Hello rjohansen,
Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option for Big Grid and that means that you have to change the entire functionality of Big Grid and that involve custom work which is not a simple task, sorry! Another possibility for you would be to use a Slider from Visual Composer and then you have to set it to display one post, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/xThfmkcj6I
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
It is recommended to update the theme to the latest version and also update the visual composer plugin as well by following these 2 guides:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Thank you!
Hi
Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches than test again. Also make sure that you’re using last theme version available on themforest, V 2.3.6, and also update Visual Composer at v 4.11.2. Here you can find our documentation for more details about update process: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Let us know how it goes and if the problem persist please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your login credentials and we will inspect this issue as soon as possible, also include a link to this topic.
Thanks!
Hi @YoungT
After WordPress updated at V 4.5 there appeared a jQuery conflict in our theme. We fixed this conflict and the current theme version available on themeforest works fine, also we included last version of Visual Composer plugin.
Try to update the theme at V 2.3.6, and Visual Composer at V 4.11.2 following our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ deactivate all other plugins, clear all caches and test again.
Thanks!
Hi
The theme have options which allow you to display taxonomy tags on custom post types. Here is an example: http://screencast.com/t/Nmyr92I33 – http://screencast.com/t/WMJ7a9wHcckS – http://screencast.com/t/cccXchFx3n
At the moment you can filter posts only by custom post types, not by custom taxonomies in Visual Composer.
We plan to extent theme’s flexibility in future and maybe a sorting by custom taxonomy will be available. However I can’t promise anything in this regard as this is a very complex task and some investigations must be made before. Also we have a long implementation list and we need to chose carefully what features we add.
Thanks!
Hello efaq,
1)As I have explained you above, the block buttons are made them with some custom rule. Also, please notice that the main element is WP Custom menu from Visual Composer, this have a custom class named .td-menu-blocks-custom Also, you have to make your own desired menu from Appearance->Menu from WP panel and then you have to use this visual Composer element with this custom class to get the Custom CSS design, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/i834fsDw -> http://screencast.com/t/Th9oEVLMM -> http://screencast.com/t/WWt2yabWiMv and as an example result -> http://screencast.com/t/7Mtx3fdFGNRd
2)So, please notice that our theme uses a lof of thumbs and sizes to display the featured images. Please check this -> http://screencast.com/t/mKgjef3g5UFF and there you can see a list with our modules and what kind of modules are used in our blocks and also, which of them are enabled or which not. Also, from the Thumbs on modules & Block, you will turn off some options for size and that size are used in some blocks that are active, the featured image will not be shown because the thumbs for this type of block are deactivated. I hope that you understand by explanation.
3)Also, if you want to add some link in our footer section, you have to use a footer template that allows you to make it as you wish, for example, the footer template style 5 and then you have to use a bit of HTML code to add a link, using this syntax -> http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_links.asp
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi
This issue was caused by the new version of WP. Please update your theme using this guide:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and then update visual composer to the latest version using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Please make sure that after the update you have version 4.11.2 of visual composer: http://screencast.com/t/hobX3PH5IsG
Thank you!
Hi
You can achieve that using a mega menu page which is also used on our demo. Here you can find our documentation for more details about setting up a page in mega menu: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-page-menu/
Basically you have to create your page in Visual Composer then add its id in indicated field. We use WP Custom Menu widget to create menus section. The page structure in Visual Composer could have this layout: http://screencast.com/t/qxGJVRsUxY1q and here is the page’s shortcode from VC http://pastebin.com/9qPjXswX – http://screencast.com/t/Dup8p5g5
I hope this helps.
Thanks!
So my visual composer isn’t working and I haven’t updated my theme in a few releases? Do I have to do so to get VC to work?
Please I don’t know why I cannot edit my homepage. Trying to edit some widget (category widget) for the homepage but the Visual Composer is not loading the page.
Hi
Here you can find our update documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Check this topic for more details about how can make post editor full width: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/two-boxes-in-post-editor/

Hi Hi !
1) and 3) The thing is, if I don’t customize there is no visual consistency. Ideally all the links should have the same color and the same hover color. Excluding things like the menu. It’s a pity that your theme – which I overall like – doesn’t provide the desirable level of control over these things, leaving the user in the need of customization, which has its problems.
If I take out the line of customized CSS causing this, the home page links will have a hover color with no consistency with the rest of the design. That’s what I am trying to fix here.
As you put it, either I accept a mandatory – not configurable – hover color or I will have to accept unexpected behaviors. None of these options sound very exciting 🙁
2) I disabled Photon and all plugins but Visual Composer, cleared browser cache. Issue remains. Then I checked the name of the file and which file the module is supposed to use. This is module MX8, so the 696 x 385 image is needed. I used FTP and downloaded the image. Inspected its size and it’s correct. The image with 696 x 385 is in the server.
What now?

Hello Natasha,
Please notice that this is a Visual Composer element and you can get like this -> http://screencast.com/t/3uvX1MsXjlb If you want that all your image to have the round corners, you have to use a bit of CSS code to do that. Please try to use img {border-radius:10px}.
Hope this helps!
Thanks.
Hello Torgut,
1)Unfortunately, I have checked your website and I saw that you have a lot of customizations. As you can see in this screenshot here -> http://screencast.com/t/2KVWPuCDaGYh this behaviour come from your additional custom CSS code -> http://screencast.com/t/2KVWPuCDaGYh If you want to remove it you have to remove from your custom CSS box, from Theme panel.
2)I have checked your source page again and I saw that you are using a lot of untested plugins which could cause a lot of unknown issues in theme. First of all, please try to disable the Photon module from Jetpack plugin because it seems that this type of plugin is a problematic one and create a lot of issue in our theme ->http://screencast.com/t/YBBe3mk5A Also, for better results, we recommend to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.
3)Now, you have a lot of customizations with CSS that can affect your theme design. Also, please notice that when my colleague provided you a custom CSS code you did not have a category tag. Subsequently, you have added them and that general code will further affect the style of your tag. Please notice that this was your request at that moment -> http://screencast.com/t/HzKsKuLVqhU Please notice that any code you have added in your backend to fix some design styles and then you have changed them or have added other options will affect these and probably do not work as properly or what you want. Please try to check your custom CSS box, remove this part of the code and check the results.
Thanks.
Hi
You can choose the desired category from block’s settings in Visual Composer when you prepare the shortcode: http://screencast.com/t/tDcvaVshh By setting a specific category in indicated field the theme will disply posts only from that category.
If this is not what you mean please provide more details about what you’re trying to do.
Thanks!
I am having the same issue with not all images displaying correctly all of the time. My website is http://www.shortshift.co
Newspaper 6.7.2
Visual Composer 4.11.2
I tried going through all my plugins and clearing my cache but the issue still persists. I also tried the plugin JQuery Updater but that didn’t seem to do anything.
Any recommendations?
Hi,
you have a js error on your site, most likely caused by a plugin conflict.
Please try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files.
Then try it again.
Thank you!
Top of the Morning! After the last update of Newspaper and Visual Composer I received this message in the administration panel “Important notice: You have an outdated version of Visual Composer Design Options. It is required to review and save it. ” After trying to get to the design options page twice, it states I do not have sufficient access. I contacted those at Visual Composer, after they were given temporary access. They mentioned that the theme developer would have disabled that page from within their panel. Can you confirm that’s true, and would it be possible for it to be brought back?
Hello threesides,
Please ensure that you are using the latest version of Visual Composer (4.11.2), that come bundled with the latest version of the theme (6.7.2), clear all cache and check the results. Until now we do not have any bad reports in this regards and should work as properly. Also, please try to use the theme without some untested plugins (Tiny MCE is not tested with our theme) because these cold interfere with the theme and might create a lot of unknown issues. Also, if your problem is still there after these changes, try to make a fresh install to ruling out all of potential issues which could be appeared, in your previous installation.
Please try to make a fresh install of the theme and then only install the Visual composer version that comes with the theme. Please remove any other version from the plugins section (disable and remove) and then install it from here: http://screencast.com/t/DwZN21u0VR -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ Also, please ensure that you have the latest version of the theme because there you will find the latest version of Visual Composer that come bundled with our theme.
Thanks.
Hi
Block’s layout can be corrected when it’s used on posts following this configuration:
– in Visual composer set a 2/3 row: http://screencast.com/t/KOy8eW1F
– insert this shortcode in do_shortcode function: http://screencast.com/t/xwyyFSQo
– add this css in theme panel > custom code > custom css: http://screencast.com/t/i4cv7jhH7Vs
.single .td-pb-row .td-pb-row .td-pb-span8 {
width: 100%;
}
Thanks!
Hello ahmetaydin,
Please ensure that you have the latest version of the theme (6.7.2), the latest version of Visual Composer (4.11.2) and the latest version of Social Counter (3.2), clear all caches and check again the results. If you problem is still there, please send us an email at contacty@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect the issue. Also, please provide the link of this topic so we can identify you.
Thank you for your message!
Hello Torgut,
1)I do not understand very good on what you are referring to in this case. So, I assume that you want to change the menu color when you do hover effect over these, like -> http://screencast.com/t/h7bbVHQU Please notice that this menu is called mega menu and you can only set from your panel. For more information about this, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/mega-menu/
If is not what you mean, please provide more details, some useful screenshots so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.
2)Please check the following topic because there was be discussed this issue and there it explains the entire system when the theme uses the images. Please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/resize-thumbnails-to-proper-size/
3)Unfortunately, this behavior is not come from our theme, sorry! It is most likely a plugin conflict which generates this behaviour. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, please all caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme. Also, you can compare our demo with your website and you will see that to our demo it is not this behaviour with hover on the category tags -> it is the same effect.
Thanks.
Hello Cybi,
After you have done your update to the latest version of the theme (6.7.2), please try to delete your old Visual Composer from your Plugins area, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/Tt9OsrzvdEL (deactivate and then delete it) and then you have to install from your Theme panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/wbPjiuXVEL
Hope this helps!
Thank you for your message!
Hi,
Please disable ALL plugins except visual composer. If you use wordfence, that is causing the theme panel to not save it’s settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/cant-save-theme-settings/
If you still have issues with this, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can inspect this issue. Please also include a link to this topic so we can identify you.
Thanks.
Hi
After WordPress updated at V 4.5 there appeared a jQuery conflict in our theme. We fixed this conflict and the current theme version available on themeforest works fine, also we included last version of Visual Composer plugin.
Try to update the theme at V 2.3.6, and Visual Composer at V 4.11.2 following our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ deactivate all other plugins, clear all caches and test again.
Thanks!
