Hi,
With every new version of wordpress, there will always be updates and fixes released so It’s best to keep an eye out for theme when you see a new version of WP. In order to fix the problems created by this new version you need to update your theme to the latest version by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and also very important, to update the visual composer plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thank you!
Chris,
While I appreciate your humor unfortunately I have spent hours on this to no avail. I certainly know how to locate files. The issue is that there are several instances of Newspaper on my hard drive. I did download the most recent recent version of Newspaper through WordPress. In total I have spent three hours on this and it defeats the purpose of why I purchased Newspaper which was for it’s plug and play capability as I am not a developer in any way shape or form.
To ensure that I have the new jscomposer file and new newspaper file on my hard drive can you please point to where I can download these files a second time so that I can download them and try this process for a fourth time? The stress of this and my site not functioning is coming to a head.
I appreciate any help I can get.
Hi
I’ve checked your site and the images are displayed fine now: http://screencast.com/t/gDQYvUbhx Also I’ve noticed that you’re using an older version of Visual Composer plugin. There is a chance to have some issues with its functionality as last WordPress’s update caused some conflicts with older versions of Visual Composer. If this happens update Visual Composer at V 4.11.2 which is included in theme’s path. Here is our update documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thanks!
Hi,
Make sure you also update the visual composer plugin by following the guide in this topic. It’s the plugin itself that had issues with the new version of WP, not the theme, but this was fixed in the latest version of VC 4.11.2
Thank you!
Hi,
Please follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue
1) Deactivate ALL plugins except visual composer
2) Clear cache from the caching plugin you use. Also clear the browser’s cache http://www.refreshyourcache.com/en/home/
3) If you use a CDN server, please purge the cdn files.
If the problem is still there afterwards, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can log-in and inspect the issue. Please also include a link to this topic so we can identify you.
Thank you!
Hi
The theme does not have an option to control the title length for blocks. The title will have length set when you add it in Visual Composer: http://screencast.com/t/oUBR4LlN
If this is not what you mean please provide more specific details about what you’re trying to do so we can inspect this and get back to you with a more accurate answer.
Thanks!

Hi
You can use the theme without Visual Composer, there won’t be any issues with its functionality but you won’t be able to use any of theme’s blocks. Theme’s blocks demands by Visual Composer and can’t be used without it, but if you don’t want to use theme then the plugin is not required.
Thanks!
Hi,
This is because you updated WordPress to the latest version but not the theme and the Visual composer plugin.
Please update your theme using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
And also update the visual composer plugin like so: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thank you!
Hi,
I’m not sure if it;s the block titles you are referring to. You can access the pages in the back-end and edit the blocks with visual composer to change the block titles: http://screencast.com/t/8ef6VHLw3Hw4
If this is not what you mean, please provide more details so I can understand better how to help.
Thank you!
Dear Friends,
I just purchased and installed your theme on a new site i’m using as a mockup. My eventual plan is to have it replace my company website.
For the first few days everything was working wonderfully. However, with the update to 4.5 and the update to the latest version of the theme, something wonky has happened to the Visual Composer Plugin.
I went through the steps of downloading the latest version of the theme and reinstalled the latest version of the plugin but this isn’t solving the problem (yet)
Essentially, I don’t have access to any of the Visual Composer buttons when I create a page or post. When I click not on the icon, it simply kicks me out to purchase Visual Composer separately.
When you visit the site (new.teachercast.net) You can see that everything looks great and that that the pages where I have included VC elements also work (http://new.teachercast.net/speaking/) however, I’m not seeing how to fix the issue where I can’t continue to create or edit these pages without the site kicking me out to purchase the plugin.
BTW: I LOVE THIS THEME!!!
Also …. on a side note: I can’t seem to update any of the user data for my authors. When I go into add any social info or bio info for the users, it simply ignores it when I hit save. Is this something you could also help me out with? I’m not sure who to turn to for this.
I can certainly create an admin account for you if needed.
Thank you for the help!
– Jeff
Hello,
After updating to wordpress 4.5 the visual composer cannot load properly. When I try to edit a page, it never loads and stops after a minute, so I`m not able to edit my pages. Do you have any solution about this ?
Hi,
Please make sure you installed the theme correctly by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
You can also try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files to rule out a plugin conflict.
If the error is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin sop we can take a look. Please also include a link to this topic so we can identify you.
Thank you!
Hi
@awesomenezz make sure you’re using the current theme’s version available on themeforest, V 6.7.1 and also update the Visual Composer plugin at V 4.11.2. Here you can find our documentation regarding the update process: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ Also check if the parameters from system status are have the recommended values. Here you can check our documentation for more details: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Thanks!
Hi,
The shortcode for the plugin appears on your site because you have the widget set either on a sidebar in the widgets area or in visual composer on pages. You need to remove it from there also if you want to remove the shortcodes.
Thank you!
After updating to WordPress 4.5 & update 6.7.1 newspaper , Visual Composer “Classic Mode” not show edit button,
Hi,
@Dhananjay, the Visual Composer plugin will work as before. they simply added a message for activation that does not interfere with any options or features of the plugin. You can ignore the message and use it the plugin like before.
@aph100 glad you managed to solve it. Please keep in mind that not all plugins work with our theme. This is the case with all premium theme as the code is custom and not all plugins can recognize it.
Hope this helps.
Thank you!
Hello Edward,
Glad too see you are doing well.
1) The code you are referring to in the sidebar is actually a social counter shortcode that does not get rendered because you do not have the plugin active. Either remove the social counter from the sidebar if you do not want to use it, or simply activate it from the plugins section.
2) This could be a plugin issue so please try to identify the plugin that causes it. please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then check the sidebar again.
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks.
Hi
I am not sure why this happens as I’ve duplicated the situation on my side and didn’t got any issue. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again. Also Note that that you need to have at least two posts in the category the you select in slider block settings. If you have only one post in the selected category the slide block won’t appear on page.
Thanks!
Hi,
In order to update the theme, you can follow this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
For visual composer: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Hope this helps.

Hi
The last theme update is tested and works fine on Chrome. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn file if you’re using then test again. Also make sure that you’re using lat version of Visual Composer plugin included in theme’s path, V 4.11.2.
Thanks!
Hi, my website is ballplayerplus.com. Ive updated my theme, deactivated all third party plugins, however, the “edit with visual composer” is nowhere to be found. I can edit my pages with page builder, but thats not as effective as using visual composer. Any help would be critical
Thanks
Hi
@EN site Visual Composer plugin comes bundled with our theme and you don’t have to pay for it. Make sure you install the plugin from theme’s path and ignore the activation message. Basically when you bought our theme you also bought a license for all plugins included.
@aliou89 glad you have managed to fix this.
Thanks!
Hi @EN site

Hi
That happens because you’re using latest version of WordPress which generate a jQuery conflict with V 2.3.5 or older of Newsmag.
