Hi,
We have not had similar reports of problems with the theme update. I don’t know what could be causing this kind of issues with your website, and also have an impact on the database. A clean theme install and using only the bundled plugins should work properly.
You could send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information, as well as FTP access so we can take a look. Also paste a link to this topic.
Thanks
Hello,
The new theme plugins install automatically when the theme is activated. It is an intentional feature, not a malfunction.
The general plan is to have people use our own page builder instead of visual composer as we will no longer develop anything for visual composer. We have our own much lighter page builder now and all of the new features we add in future version of the theme will be available exclusively for the tagDiv composer. Visual composer will not receive anymore features.
Thank you!
Hello peppejari,
Please make sure that you do not have any errors through your console and also, if you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all the caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files and rule out any conflicting plugins. Please keep in mind that your untested plugins might interact with the theme core files and cause a lot of unknown problems and that’s could be the reason in your case. Try my advice, clear all the caches and check the results. The TD Composer should work as expected.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
Please make sure that the plugins are activated in the plugins section. They should appear in the page edit screen. You could try as a test to disable all your other plugins except the composers, clear any caching installed and check again. If nothing works you could try a fresh theme install using this method
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
And test while no other plugins are active as well. Please let us know how it goes.
Thanks
Hi,
It seems to be working properly for me with the code you provided

Maybe you have caching installed, try clearing the cache.
Thanks
Hello,
We use seo by yoast on all installs but we never saw that error. Please contact us on our email address at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to your site and wp-admin (login information and admin rights) so we can login and investigate. Please also include a link to this conversation.
Thank you!
Hi,
when I purchased the theme I installed the dark demo and kept working on/with it.
1. When I inspect the code, though, I see a lot of the word “demo” in the code itself, which doesn’t look very nice. Also the css looks like having one css overwriting the other. Sometimes the final css property in the inspector lays on top of 4 or 5 crossed out css properties which it overwrites.
>> Is it possible to clean up the installation so the code looks “not demo” and the css is clearer, while keeping the current look and settings?
2. I haven’t used a child theme from the beginning but i feel the necessity now.
>> If I create the child now, will it affect the way the site looks? Is there a specific procedure to start a child theme from zero when the website is up and running?
Thank you
JP
Thank’s a lo Chris! What do you mean with “Clean install” via FTP ? Making a “Clean Install” that’s mean that I haven’t run script?
What is job of that script that they recommend?
Further update from our Server Admin:
Message to theme developer…
Is there a potential issue with the new editor (pagebuilder)? Using the update method requested does not fix the issue. Everything was working as expected, the very moment the new version of the theme was activated, only a white screen was displayed in both front end and back end of WordPress. There were no plugins active whatsoever (they were all deleted), only the new theme and WordPress default TwentySeventeen themes were available. In turn, it appeared some database tables were compromised and required restoration (as reverting to the previous them (still using the same data in tables) did not work.
Using the older Newspaper 7.8.1 theme version, everything is working as required (even with plugins installed and activated).

How are you? I just started building a website with only the Sabai Directory plugin installed (most recent version 1.3.40) and when setting a basic slider using Slider Revolution the sidebar overlaps the slider. I have disabled all plugins except those related to the Newspaper theme and this issue was not resolved. Can you verify whether the Sabai Directory plugin is fully compatible with Newspaper and provide a solution to the sidebar overlapping the slider? Thanks.
I purchased Newspaper 7 about 8 or 9 months ago but have just recently installed it, so I hope my support is still honored.
The previous Theme was The-7, which also included the Visual Composer plugin.
But when I switch to the Newspaper 7 theme, everything works except for the webpages containing the Visual Composer code (which appear blank with no error message).
I’m able to edit and save these pages using the Backend Editor, they still won’t load (are blank) in the browser.
I’ve tried downloading a fresh copy of the theme and deleting/re-installing the js_composer plugin from the zipped theme download, but nothing works.
Can you please assist?
Jumping from v4 to v8 you’re much better off doing clean install via FTP, after doing backups, and such; as so much has changed, it’s quite a lot. Went through that with Newsmag going from 1x to 3x.
(I don’t work here – just opinion.)
Hi Guys,
I’ve just installed the latest version and page load time is ridiculous.
Can’t really understad why, it was ok with the previous theme.
Any suggestions?
Website is dreamgeek.ro
Thanks
Catalin:
First, thanks for all your help with my previous inquiries over the past year. Much appreciated.
I’m writing with three questions.
1) I updated my site from 7.8.1 to 8. Once I did that, the Single Image Composer in Visual Composer no longer displays the image correctly. It’s my site logo on the home page of rovertreks.com. I’ve tried adjusting sizes, re-installing, and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?
2) I would like to post my logo as a banner across the top of all pages? How do I do that? Up to this point, I’ve run the logo as a large single image to identify my site name.
3) I cannot get social counter to recognize my Facebook feed to display the number of followers. I’ve followed the troubleshooting procedures you folks recommend: clearing cache, reloading pages, etc. Nothing works. Any suggestions?
As always, I appreciate your help and advice. Thanks, tom
Okay, I understand and disabled the TG Composer – now the website is again okay…but just to say: I didnt use the TG Composer - but the plugin was activated automatically...didnt you check before launching the TD Composer occurring problems with the VC Composer?
A Tipp for the future: Please give to your clients an information in advance if you update the theme and you introduce a new plugin which will be automatically installed and also activated. It`s the second time in my case, that you change something in the theme and after an unknow time I checked that the website is not running well due to a new plugin launched by you.
Your theme is (fortunately) so powerfull, that not every client can check every function if it it`s running really well after an update by you…
With best regards, thanks for suppport

hi ive updated newspaper to v8 but i cannot see the visual composer button to edit my frontpage any longer and no tagdiv composer button?
Hello, Catalin.
Thank you. The reinstallation of the theme and tagDiv Composer helped.
Hello,
It seems you did not migrate the theme properly. I suggest reinstalling the theme by using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/
Also you can try to disable all plugins as plugin conflicts can also affect the theme.
THe new host can have a hosting side cache so we sugggest removing it and only use wp super cache: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Thanks.
Hi team,
I want to embed below code in my newspaper theme can any one help me out.
<script type=’text/javascript’ src=’http://www.yupptv.com/js/ntvembed.js’></script>
thanks
Hi,
First try to deactivate all your plugins except the ones provide in the theme package, clear any caching installed, the check to see if you still have the problem with the login and the slow back-end. Also check these parameters in the theme system status and make modifications if needed, according to this guide
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
For website page speed optimization you can follow this guide after trying the steps from above
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Thanks
Hello 2rybinsk,
You can use this guide to regenerate the thumbnails if they are not displaying properly
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
After the regeneration process is complete, please clear any caching installed.
Thanks for the message!

Hello Shawn,
Please ensure that you have right installed the theme via FTP way and also, the system status is increased according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
If the problem is still there, please send us an email, so we can make some inspections at your backend.
Thanks.
