First off, thank you for this amazing theme.
On my homepage I have the Homepage post block inserted through visual composer and it looks amazing.
I was wondering if its possible to have a read more button appear below the subtitle on the homepage? I was able to manually add the button by adding it to the subtitle input on the post but the problem is it shows the read more button on the post page.
I’d like to be able to have a read more button below the post subtitle on the homepage only for the featured post that uses the homepage post widget.

1. The visual composer text block font size is different on posts and pages. At posts it’s correct, at pages the font is to small. You can try it yourself and see the difference when you paste the HTML code below on a page, and on a post.

2. I’ve upgraded from the old v4 to the new v6. In the old version the i was used to edit text with ‘quote’ options. unfortunately they are gone in v6. Is there any possibility to use them again?

I’ve been battling this problem all day with the social counter widget added via JS composer on my homepage………… It wasn’t until I added the facebook details into a widget to be used in another page sidebar that the facebook details magically started working in both widgets.
Maybe it was a coincidence? But I’m relived it’s working 🙂

Unfortunately, I cannot recreate the same issue. I suspect this issue that might be caused by conflicting plugins. Please try to disable all the active plugins, except Visual Composer, clear all cache and instal only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the plugins in conflict.
If you need more assistance in this regard and if your problem is still there, please provide your website URL so I can inspect it closer and provide a more accurate response.

I’m not really sure what you are trying to do. Do you want to display latest articles after the pagebuilder content? If you do you can set Pagabuilder with Latest Articles template – https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/ You can control the latest articles section from page settings – http://screencast.com/t/nO73WuxSqgU

The theme has some server requirements as it is specified in our documentation – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ please to increase php memory and the other parameters like it is specified in this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ and also please follow the pagespeed optimization guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Lately the Visual Composer plugin was optimized a lot regarding the performance and security and recently we did not received any reports about this, also our theme is optimized to work with Visual Composer plugin.
You can also try to reduce the number of ajax using elements on page (mega menus, ajax pagination/load more/infinite load). Also reduce the number of blocks on your main page and enable only the plugins that you need to use.

Please make sure you have installed/updated the theme right using this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and please make sure you use the latest version of the plugins provided with the theme(Visual Composer, Social Counter..) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
If you have also other plugins active please disable them and check this only with Visual Composer active, clear cache and see if it works, if you use child theme please check this by using the main theme.

@nf_prt provided an accurate answer regarding the update please make this right like it is specified in the documentation and also update the plugins provided with the theme from /plugins folder – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ If you have custom modifications to the theme files you will need to re-add them as all the files will be overwritten, but the theme/wordpres settings should not be affected. Anyway it is recommended to make a full backup of your current installation – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

I need to use Module 13 layout in a page using visual composer but I find that it is not available as blocks or modules. Since it is already available for category article display, I was hoping that it might be a simple process to integrate it into the theme if not already available.
I would really appreciate it if you could guide me on how I could use this layout for my article listing in pages.

The theme doesn’t have an option to add an extra class for blocks. This can be done only by editing the block’s code: http://screencast.com/t/GMNY9YO8Oxy At the moment best way to add an extra class is by using the options from Visual Composer.

Usually if you chose only posts from one category to be displayed in a block then posts from others main categories shouldn’t be displayed in that block among the ones which should be displayed according with your filter. I am not sure why this filter does not work correctly on your site but you can try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again. If the problem persit try to update the theme at the current version available on themeforest, v2.3.5: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ then test again.

I’ve been having an issue for nearly a year now with my site being taken off-line. First I thought it was crappy godaddy hosting, but after moving to host gator and siteground, I was still having issues. I have been working closely with SiteGround and we have concluded that it’s the Newspaper theme that has been causing these issues all along!
When I changed the theme over to a basic one, my site now uses three times less resources! I believe it’s possibly Visual Composer, but am not 100% about that. Is there anything that I can do to reduce the server load when using this theme or do I have to find a new theme??
Try with just the visual composer plugin and no other plugins installed/active (e.g., no reason to use a woocommerce plugin if not usinf WC). Try not using child theme. Make sure you have at least 64MB allocated to WP. Make sure the paths are correct for WP to find itself.

Immediately I finished installing the js_composer folder manually, other plugins didn’t complain ‘The plugin does not have a valid header.’

This errors seams to be related with one of your installed plugins. From what I can see that is not a plugin tested with the theme and in this case it’s possible to appear errors like this. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again. After this you can enable the plugins one by one so you can check which one causes this issue.

I have inspected your site again and saw that in your slider you have some incorrect images. So, the general thumb of this element, in your case ->use the Visual Composer element on three column layout <- has the next dimensions -> width=1068px and height=580px as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/NAusqn86G Your images ahs these real dimensions -> width=960 px and height=640px -> http://screencast.com/t/18bMXd9t Therefore, your are using inappropriate image with width smaller then the thumb and the height bigger than the thumb and hence the image position, is not centered. The theme only crop the image (center -> top) and does not enlarge this. If your image is too short for the thumb you will have this gap of the space. We suggest using a plugin like ‘thumbnail upscale’ with ‘force regenerate thumbnail’ to fill the thumbs. Also, you can use a bit of CSS but is not the best solution for this ->
