corrupted — you might want to even try this FIRST
all of that might get you “restarted” …

I am using the classic blog style theme and thumbnails are not working for the posts which I published after installing the theme.Thumbnails are working fine for the posts which I published before I was using the NewsPaper theme. You can check at my site “http://www.southjewellery.com/” for the issue in lower right side bar where I added the recent posts widgets (thumnails missings), also thumbnails for recent ports in “Similar articles” section in posts page and the linkwithin thumbnails also not working.
Hey guys, I’ve recently acquired and installed the newspaper theme and I stumbled upon a little problem.

I’m using the theme’s gallery option for the first time under the heading “Veja a galeria de fotos” and the thing is, until the page is fully loaded, the gallery makes a huge mess with the page’s layout.
Is there anything I could make to prevent this from happening? it is indeed a heavy post full of pictures, but I don’t think this is how it’s supposed to behave.

Please make a backup of your current theme installation, so you can revert in case something goes wrong. Normally the posts/pages, styling modifications you’ve set in the Theme Panel – will not be effected by updating your theme, only custom modifications to the theme’s files will be overwritten.

Please make sure that is not a confusion between Newsmag ver 1.7 and Newspaper ver 4.6.2.
If you need to update your Newspaper theme please make a backup of your current theme installation so you can revert in case of something goes wrong. If you have custom modifications to the theme files you will need to make those again in new theme files. You will have to upload the theme like a new theme, you will have to delete your current theme folder(after you make the backup).

Somehow the header / top menu / foot areas on my theme broke on its own (seriously was fine the whole day and looked at the site tonight and it only takes a fraction of the screen up whereas the the header and top menu bar used to extend fully across the screen) – Ive uninstalled theme, completely deleted directory from my hosts site etc but this thing has a hidden installation somewhere because each time I come back even after restoring defaults all of my past settings are there. Can a developer please tell me the correct way to ensure these theme is installed again like new and not looking like it is now – http://www.gadgetfriendly.net

Just delete new theme folder, new plugins, then install the old ones. Easy. I did it 2 weeks ago after 1.7 crashed one of our sites.
Ok I tested this with a fresh install with only newsmag installed. So far I have only spotted the issue in comments and in woocommerce.
If I enter a comment like this one with the line break in between paragraphs:

No like break. This makes long comments hard to read. And makes woo commerce product descriptions impossible.

Hello, this is my first time ever trying to build a website, so forgive me if I sound like I don’t know what I am talking about. I downloaded the Newspaper theme and the Visual Composer plugin, and what I noticed was in certain Youtube tutorials, there was an option that people had called “Front page editor”. I do not have that option on my dashboard. I contacted the Visual Composer customer service staff and they sent me this in an email….
“The issue is because there is an inbuilt version of Visual Composer (or the related code) present in your theme which is overriding the standalone plugin version and hence causing the issue. You will have to get rid of it. I would advise you to do so with the help of theme author, otherwise you might loose the extra elements added by him. Once this is done, you can install the standalone plugin and it will work fine. kindly check.”

Thanks – I installed the plugin. The “Add Open Graph metadata” option was selected by default.
When I then entered the troublesome article’s web address in the Facebook debugger, the following cryptic error message is shown:

As we can see, the values that the debugger gives are identical. What could that mean?
The debugger also telle me “Based on included and inferred properties, the above preview is what users will see when they share this url”, and one of the images in the articles is shown. Not, however, the featured image.

The theme doesn’t output automatic the og: meta data information but you can use a plugin for this. We recommend to use this plugin WordPress SEO by Yoast plugin because is the best for SEO. Just install it and activate the meta data: http://screencast.com/t/9CBtZm0bESiP
