Hi,

There is no need to add css for custom fonts. You can simply add it to the custom fonts section and then selecting it for your elements from the frop-down. I will post here a more specific guide than the documentation for all users to benefit from:
Here is a step by step guide on how to add custom fonts to your content:

1) Download your preferred font but you need to make sure it’s a woff file. If it’s not, you need to search for a tool of converting fonts to a .woff format. (there are free online tools like fontsquirrel.com)

2) Upload your woff file to your server in any path you want (It has to bee inside your main wordpress instalation)

3)Add the full path to your .woff file. A full path looks like this:
http://mydomain.com/wp-content/customfonts/Angeline Vintage_Demo.woff
I created a “customfonts” folder in wp-content
If I were to add the font in the main root directory of wp, the correct path would be this one:
http://mydomain.com/Angeline Vintage_Demo.woff
It needs the absolute path to the font file no matter what folder structure you choose to have.
In order to check if the path you entered is correct, you can copy it into the browser as a standard url and the browser should download the file. If it provides a 404 error, it means the path you entered for your font is incorrect.

4) Add a name to your font in the font family box: http://screencast.com/t/sAr9rRakShu

5) Now your font will appear in the fonts dropdown so you can select it for your preferred elements: http://screencast.com/t/yrxW9kdQ0oH

This method does not require css to work.

@david
If custom fonts do not apply to all your pages, there must be some css overwriting the font. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. If this does not fix it, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can login and inspect the issue.

I hope this helps.
Thank you!

Hello kawalchhabra,

I have checked your website and I saw that you do not use the classic structure for a post with Featured Image. As I can see, you are using some untested plugins which bring your photo on your post page. I have tested your post URL with Facebook Debugger, I have scraped again your post and then the sharing seems to work as properly as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/jvYyhYEc02M and the result here-> http://screencast.com/t/w5sXmV95z
On the future, please try to set a featured image for each post because the Facebook will bring this when the post is sharing on the Facebook. Also, please notice that our theme is not tested with this type of plugin and to avoid some errors that may appear in theme, please try to disable all the untested plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi,
after the update to Newsmag 3.0 (http://wp-dev-ntr24-31ba64cdf656650e14f1f97f34ac243d.ntr24.tv/) I’m having some padding issues on my home page. More precisely, I must remove padding highlighted in yellow in my home page (please see http://screencast.com/t/07zrrQDKC46) in order to have the two sections aligned (please see http://screencast.com/t/8naDSi5kg9fj). From Chrome inspector tool I see that it comes from the instruction “padding-top: 35px;” provided by js_composer.min.css. Why I never had this unwanted padding with the theme old version and how can I get to have this padding removed?
Same story for the padding in the sidebar under the post slider where I can’t find a way to reduce the padding highlited in yellow (please see http://screencast.com/t/u8WDzDZifKTa).
Until now, only when needed, I’ve always done modifications to style.css but never modified neither other css files nor visual composer files.
So that how can I do it?
Thanks in advance,
Giuseppe

Hello esplota,

Please check again if you are using the latest version of the Theme with Visual Composer on 4.11.2 and also, make sure if this process was made only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. Try to clear all your caches and test it again. Also, if you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of them and leave just Visual Composer to active and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
So, if your plugin is still there after these changes, please try to make a new fresh install from scratch with the latest version of the theme, leave just Visual Composer installed and check the results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi

You can add a margin from row’s design option: http://screencast.com/t/a18LhJZMO6http://screencast.com/t/C0TJadim5
The blank space appear because you have three empty rows after block: http://screencast.com/t/OTJzYOYGBMC Try to remove these rows from Visual Composer then test the page again.

Hope this helps.
Thanks!

Hello dirk,

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme which is Newspaper 7.1.1 and also, makes sure if you have fully updated your required plugins to the latest version of them -> Visual Composer 4.11.2 and Social Counter 4.1 (these processes have to be made via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard) Try to clear all your caches and test it again.
So, if your problem is still there after these changes, please try to make a new clean install from scratch, with the latest version of the theme and try to test the theme with the default settings, without any untested plugins but only with Visual Composer.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the message!

Hello Caum,

I suppose that you want to use the Blocks in the Sidebars, right? So, if you want to do that, you will have to use the Visual Composer when you edit your homepage and add what kind of block you want in order to achieve the desired layout, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/pqWZn389ZF For more information about how you can use the Visual Composer, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/ and also, this video tutorial could be more useful for you -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LC7iz-v-zIY
If you refer to something else, please provide more details, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,
Updating from newspaper 6 to 7 should go smoothly and no settings will be lost as they are kept in the database. It is recommended however to do a back-up before updating. Please use this guide to update:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Also make sure you update the social counter plugin as well. Your current social counter will not work with newspaper 7.
Thank you!

Hello FCEmarketing,

Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. It is possible as your untested plugins to interfere with the theme and damage the layout of the Big Grid.
If your problem is still there after this and if you need more assistance in this regard, please provide your website URL so I can further inspect the problem.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi

Post grid is an element built in from Visual Composer and the theme can’t control it. To translate that part you can try to use a plugin like qtranslate. The plugin is not tewsted with th theme but from our reports works fine.

Thanks!

Hi Nat,
Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. This will rule out a plugin conflict that most likely causes your errors.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!

Hello kawalchhabra,

I have tried to access your links but no success. I get the blank page -> http://screencast.com/t/4Utxz7HsQX3s Please notice that our theme does not have control about Facebook Share but only the SEO Yoast. This type of plugin is fully tested with our theme and seems to work as properly. Try to set that plugin, according to our documentation from this link -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/facebook-share/ Clear all your caches and check again the results. Also, if you are using some untested plugins, please try to disable all of them and leave just Visual Composer to active and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your understanding!

I was wondering if you guys knew how I could create something like this. Preferably on both the home-page in Visual Composer and the Widget Sidebar.

Here is an example (I know it isn’t NewsPaper theme, but I want to apply it to my Newspaper site): https://gyazo.com/156ad297830c7f1de0b6e64d78521f96

On the top right-hand side they have the small website logos left-aligned, and the buttons right-aligned. Is there any way to do this in Newspaper?

Thank you!

hello
Iam using newspaper which is really a beautiful designed theme.

unfortunately i got a problem with the viszualisation of the frontpage when in page edit mode:

when showing the homepage of the web the whole configuration is shown as usual.
when going in edit mode the visual composer blocks are not shown. it seems that no visual composer block has been used
when switching from visual composer to “classic vizualisation all the parameters are shown in the text editor.

(btw, i am using the travel demo setup. everything worked flawlessly)
what happened?

thanks in advance

Hello keeno79,

Please notice that if you want to keep the sidebar when you use Visual Composer, you will have to create your sidebar using this plugin and not using the sidebar from widgets area. So, if you need the sidebar for pages using the Visual Composer, you will have to use the Widgetised sidebar, element from VC plugin, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/VFTaoZHoo For more information about how you can make your homepage, please consult our video tutorial here -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LC7iz-v-zIY Also, for more information about how you can use the Visual Composer as properly, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/

Hope this helps!

Thank you @AndreL. That’s great. I had actually attempted to buy the visual composer premium and could not conclude because my payment had issues. I am glad it did not go through.

How then do I update it since it keeps reminding me that the plug in needs to be updated.

Hello roland1580,

Unfortunately, our post pages have been designed to be used in 1 or 2 columns (with sidebar). If you need to add 3 columns in posts, you will have to use Visual Composer for posts, but please notice that this plugin is not tested on the posts and we cannot provide support for this in that case, sorry!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi Eddie.
please read this guide to see how updates are released for VC: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
We will include it in the next theme update. The new update for VC arrived immediately after we updated newspaper 6 so we did not get the chance to integrate it. We will include it in the next theme update.
Thank you!
