Hi I installed the newspaper theme and it is the first time I want to install google adsense in my website.
According to the guidance to set Adsense, it asked me to copy the code in the “head” section of my site. How I do it? is there available a plugin to let me do that? Or is it enough to copy it in the Ads section of the theme panel?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I posted about this yesterday and followed up with a comment that the problem was the host. That doesn’t appear to be the case after-all.

Our problems began yesterday and suddenly (we were not doing anything to our site.) The News Magazine theme suddenly started producing these errors (below). Our production website is running wordpress 4.7.4 Our staging site is still on 4.7.3 and seems to work still.

This should be in the FAQs, actually … if there were one.

When you do a theme update, your folder is temporarily exposed and Google may try to index it, but there is nothing there to “execute” and so you get an error. Usually you will see (1) of these in your Google Search Console each time you do a theme update since the theme has to be removed, then reinstalled, and if Google “looks” at the site while it happens -bam- you get that error.

Getting one error at update is normal.

Getting dozens means hack attempt.

Often you can simply have an index.php file there saying “this is not a public page.”

Hi,

I don’t have any custom CSS or any plugin installed.
The webpage it’s located in http://nabarralde.eus/.
Can I write here WordPress background access? Or do I need to write the password in a specific way?

Thanks,

Hello Imagineer,

It seems that your style.css do not apply to your website. I suggest you make a new fresh install from scratch via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard.

Thanks for the message!

Hello Imagineer,

I have inspected your website and I did not saw any problems with your menus, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/CK11bJxbX43b Ensure that you have installed the theme via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard.

Hi,

You can use this guide to check if the social counter has been configured properly
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial/
Try clearing any caching installed and check again. Please note that there could be some delay for the data to refresh, so it would be best to try and wait for a little more time after setting it up. Also your Facebook profile page must be public in order for the social counter to work as intended.
If it’s still not working, please provide a link to your website so we can take a look.

Thanks
Have a nice day too!

I now made a completely fresh plugin-free install of WordPress on a new domain. I installed Newspaper theme, then MashShare plugin. Same problem: https://snag.gy/vIpOlS.jpg

Ok, it’s not supported, too bad. I guess I have to learn some basic coding/editing the template. But I hope you consider fixing this small issue for future updates..

Hello,

I have a problem with the Social Counter on Facebook count.
I have installed the latest social plugin version, the one that successfully gets the Access Token from Facebook, but i still get 0 fans .

I have also checked in /wp-content/plugins/td-social-counter/shortcode/td_block_social_counter.php for $atts variable and it doesn’t come up with the access_token parameter.

Thank you!
Have a nice day.

Hi,

You can only update the Visual composer manually. Just deactivate and delete it, then install the latest version provided in the theme package – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
This editor comes pre-activated in the theme package and you can use all the available features, there is no need to activate the Visual composer bundled in theme package.
You can update the theme using this method – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and also find more update advice here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
The settings in the theme panel will not be lost, only modifications made directly to the theme files will be removed, as the files will be replaced.
As suggested in the update guide, you should make a full backup before you take any action.

Thanks

Hello,
You should also update the social counter. Disable and delete the current social counter you have installed and then install it again from the main theme package you download from envato.
Thank you!

Hello pablosoberano,

Please ensure that you have right installed your theme according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ To be safe, you should download again the latest version of the theme from Theme Forest and install it gain via FTP way at your side, clear all your caches and check the results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the message!

When I add a picture to a post, the size options (thumbnail, large, custom) all seem to work fine, except for “large”, in that the image settings (Dashboard>Settings>Media) I’ve defined “large” as a max of 1024×1024 (“medium” doesn’t even display since I installed Newspaper). But when I go back to select the size of the image to insert into a post, the “large” option is still maxed at 640 for any photo I select.

From my reading, it seems like Newspaper is overriding WordPress on how big a picture can be. I understand if it needs to do this for a template, but for simply adding an image to into a post, I need higher quality than a width of 640px, and I don’t want to have to do a custom size for each picture.

Other WordPress users who have experienced the same said to go to the functions.php file to correct it (something about $content), but it looks like Newspaper doesn’t use functions.php to resize images.

Any thoughts on how to fix this/locate this function in Newspaper?

thanks for the support!

The experience with your theme is super!

I have now installed the Newspaper version 7.8.1.

In TOP Bar all the buttons are gray- I understand disabled,

and specifically show bar and show sign-in are in gray, not in blue

but if I read the html page I still have this line:

var td_email_user_pass_incorrect=”User or password incorrect!”;

Please, is there any other command that could produce this line?

Thanks in advance

Hello TheZugzwangBlog,

Please ensure that you are right installed the latest version of the theme via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard. If the problem is still there, please try to make a new clean install from scratch with another domain and check the results. Most likely, this problem happens due to your bad theme installing.
Try my advice, clear all your caches and let us know how it goes.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi.
I just bought the Newspaper and when I tried to use it I received a message that I have to buy a license of Revolution Slider to upgrade it.
Note: I installed the Revolution Slider that came with the pack.
Can´t I use and upgrade it when I buy the Newspaper?

Hi, I bought the Newspaper theme in Envato.
I’m installing it. When I try to activate the WPBakery Visual Composer plugin I get this error:

Hi

I plan to use adsense and was wondering the best method and easiest.

I see there are plug ins avaliable for WordPress and Adsense.

1 – Do i need to install one of these plug ins for adsense to work on my website (if so which best)
2 – If i do not use Adsense and use another is it a very technical and long winded method to manually add the scripts?

Sorry i am new to adsense and would appreciate help and advise

Hi,
I understand I should install the demo without content.

1/ Can I switch on and off demos to check which one is the best ?

2 / I already have content on my website. Is this ok ?
https://radisrose.fr/

3 / Should I erase the actual content on the home page to have it blank to import the demo ?

Thank you.

Hello,

We have purchased and successfully installed and customised your theme. But when we try to add an slider at the top of the page: http://myintegralis.com/blog/ it doesn’t appear. We would like it to appear just like the screenshot(Gyazo): https://gyazo.com/8b56728f3bc4ddd8a592fece873743ff

We already have reinstalled the plugin and disabled all the others plugins but unsuccessful.

Also is it possible to have the images from the posts retangular and square? “Pinterest style” as you can see in the screenshot(Gyazo) above. And the logo as in the screenshot(Gyazo)?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there. We are using this theme for a News aggregation site that includes original content and 3rd party content links. We would love for the option of a custom URL for 3rd party content that links directly to the source site. I have installed the plugin Page Links To for this purpose, but our contributors often use Press This to post content, and would love a built-in option that would automatically populate an outbound link option in the page editor. Do you have any recommendations for us?
