I have the latest WordPress upgrade, 6.7.1 of the theme and version 4.11.2 of visual composer. I have no plugins because this is a local installation I use for testing purposes. Yet block 18 is now broken. And it doesn’t happen if I install the previous version of VC. Of course when I install the previous version of VC, all I see is circle turning!

I few month ago, I noticed that the settings panel for social networking had changed. For example, the number of facebook likes disappeared. The twitter figure remained. When I re-visited the documentation page (ref social counter settings), I realised that the screenshots in the demonstration was different from what I have in the theme panel. For example, in the documentation, I have several places to fill just to get the Facebook settings in. In my theme panel, all I have to do is insert the Facebook ID.
I uninstalled and re-installed the social counter plugin (version 3.1), to no avail.
I am using Newspaper 6.1
Has anyone experienced this before? How did you sort it out?

Maybe a week or two ago, I installed Newspaper and made some changes, including changing the sidebar on the index page, so it showed the most recent posts and some menus. I looked today and the sidebar had completely changed back to just a few links, no recent posts, etc. I made another little change in the admin area (I forget what) and it went back to how I had set it before.
Is this related to me not activating the theme yet? The reason I have not activated it is that I am not sure what my final domain name will be, and I am testing it out on a test domain I have that is not related. I don’t want my theme to shut off if I add it on another domain. I don’t really understand the activation, it’s not well explained, it seems like some kind of DRM which I don’t really like.

I also have similar problem, the logo does not show correctly and its more to the right and tagline text not correctly placed.. I guess the freelancer is having difficulty to place logo and tagline how I want.
Preferable, I would like to have it in the middle. The blog was actually installed and customized by a freelancer. I was told, they could not move to the center, or else it will distort the codes or what ever..

Please ensure that you do not have any untested plugin which interact with the theme and Visual Composer to create this issue. Try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. After these changes, if your problem is still there and if you need more assistance in this regard, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so I can further inspect your setup page. The way in localhost to update The WordPress Version is;
1- Update the theme Newspaper6 to the last version like (https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-update-visual-composer-2/) here.
2- Uninstall the Visual Composer and delete it.
3- Update the WordPress Version to 4.5
4- Update it as your suggestion on this(http://screencast.com/t/DwZN21u0VR)

Please ensure that you have followed all the steps for installing the Visual Composer. Also, please try to make a fresh install of the theme and then only install the visual composer version that comes with the theme. Please remove any other version from the plugins section (disable and remove) and then install it from here: http://screencast.com/t/DwZN21u0VR Also, you can try to make a new install from scratch, follow this steps and then check if you will get this error.
Please let us know if you still have problems afterward and let us know when you have the theme active so we can inspect your website.

Technically there are no other changes in the new update besides the new versions of the plugins. Visual composer and revolution slider. If you download the package and just install the new plugins versions, you will have the latest version. It will not say you have it but there is no other change involved.

The message appear because the old folder wasn’t deleted. Login in your account using a ftp client, navigate at your-wp-install/wp-content/plugins and delete js-composer folder. After this step you should be able to update the plugin from your dashboard.
Before making any changes make sure you do a full backup to your current wp-install and the database also: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

Visual composer on my Newspaper 6 theme is not working.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin again and again. it is till nor working.
IT JUST KEEPS ROLLING. When it stops, I dont have access to use the Back end editor. When switched to classic mode,
I see the visual and Text side of WordPress. But the VC does not work in backend mode.
I have switched to WP default theme twentysixteen, but the problem is still there.
I had the same problem after updating to the latest version of wordpress.
I had also installed the new version of Newspaper, 6.7.. but nothing. I can only edit my pages manually.
So I’ll wait for an update, ok?

How much does SumoMe affect things like page requests and render blocking? I have it installed and just ran a Website Grader test. The site got a really high grade except for these two things and the lack of an SSL certificate.
I updated the Newspaper theme and followed your instructions for deleting the old VC and installing and activating the new version. When I look at VC in the plugins list it shows activated. Plus, It seems to be working great. But, I have a message at the top of my Dashboard asking if I want to activate my copy of VC. Do I need to do this? Or am I supposed to ignore it since I get VC through Tagdiv?
This is the message: “Hola! Would you like to receive automatic updates and unlock premium support? Please activate your copy of Visual Composer.”

If you bought the theme a year ago and did not update since, then you will have to reinstall the theme as the patch will not work. If you have newspaper 6, then your settings will be kept, but if you have newspaper 4 then it will be a bit more tricky.
