Hi Bodgan,

I followed your suggestions and guide on updating the theme, and went with updating the theme with Envato WordPress plugin and followed the steps listed there (option B: at ). While I have downloaded the latest version of Newspaper theme from downloads section of my themeforest account but as per the instructions with Option B with envato there was no requirement to re-install the theme so I didn’t do it or find a way to do it either from the dashboard.

Just to add more details, I didn’t find the Update available as in Step 6 in the how-to update theme page (listed earlier) but API test returned successful. Regarding step 7, I couldn’t follow Update the plugins. Please suggest me in how to execute step 7. Right now, I continue to face the issue and the problem persists. I would need your further guidance and help in resolving the issue.

The install process for child theme is the same as for the main theme, you just need to upload the zip file in WordPress. Thanks for your advice, issue has been solved successfully.

I have deactived, deleted and reinstalled almost all the plugins and I think the problem might come from Jetpack. Now everything works fine.

This happens because you have magazine demo installed and that is the default layout for that demo. Try to comment or delete the indicated code from demo_style.css then test the site again: http://screencast.com/t/mDdDZQ8YteCO

I even tried reinstalling everything again: wordpress + Db + Newspaper + plugins
I was able to narrow the problem to a single plugin: All in one wp security & firewall

When I have this plugin active, some theme panel options are not shown, like in the image above.
Even with the plugin active but with no configuration (just the install), the error persists.
When I deactivate this plugin, everything works, no matter if I use http://www.site.com or just site.com

I already made a clean install of this plugin, but seems that it’s during the install process that it conflits with the theme panel. The obvious option would be to not use this plugin, but it’s kind of annoying because everything was working before the theme update and this plugin gives me important information that I wouldn’t like to not have.
Any ideas of what I can try next?

Before making any changes in your site make sure you do a full backup to your current wp-install and the database also: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

If you already have your own content on the site I assume that won’t help to much if you also import our demo content. I think it will be easier to install a demo without content, so only the layout will be imported.

I have a pretty big site with 5500+ posts and when trying to migrate from a Studiopress.com theme to Newsmag the upper grid/module showing the latest featured stories doesn’t show up at all.

Since I am new to Tagdivs themes I can’t find where to control the upper grid/module.

I do find the page called “Home” but how to customize the page? Is this the place to control the upper grid/module?

Another question: should I install Newsmag with or without demo content? What is most helpful?

Try to update the theme at current version available on themeforest, V 7.3: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Also try to delete the current mobile theme plugin then install it again after you update the theme. During the update process try to deactivate all plugin except Visual Composer to make sure that there are no conflicts.
