As I have stated above, the theme is still 7.3 but the fix was implemented after 7.3 was released. Please download the theme again, delete your current theme and install the freshly downloaded one. The version is the same but the fix will be present.
As an alternative, here is the fix needed:
Add this code in the mobile theme’s function.php:
td_global::$td_options = get_option(TD_THEME_OPTIONS_NAME); //read the theme settings once

Please try to disable all your plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Also, your will have to increase your system status parameters according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

It could be a caching issue. Please check your cache plugin and make sure you only use wp super cache and these settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/

First of all, please ensure that you have fully installed the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.3) with the latest version of each required plugin -> Visual Composer 4.12 and Social Counter 4.1. First of all, you will have to download the theme packet from Envato Market because there you will find the latest version of the theme. With this, all the required plugins will come bundled (Visual Composer 4.12 and Social Counter) which you will have to install to the theme. The image you mention is actually the theme panel background image. you can find it in the main theme files, not in the patch. The patch only contains a few files not all of theme (only the changed files between versions)
if you access that path in the main theme folder, it will be present: http://screencast.com/t/gE5WtI7Nt
The patch should not be part of the installed theme though. Please only use the main theme archive to install your theme, not the whole main package.

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme. Please try to download again the theme from the Theme Forest because we have fixed the issue regarding on Mobile theme (not showing the featured image) but the version of it has not been changed…it is still 7.3 version. Your issue, it is possible to be from this case.

This type of error might be generated by untested plugins…try to remove all of them and check the results.

The default big grid 4 looks like this: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-4/ The one you pointed out is the one from the say what demo. Each demo has it;s own unique style. If you want to have the style of the demo, then you need to install the demo or use custom code to customize the style of your grid.
You can try this css code in the theme panel-> custom css code:

}

I suspect being a js error which interferes with the theme code and causes this type of issue. Try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your cases and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
