I installed and activated the theme here> http://futrankings.wpengine.com/
Then I added the adsense code in my ad boxes on the theme panel but they wont show! I have an active (not new) ad that is working already but it wont work on this site.
I tried deactivating all plug ins but still wont work.
I am using header ad, top ad and sidebar ad and none of them are working. But I am using a non Adsense advertising as custom ad 1 and that is working properly.

I’m new and I want to update the theme but I’m scared like crazy that the content I’ve created with visual composer on the newspaper theme will be gone or somehow messed up if I delete the theme and then install the updated version.
Could someone give me some peace of mind and let me know if I would run into any troubles?

Hello, I have a custom ad unit that displays after the first four articles are shown. For desktop I have the google adsense size at 580 x 400. Now here is the problem, there is too much white spacing for my liking. Here is a link to two examples:

Now if this helps, I have deactivated Visual Composer but activated the shim. I can re-activate it if this needs to be done to make changes, however I can’t leave it installed as it slows the site down.

These plugin are optional and they can be used only if you have Woocommerce plugin installed and activated. You don’t have to use them only if you need them.

Please make sure that the plugin was installed properly and all the files were uploaded properly. You can try to connect via FTP delete wp-super-cache folder, then try to upload it again.

Time to first byte has to do with various factors like host speed, hard drive speed, type of network connection (e.g., 100/1000 vs 10/100) for server, number of CPU cores available, etc.
You should try to “tune” that kind of thing with default WP theme first to get fastest time to first byte, then later install the TD theme once you have a speedy start time.

But Time To First Byte connection seems painfully very slow even though i did followed all instructions to speed up newspaper theme powered websites. (Have not installed speed booster plugin)

Regarding the search box, I suspect that also this was a caching issue as it works fine now and I don’t think the speed booster creates this as it is tested with theme, maybe it is in a conflict with another plugin.

The speed booster was tested only with these plugins – http://screencast.com/t/hcjLnOqh4i2 and if you use other plugins it will be automatically disabled. A lot of people install the plugin without knowing what it does and after that they add many plugins and some of the them are not written fine, so the developer took this decision. Anyway Speed Booster is an optional plugin so you can disable it if you don’t want to use it.

As for the error, it comes from the ubermenu plugin. Try to disable all your plugins except visual composer and check the issue again.

I have spent hours trying to troubleshoot and fix this.
Here is the error code:
Catchable fatal error: Object of class stdClass could not be converted to string in /home/content/77/11795277/html/wp-content/themes/Newsmag/includes/wp_booster/td_block.php on line 131
#1 Only occurs on posts and pages (not home page)
#2 Removes many images, eliminates 90% sidebar and 100% footer
What I have done:
#1 Clear Cache
#2 Inactivate all plugins – Reactivated and it worked briefly and the error came back.
#3 Did an FTP install of theme and Visual Creator (Now version 4.74)
#4 I tried backing up to my last Updraft back-up (October 6th)
It is very stubborn for a n00b like myself; perhaps an expert can pinpoint what’s triggering this.

Well, theme doesn’t automatically change your pages.
So, might be issue with any auto-updates you have running, or issue with CDN, etc.
Hopefully you installed the Akismet update if you’re using that with comments turned on, as that is major security patch announced overnight.
Theme doesn’t have security issues, but plugins might that you’re using.
REMINDER:
both Visual Composer needed to be updated last week — major security flaw.
AND the Akismet plugin need to be updated for major security flaw.
Site can be hacked from both of those.

I deleted the plugin several times, re-uploaded it from the files bought from Envato and nothing. Activated it via theme dashboard and nothing.

I just changed to a new server, fresh install of wordpress, installed your Newspaper Theme and imported my content. Everything seems good, the images show up in the posts but when I go to the Media Library I don’t see any of the images and all the feature images are not attached to the posts. I imported from an Artisteer generated theme for WordPress.
Any idea why I am not seeing the images.

If you have installed another version of the plugin, please remove it and install the correct one.
If the problem is still there, please try to disable all other plugins except visual composer and see if it’s not a plugin conflict.
