Hello Balleto,

Also, please ensure that this type of issue does not come from your untested plugins. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your cache, purge CDN files if you are using the CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Please notice that I have tested the mobile theme in this case for my side and it works perfectly. Please try again after you have followed this advice and check the results and let us know how it goes.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello akashpandit,

Unfortunately, our theme has not been designed to offers you a way to increase or decrease the width. Please notice that our theme does not have such an option for dynamic width and we do not recommend to do that through the custom CSS code because the layout of the theme will be damaged. If you want to change the width of the theme to be in full-width mode, please notice that is not a simple task and you will have to adjust the entire theme to the new width for better results. If you want to display more levels in our theme and you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to do this for you because we cannot provide customization services at the moment, sorry!
So, if you want to create your own front page with only videos, you will have to use the Player element from Visual Composer, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/WL0TiUuNJeJ and the results you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/9hYZPfNzG Also, if you want you can use and this element -> http://screencast.com/t/dGATtApC7ut

Hey!

If I create a standard page using “Classic Editor” I have a page title and breadcrumbs shown on the page. Soon as I switch to Visual Composer “Backend Editor” then I loose both. Is this by design or am I doing something wrong? How can I add these back to the page?

Thanks!

Here’s what I just tried….

1: I disabled all plugins except Visual Composer.
2: I cleared my browser cache
3: I don’t know what cdn files are so I did not clear them. I’m using GoDaddy Economy Shared Hosting. I don’t know if I am using a cdn model or not.

The images are still not showing up. Please help!!

I’m experiencing the same issue – and have just followed the steps in “How to update Visual Composer plugin” as per the recommended post.

My backend editor just hangs when I click the icon – none of the templates or elements do anything when I click on them.

I had this working fine when I first bought the theme last year and tried it all on a different site. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong?

My site is blog.growthsystem.club

Thanks!

Social Counter 4.1 does not show up in Safari on OS X. I just updated to the latest (25 May 2016) Newspaper theme and associated plugins.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Social Counter using the WordPress Plugins deactivate/delete/install function. I also removed/reinstalled the plugin via FTP. I do not use any caching plugins.

Anyone else having similar experience? Any suggestions or insight?

I am having the exact same problems; Visual Composer does not show the actual templates, just a drop-down menu. I deactivated all plug-ins. Still no go. I deleted the install, downloaded a fresh version (today, May 25) and did a complete reinstall. No go; still doesn’t work. This is my main business site; I need for it to work. What do I do now?

Basically the Visual Composer content that normally appears when I go to EDIT a page, such as the ‘Front Page’ is no longer there. There is only a Visual Composer title area but none of the buttons or features work. And again, there is no content, so that I cannot EDIT and change the page… What is wrong? Bottom line, the on ‘Pages’ Editor it looks as if VC is there but really it’s not and nothing works…

Hello colgate,

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.1.1) and also, the latest version of Visual Composer 4.11.2. Try to clear all your caches and test it again. Please notice that all of these processes you will have to do only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. For more information about how you can update your Visual Composer, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

Hi

@Andrew
You have to update Visual Composer plugin at V 4.11.2 which is included in theme’s path. Current plugin’s version that you’re using it’s outdated and don’t work fine with last version of wordpress: http://screencast.com/t/w3alY0f3lCNz

@flavourmag
you also have an older version of VC: http://screencast.com/t/aIMSkR2kPI Ceck our documentation and update the plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/

Thanks!

Hello lordmazus,

I have checked you website and I saw that your sharing button is working fine now, as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/niONnoNUDC Please notice that if your problem reappears, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello Eurorus,

This type of problem appears when you are using a more powerful caching plugin and I suspect your problem begin from this case. In general, the main page should be updated automatically without you need to follow the steps which you have presented above. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Also, please notice that we recommend using the WP Super Cache plugin for your caches. If you problem is still there, please try to switch the theme to the default one and try to set your home page to be from your latest posts from WP panel ->Reading, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/2w6WacyC and check how it goes.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

The modules and blocks were created by us on the visual composer layout, and yes it;s pretty limited, but we try to do our best with what we have.
1) You can filter cpt-s in blocks but not taxonimoes. The blocks were designed to work with the standard category taxonomyu and not a custom taxonomy. You can either filter all the CPT type like for example an event or a place, but not it;s category.
You can have multiple cpt’s in one block at the same time by adding more post types with a comme like: post, event, palce, etc…and selecting multiple ‘posts’ If you keet the post id filter empty, all of the posts from the CPT’s you filtered will be grabbed in the block sorted by your selected sorting method. latest, random, oldest, etc. If you want specific posts, you can add multiple id’s in the post id filter ex: 45, 48, 245, 56, 675, etc.
2) Unfortunately the blocks are not centralized. You cannot edit them in one place and affect all the other blocks. Pages do not work that way. posts or categories do, but not pages that use visual composer.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Hi,
We tested our theme and we do not seem to have this issue on our side. The theme is optimized for best performances so please try this without any plugins. Disable all of them except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Also make sure you increase the system status parameters like this guide suggests: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ and make sure you meet the requirements for newspaper: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If you still have issues with this, try to create a sub-domain and make a fresh install of wp and the theme for testing purposes.
Thank you!

Hello failmuch,

Please notice the version of the Visual Composer which is required with the latest version of our theme is 4.11.2, so you will have to ignore other related messages to Visual Composer. This type of plugin comes bundled with our theme and it is not necessary to pay nothing for it. As you can see, we have a list with our tested plugins which were tested with our theme and which works as properly, without any conflict. You can use any plugin your want but please notice that we cannot say for sure if it will work 100% with our theme and it will do not cause any problems in theme.
So, if you want to increase your speed optimization, you will have to consult our tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ because there you will find the important steps which you will have to follow in order to achieve best results. Please notice that this tutorial is addressed only for ADVANCED users and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide customization services and not speed optimization at the moment, sorry!

Thanks.

Hi,
Unfortunately visual composer is not recommended on posts in our theme as it was not tested. you can activate visual composer for posts from the VC settings role manager, but you could get mixed results. We only designed the blocks to work on pages, not on posts.
In order to remove the gradient on the slide element and the icons visibility, you can use this css:
.td_block_slide .td-image-gradient:before{
display:none!important;
}
.td_block_slide .td-icon-left, .td_block_slide .td-icon-right{
opacity:1!important;
}

Thank you!

Hello PGN,

I have checked your website and I saw that your Social Counter works as properly. Also, please notice that the Social Counter uses Visual Composer and if this plugin is not updated correctly, the counter will not working.

Hi,
Please check the plugins again as you still have a js error in your console: http://screencast.com/t/0GSxK2JIJM
The lazyload animation is the first to break on js errors that is why the images disappear. DIsable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then check your images again.
Thanks.

Hi,
I have inspected your site and saw the scrolling issue. Or theme does not have this by default if you check our live demo:http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ so I think it;s safe to assume it comes from other elements of your site.
Maybe you have some customization in place so please revert the theme to it’s original state. It could also be a plugin so please deactivate all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then test your site again.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
